Real disappointment
I've had this machine for a year now. Having done exhaustive research this seemed to be the best available. Cost nearly $1000 which took me some time to save up.
I've not had much confidence in the machine from the start.Always seemed to labour when making pasta/ pizza dough or anything a bit heavier.
The motor failed completely around September and I had to take it in to a repairer some 100 km away. About two weeks later I was able to pick it up. Motor had had to be replaced.
Today I made a biscuit dough and the machine worked its way off the...Read more
bench, with the cord pulling out and the machine crashing to the floor. Probably irreparable. There is too much wobble in the machine and too much movement in the hinge, which causes the machine to move around. My old Kenwood never did this. I am really disappointed. This machine is poorly engineered and for the price I would have expected better

My must have!
This is a replacement for my 25 year old kenwood! Bought in December 2018 and have loved every moment cooking with it. The bowl has a much larger capacity, the motor is more powerful and the attachments great. I love the paddle for creaming butter etc and the folding attachment for those delicate dishes like macarons. Would recommend highly to anyone who bakes.

The machine that does it all
Love my titanium XL! I have been using mine now for 2 years and every week it gets a regular work out at least 4 times a week with buttercream, dough and general mixing. I have a few of the attachments which makes for much convenience. Highly recommend

Dissapointing
I purchased the mixer about 3 months ago. It replaced a Breville Planetary mixer that had died.
So far the mixer has been a bit dissapointing. Every attachment that comes with the mixer fails to scrape the sides correctly & so I need to scrape down the sides manually. This is incredibly frustrating & time consuming. If I don't pause the machine to do this, the mixture or batter isn't thoroughly mixed & leaves dry ingredients on the bottom & sides.
I thought I'd done as much research as I could to find a suitable mixer & I chose this one due t...Read more
o the extra features, such as the light & the largest wattage out of all the domestic mixers on the market. It's also got a massive bowl to do large quantities. So that's a plus for this machine. The quality of the attachments seem to be high so far. Much better than the Breville I had previously. But it's just no good as a planetary mixer!Purchased in May 2021 at Appliances Online for $859.00.

Best mixer ever...I love the Machine
My wife loves using this machine which beats and mixes perfectly. If she has one criticism it is that the mixing bowl is too deep which can make it difficult to get the mix out.
All attachments that came with the mixer are easy to fit and easy to use.

Mistake buying this after being a Kenwood fan !
Bought this machine in May, 3 months from Harvey Norman Highpoint . First cake we made with first batch it mixed smoothly, second batch we put it up to 5 and it shakes and vibrates quite a bit on a small mixture. Second time we used it, was shaking again and was hot and then it was sent back to kenwood and claims are there is no fault, although their technician admitted it does shake but claims it’s normal .. new products shouldn’t shake . they claim “ it’s not running across the bench ! “ We are not claiming it’s crawling along but it do...Read more
es shake quite a bit, how can a machine shake be normal ? No report to show what tests were done when asked HN. . Be careful if you have this problem when buying this machine as denial will be their response & not interested on whether we agree or not and our experience is using this product . we had a kenwood for 20 years before this and this is why we trusted the product .. no more . we now have to pursue further action to recover the costs as Harvey Norman customer service is appalling . They are only interested when selling a product and only concerned about the $$. No concept on providing exceptional customer service when addressing the issue. This is when their customers don’t matter .Purchased in May 2021 at Harvey Norman for $850.00.

Fantastic product!
Have been using this product for the past year and a half and I am constantly astounded by it.
It has a very powerful motor with a large bowl that cleans easily and isn't too heavy.
I am definitely looking forward to getting a couple more for my kitchen!

Love IT
I love this mixer. I've been a chef for ten years and this is by far the best mixer I've had. I now tell every kitchen I work in to get one. The bowl six is great, and perfect for double batches. I also love the light feature (which I often use on early mornings in the kitchen!) I've never had an issue with it and I'll often use it on long 12 shifts of making cakes.

Can't live without my Chef XL!
I love my Kenwood Chef XL. I've had it for over a year now & use it all the time (it sits proudly on my benchtop!). Compared to my old stand mixer this one has such a powerful motor which I especially notice when whipping cream or egg whites in no time at all. The large bowl size is great & use it for both my savoury & sweet creations. I love that you can get the additional attachments too (I now have the blender & spiralizer). And I still get a bit excitement every time I turn on the illuminating light over the bowl!

My favourite kitchen appliance
In my career as a chef and caterer, I've tried several different brands of food mixers but my Kenwood Titanium definitely stands out! I love that the machine stops automatically when you open it, unlike some other brands which don't stop and cause a huge mess in the kitchen. My mixer has made my cooking 100x more efficient and I only wish I got it earlier! The mixing bowl is generous in size and I've had no issues with it when baking for friends and family. I also have the ice cream maker attachment and it is a dream to use.

Love my new Kenwood Chef XL Titanium
I bought this online during Christmas from Peter's of Kensington after checking customers reviews including other brands. The delivery was good and well packed but the light above the stainless steel bowl is not working. The 1700 watt motor is more than powerful for mixing 2.2kg sourdough weekly. It is much better than my Breville Bakery Boss stand mixer which only mixes 1.1kg dough and it came to the edge of the bowl during mixing.
This Kenwood Chef XL Titanium is very quiet during dough mixing and it has 10 years motor warranty. All mixing attachments are stainless steel.

Best Mixer, same as the oldies from the 60's!
As per my profile, I have had the unfortunate opportunity to own several stand mixers. I have a Sunbeam MX9500 (that I still need to review) that was great, but I stupidly doubled and an already large dough and it hasn't been the same since.
I have also inherited an old 60's Kenwood chef A701 that is still going great, but dont want to destroy it with large batches and dough. So I bought the Titanium XL.
From first opening, what a well constructed, solid (but not overly heavy) stable machine. Love the huge high quality attachments and big bow...Read more
l. The whisk is the most solid whisk ive seen, Kitchenaid cant even compare. Great safety feature with not turning on if the speed dial is already set when plugged and and the motor cuts out if the head is lifted. I adjusted all my attachments within a mm of the bowl to make sure I get the best possible mix. Folding speed is so smooth and slow to delicately fold in the flour for a cake. Small quantities are also possible with this machine once the tools have been properly adjusted with the supplied spanner. I have easily whipped up 2 eggwhites with the whisk (I usually use a hand mixer anyway or my little kenwood chef, but I wanted to see if it could do it). The XL bowl is similar width to my chef Bowl, so even though it is bigger (taller) it can do all the same as the chef size bowl. Spiral Dough hook is amazing and provides the best kneading action I have seen on a domestic mixer. Really kneads it, and not just spins it around the bowl. Creaming beater is also the best scraper beater I have used. It scrapes the bowl, but also pushes everything back down. Some machines like Breville's Scraper Mixer also scapes the bowl well, but tends to push ingredients up the wall of the bowl away from the beater.Purchased in December 2021 at Appliances Online for $870.00.

Price Doesn't Equal Quality
The quality of the accompanying attachments are rough, the dough hook and the K-beater i got both have obvious chips in them(dough hook even got some metal dust at the side which would contact food), so i contacted Kenwood costumer service. They sent me the replacement, however, the second K-beater still has chip in it, they said they will send me another K-beater, but i haven't received anything, tried to contact them, no reply. Additionally, the mixer itself has a few bumpy surface, honestly, the finish of machine and accompanying attachments/accessories does not look like something priced at AUD$1,199.
The motor is strong, but when you turn the speed over 5, feels like the mixer going to jump down from bench top.

Great machine
This is one of the strongest home users stand mixer. The motor is strong the bowl capacity is very big. All attachments are great. I have found that when brand new sometimes the mixing bowl can get stuck. I have put a little oil around the slots that lock the bowl in and this recitified the issue. Over all I would never buy another machine. It is expensive but well worth the money. Also comes with a 10 year warranty

Fabulous all rounder!
Absolutely in love with this machine, it works silently and efficiently and is able to keep up with me and my small cake decorating business (needless to say, I use this a HEAP and it never struggles under the pressure). I especially love the Flexi-Beater attachment and the handy light that lights up the bowl as you use it. The huge bowl size is also a big bonus, especially for the quantities I need to make. Thank you for an amazing product Kenwood!

This is a true kitchen machine not some little toy. Very well made, sturdy thoughtful design. I can see one of my kids inheriting it! Plenty of useful attachments, we especially love the food processor. Bowl size is generous, and the light into the bowl to aid visualisation is such a brilliant idea.

Exceptional Quality
The motor is powerful and kneads bread dough easily. The variable speed control allows for exact speed selections. The halo illumination and bowl cover do their jobs well. My previous Kenwood served me for 37years with no issues so sticking with Kenwood was easy. The most important feature for me is that almost every piece is dishwasher safe. I’ve also purchased the blender and food processor attachments and they too are mostly dishwasher safe. I’ve used the K beater, whisk, dough hook and creaming tool and they performed well. Unexpected jem
After our poor hand mixer died, we decided to upgrade to a stand mixer.
After doing some research, both with friends and online, I had my heart set on a Kitchenaid, but after looking at both in store, we decided on the Kenwood titanium.
It won us over for the bigger motor, 10 year warranty, the impressive studyness of the parts, along with the smaller features such as the led light and splash guard

Questions & Answers
Rosie Basked
I'm looking to buy the Kenwood KVL 8300S Chef Titanium XL and have found it ranging drastically in price from different outlets. Are there old and new models with the same product code? I'm suspicious of the lower priced ones but don't want to pay over the top!

Hi Rosie,
I got mine from Appliances online last January for just under $1000. Be aware that there are some issues with this machine. One being it will wobble around the bench and end up on the floor broken if you don't watch it like a hawk. Mine is thus broken. second, the accessories don't all scrape from the whole bowl, so you will needto periodically stop the machine and scrape the bits that haven't been mixed.
Honestly, this is a very expensive machine and these issues shouldn't be occurring, but there's nothing on the market as powerful.
Hey Rosie, I bought mine on Appliances Online for just over $900. I love it. Haven't had any issues with it wobbling around on the bench or with it not mixing properly. It's definitely worth every cent. I love the size of the bowl, I can do small mixes and large. It sits on my bench and I use it at least three times a week. Good luck with your purchase!
Pinky J.asked
wht is the min no of eggs can be used in this model?
1 answer
Kenwood t.Kenwood
Hi there,
Thanks for your question. In good news - there's no minimum! There's a handy spanner-like tool that should have come in the box of your kitchen machine, which will allow you to lower the bowl tools so that you can work with any amount of ingredients.
With the mixer switched off, insert the whisk bowl tool and lower the mixer head. Check the clearance between the tool and the bottom of the bowl. Ideally the tool should be almost touching the bottom of the bowl.
Hope this helps!
Marlene J.asked
I have had my Kenwood since forever but find the large bowl too big for most of my mixing, wish there was a small bowl for small mixing!

I've found that with the larger bowl on the Chef XL Titanium has been better with small amounts than with my old kenwood. The blades and whisks seem to pick up the ingredients better from the base of the larger bowl, but that's just my experience. I've been a kenwood user since childhood cooking with mum and now my grandkids love to see me get the kenwood out!
