Gear box broke itself at 425hrs
I bought my rtvx900 new, it has only done 425 hrs on the clock, it started out as a clicking sound then it was jumping out of high, then got stuck in two gears at once, couldn't go forward or back, I have taken it to a mechanic who said it had a lot of metal floating in the oil. He tried to get a price on a new gear box but it appears its not sold as a separate part, only with the Hst attached at the rear, Note it had its 50 hrs service done by the dealer, also had the 200 hr service done by the dealer, this vehicle was bought new December 2015. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Several issues!
The Kubota was great! For The first 100 hours, then It slowly started acting up. It shakes violently anytime you start it, so we took it to our local Dealer and had them try and figure it out and they could not figure it out and told my grandpa that it was "the tailgate" that was making it shake so bad so after being worked on for a week and a half they charged for the labor, only to tell that it was the "tailgate" and since its been back it has lost some of its power and drive you really have to give it some gas to make it go and it's really beyond frustrating! Due to the fact that he sent it to get fixed, not to make it any worse. So overall not very satisfied with the Purchase!

For a farm - as good as it gets
This is my third Kubota RTV900. Now done 40 hours. The first was a 900, the second was a 900XT and this one is the latest X900. I kept the others for 5 years before changing over. Why did I change? First, owning a Kubota RTV is like having $ in the bank. Terrific trade in value. After 5 years and 500 hours I needed a big service and the tyres needed replacing. For a bit more $ I got the latest model and a new RTV. The new X900 is a big improvement. Bigger, more roomy, more user friendly, more functional but basically the same great RTV with sam...Read more
e engine but better transmission. On this one I got a windscreen and front and rear work lights. My RTV has Restricted Registration for driving on the road. I really cannot live without my RTV. My small farm is steep but the hydraulic transmission allows me to carefully go down steep slopes. Very safe and strong roll over cage. Great towing and carrying capacity. These machines are commercial units built for really tough work on mine sites etc. They are as tough as nails. Only problem with my last one was starter motor needed new contacts due to too many stop starts. No big deal. Servicing can be a bit pricey but that is the price you need to pay to get and maintain a superb piece of farm equipment. Only minus was the new X900 did not come with a plug for the lights on a trailer? Both previous ones did? How can you have an RTV registered for the roads with a tow hitch and no plug for trailer lights?Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
