Great unit
I bought this mower to replace a Toro ride on. After looking for years at other options in the price range, this offered a much better/tougher build for the price. The K-Lift is brilliantly simple to operate. The chassis and deck are really built tough compared to others I looked at in the same price range, and has the stronger/faster zt3100 hydros. I'm more than happy with having a Briggs ELS in the Z122E. My old Toro had a Briggs ELS and is the only thing that didn't break and is still running great after 11yrs. I have had no problems with t...Read more
he Z122E so far after 4yrs/83 Hrs but I do look after it because my area can get quite dusty. I've read through the reviews on this site and, IMO, a lot of the problems experienced are down to bad dealer setup and/or operator error/ poor maintenance. Doesn't stear great on hills? Zero turns are not recommended for hilly terrain. Belt smoking? The belt has not been put back on the right way. I did this myself. I threw the belt twice when I first got the mower. Worked out what I was doing wrong and have not had a problem since and still on the original belt.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
was great until?
Was great for 2 years until it started bogging down and short grass or wouldn't re start after running for a while so as a small engine mechanic I was certain I could fix it but to no avail, I finally gave in and called my local Kubota dealer for assistance only to find out that my mower had multiple recalls on it I never received a recall notice on it, now I understand things go bad but that kind of costumer service is just wrong, that being said the dealer took care of it so I blame Kubota on this,

Fast as
Never had an issue, much better than the John Deere zero turn I had, I beat up on the Kubota, use it in dust and mud, had it bogged up to the seat, just keeps going,
Only down side is it’s a bit heavy on fuel
Comfortable, very fast and reliable

Very good!
OK! I can relate to the negative reviews with this product (2014 Kubota BX25D). The guy who wanted one "Out of the crate", unfortunately Kubota doesn't let you do this. I too wanted to pick my own from the few they had on the lot, but the salesman told me that they don't do it like that. He said 1st in and 1st out. It doesn't work like a car dealer. With that said, it should not have had double digit hours on it. Mine had 0.3 hours so I knew it was new. Also, they do stand by the two year warranty, but it does stink that you must get the unit to them at your own expense and sometimes wait too long to get it back. And most of their mechanics are stupid and don't know how to diagnose and repair it right.

So Far So Good
Easy to operate around the many obstacles we have in our yard. Far superior to my old Ride-On. Did my 2.5 Ha yard in a quarter of the time. Comfortable to operate.
Early days yet. Will keep you in the loop.
Pleased with Milne Bros help & advice. Disappointed that the machine did not come with a parts book.
Motor should have a foam element complimenting the paper air cleaner, especially in dusty conditions.
It has a non genuine foam filter now, gratis Sterling Milne. Cheers.

Will not start, and I found out that their is recalls on this model but what tick me off is that Kubota never mail out to me a recall letter, so

Great mower. Pleased with the purchase
Our mower mows four or five blocks each two weeks so I feel it gets a fair test from the time it has spent with us. It is the fourth or fifth Zero turn mower we have had and seems the toughest so far. The fabricated deck makes it a little heavier but is reassuring that it should hold together much better than pressed decks. The fact the blade carrying shafts are slightly out of alignment means they don't hit one another. Two starting other mowers with T, one J, one with a W

o I prefer mowing uphills. It is a bit inclined to steer off going downhill because of the short wheelbase and mass coming off the rear wheels. That is great for traction going uphill, however. The belt driven cutter blades make it very forgiving in tough conditions. I have used a gear driven deck on a previous mower and much prefer this one. Tough I find the mower comfortable and easy to control. The amount of fuel used does depend on the extent of the work I do. Tough work means more fuel but the mower is doing about five to six hours a month1 comment
Mower still going well cutting several gardens at a time. Just traded my Walker mower on another Kubota. The Walker is good on fine lawns, but fragile near larger stones or rocks.

Happy with my purchase
Zero Turn is far superior to my Kubota B6200 with under slung mower in terms of speed and comfort. Uses a fair bit more fuel when the grass is long. I have done 105 hours in about 10 months with little maintenance required apart from oil change, clean air filter and a new set of blades (my block is still a bit rough). Also Zero Turn is great fun to drive.

Average at best
I got this mower because I could get a good deal on it through a family friend that works for a Kubota dealer, so I got it for $4250 plus tax and warranty or whatever. I think if my yard was perfectly flat, I could give this mower 4 stars. My biggest complaints are how awful it handles. Going downhill and want to make a right or left turn? Forget about it. This thing drifts like something from Fast and Furious when you try to turn it. I've tried adjusting the tire pressure down, to get a better contact patch, but then it just mows uneven in cor...Read more
ners. It's supposed to hold 4 gallons of gas, but I have 1.1 acres, which I mow about half of most of the time, and just mow the back half about every 3rd time. One tank on this thing will mow about 2 acres at best, in my experience. When I first got it, it took forever to start, so I found that when they assembled it they didn't attach the throttle cable right and the choke wasn't working. I haven't had a very good experience with this hunk of orange at all, but it does cut really flat and drives fast, if i'm on flat ground, which not much of my yard is since I'm on a hill.Similar opinion? Kommader z122e 48" Briggs and Stratton, great zero turn mower
The mower has a 48 inch cut and is very well made,Hills District Farm Equipment were helpful and professional in handling my purchase. The mower is very comfortable and easy to operate with a foot operated deck lift system. The v-twin Briggs is ultra smooth and has plenty of torque. I highly recommend this product for residential mowing.

Mower belt coming off, engine is running ruff, missing.
Very disappointed for a mower to be in the shop 2 times with only 49 hrs on it .And the dealer, my cousin Woodlee Kubota McMinnville Tn. of all things saying it had a stick on the mower belt causing the belt to come off, and bad gas causing it to run bad.Hi, I didn't just come off the boat .Belt has came off 4 times.I put it back on .The Dam thing shakes like a out of ballence dryer at low speed, The Dealer told me to run it wide open and then turn on the mower belt. And all gas is bad. Use gas treatment. What a bunch of crap.

Belt issues - 2 broken within 25 hours
The PTO belt came off and was put back on by the dealer when the mower was quite new, then at 65 hours it snapped.
At a cost of $199 for the belt and over $180 for travel and labour it was replaced. It then fell off again about 10 hours later and has now, at 90 hours snapped.
We have phoned the dealer who has said they can't do anything under warranty. Understandably we are not willing to pay another $380 to have the dealer come out to fix it again.
Phoned Kubota head office who have basically told me it was my fault because of the way i e...Read more

Junk
Have owned for 2.5 years and has been in shop several times a year. Ignition switch, pto engagement switch, crank case oil leak, hydroaulic oil leak, bad carburetor and so on, was told that the Briggs motor is junk..... buyers beware!!! Every time I try to depend on this mower it leaves me stranded.

No regrets
I did a lot of research before buying my first ever ride-on, initially settled on something else, then changed my mind. I couldn't be happier. I purchased from Dural Farm Equipment who didn't make me feel like the first-time owner, middle-aged woman, greenie that I was. In spring and summer, I mow every second week, 3.5 hours in total and my Kubota has been great. I have had it serviced and I make sure all the regular checks are done. So glad I opted for zero turn over regular tractor steering. It's also great for towing my little farm cart whe...Read more

Great Zero Turn Mower
I have had this mower for a little over a year now with 84hrs on the clock as I have a 5 acre block to mow, I love it as its quick and manoeuvrable and I haven't had any issues as yet, in fact the wife and I fight over who gets to do the first stint of mowing as its that good to use compared to the Toro zero turn that we had previously. Its pretty rough in places and the Kubota keeps soldering on through thick and thin. I cant say much about the after sales as we haven't needed anything but the salesman at the dealership really made the whole process simple and a pleasure to deal with.

Can you say LEMON!
I have 300 hours on my Z122E and it's been a maintenance nightmare since day one, you should never buy one of these mowers. The starter switch has broken 6 times, and it's going out again now, left me stranded in the middle of customers lawns every time. Pulley bearings failed on the drive belt and it flew off one day and landed in the yard next to me. Front right "sealed" wheel bearings blew out and the Kubota dealer wouldn't cover it under warranty. Main drive belt broke in half at 100 hours, it costs $125 to replace it. Blades last 2 weeks ...Read more
and they're toast, the steel quality of the ($70) blades is crap. Back tire blew out one day and to replace it was over $300. This mower has spent more time in the shop than out in the field cutting grass. Run away, do not buy this mower.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Very poor quality
My Z122E has 113 hrs on the meter. We have 5 acres of all lawn-- really easy going. So far it has been to the dealers workshop 5 times. The mechanic has been out to us 4 times. The main issue has been loss of power, backfiring etc which was eventually traced to a fuel supply issue. The crankshaft seal also failed causing a major oil loss.Every time it breaks down I drag out the old (14 years) Cox and finish the job. I paid extra for a so called quality brand which was a complete waste of money.

o contact Kubota Australia via phone and website. Still waiting for a reply after 2 weeks. Peter MAs described above, the moderate oil leak became major which meant another trip to the workshop. This mower has spent more time on the road to the repair shop than actually mowing grass. PM
