I am a brunette but always use the Dark Blonde as it makes my hair brown -- always use lighter than you want to be
I want to know WHY the dickens do L'Oreal use the tiny bit of ring plastic AS WELL as the top of the tube as we are supposed to be doing away with such things because of critters dying because of these small bits of plastic and especially rings -- what's wrong with the original screw top with a sharp point and do away with the 'ring'
Purchased in September 2021 at Woolworths Online store for A$12.00.

Excellent!
Excellent! I've never dyed my hair and as more grey started to appear I felt that the time had come to brighten up my naturally reddish/ dark fair hair. I was very nearly put off by the negative reviews. As I didn't want to be a look alike for "Morticia from the Addams family" nor have matted damaged hair, I proceeded with caution and did a hair strand test first. Many reviewers say the dyes result in darker hair than shown on the packaging. The strand looked OK so I went for it! I did only leave the dye on for 15 minutes instead of the recomm...Read more
ended 20 as my hair was body permed about 8 months ago. I was really pleased with the results. My hair looked like its natural colour minus the grey, had a warm reddish tone and was very soft and silky. The only small negative is that if I look closely there are a few grey hairs, but that was my decision not to leave the dye on for the full recommended time. Definitely would use again.

I like the color but its not really glossy.
I used this in Dark blonde 700, on light blonde hair. I like the color because it came out very ashy, which is what i wanted. However, it is not that glossy after dying. Without conditioning treatments it would have remained a bit dull. The color is great though. I left the dye on for about 15 minutes because my hair was light to start with. If you're looking for extra glossy hair from this dye I doubt it will do much, I had more shiny results with other Loreal box dyes rather than this, for example, the Loreal preference and excellence ranges which also have a dark blonde range and would be less ashy if that is what you are looking for. The conditioning treatment smells great but again, doesn't do much.

Love this hair colour
My hair is greying, I always keep it very short and I have found the Dark Blonde casting creme to be excellent, the colour fades over about five weeks which is fine because you dont get re- growth.
Its very easy to apply with very little mess .
My hair is always soft and shiny after using this product never dry or brittle .
I am never without a spare box in my bathroom cupboard .

Excellent! Covered All Greys.
1st time I have used a home colour in over 30 years, I have a full head of blonde foils from hairdresser, had a fair bit of grey coming through, got a bit over going to the salon every 5 weeks, for grey roots touch up. I wanted a temporary colour, just in case it turned out bad, so I wouldn't have a disaster on my hands! This colour turned out pretty good, it did leave a gold tone all over, probably due to my foils, but not bad. Covered 100% GREYS! which is what I really wanted. Followed directions to a tee, worked out fine. Colour matched box. At least with this you can have a different colour every month or so.

Did the job.
After almost twenty years of salon colour I recently decided to go back to doing my hair myself. After a temporary pink colour on my copper brown I used the JoBaz colour remover to get back to basics. being a brunette naturally and having learned that packet dyes always come out darker I decided that to end up a medium brown {level 5 to 6} I would start cautiously. So I grabbed the level 7 dark blonde, keeping in mind also that it's a semi so not as likely to cover dark hair as a permanent. It I was using a permanent I would have even gone with...Read more
a level 8 to start with. It did the job I wanted, which was basically to cover greys and tone down the bright copper orange light brown I had after stripping all the dye from my hair. Condition wasn't that great but I put that down to far too much processing in too short a time. The colour is almost perfect and I will probably go with a permanent next time for longer lasting grey coverage. One thing I keep reading in reviews that drives me insane is that the colour turned out too dark. I think most people don't understand how the colour levels work, and that they should start with a colour two shades lighter than what they are aiming for. So if you want to end up with a brown you should start with a dark blonde or even lighter, you don't put a 5.0 brown onto lighter hair without expecting it to almost go black. If the colour you like is numbered 4.15 it will be VERY DARK, and you should go with the 6.15 instead and work your way up the numbers gradually. And if your hair is black to start with there's not many colours that will even show up. No complaints with this product at all, but will be moving on to permanent colors next time.Similar opinion? Very drying and doesn't cover greys at all
I bought the 700 dark blonde to cover my grey roots... I didn't have many but they were on my hair line. Unfortunately they didn't cover them at all and my hair now feels like I dropped it in an acid bath and I couldn't even get a comb through it afterwards and feared I would have to cut it all off. The condition is really dreadful now which is a shame as I had been really looking after it. Such a shame. Wish I had read the review. This product shouldn't be on the market. Very angry.

never ever again
Was so unhappy with the results of this product. I could hardly wait a month to recolor. I carefully, and always follow the directions on the package, and new before I even rinsed out the product it was so wrong for me. I have greys to cover, and sadly it did not cover at all. My hair looked dull and lifeless, and became extremely dry after using this product. Wasted my money, my time, and damaged my hair. What a disaster. Should not be on the market. Im still mad.....about it.

#700 DARK BLONDE is a perfect match if you have dirty blonde/mousy brown hair
I have never dyed my hair before (apart from occasional blonde highlights) and wanted to keep my natural colour but cover the greys without chemicals ammonia and peroxide and a gradual fadeout rather than root regrowth which I think looks terrible. My hair colour is typical of English ancestors - blonde in childhood, then darkens to a mousy dirty blonde/light ash brown. This product comes in a perfect match: #700 DARK BLONDE. The greys have gone and no-one noticed I coloured my hair - completely natural result, no obvious fake tones and the...Read more
natural highlights still show though. Easy to use, didn't stain my clothes when a little dripped. So you get added shine and your natural colour enhanced. The conditioner is great and lasts a few washes. It's crucial to understand the differences between semi-permanent and permanent hair colours, and choosing the right colour for the result you want. The bad reviews here are unjustified and mostly due to poor choice of colour. If you hair is already coloured you need to consult L'Oreal to find which colour to use to get the result you want as the chemicals will behave according to what is already in your hair. As I found, you will get the best result with 'virgin' hair. REMEMBER the colour is always darker than the picture on the box, they really need to rename the colours as most people complain about getting a too-dark result. Look for a store that has the hair tuft samples to look at rather than a picture or a colour chart. I am going to try one shade lighter next time as I get more greys, for a softer look. Oddly enough the next shade is a permanent and will bleach the hair,(read the box carefully) so I will go for No.810 Pearl Blonde - will report back on results! Very natural result, easy to use, doesn't damage hair, inexpensive, leaves hair shiny The weird smell - only lasts a day or two1 comment

thing I wanted. SCHWARZKOPF Ultimate Colour Multi-use colour foam in #700 Dark Blonde. Apply it straight to DRY hair, you can use an applicator brush and use as much or as little as you want to roots, greys or full head. Many applications from pack, store for later use. NO BAD SMELL. Does not appear to contain Ammonia. Natural colour perfectly matched my natural hair so just used it on roots and top layer - blended perfectly! It's permanent too. Easy to use, no drip foam. Best way to use it, spray the foam into a plastic bowl, mix briefly (2 products - developer and colour foam mix as you spray) then just apply it to your hair where you want and wait half an hour. Doesn't stain skin either. They just need to expand the colour range. I am so pleased with this product it solved my problem and my hair looks shiny and natural. I was considering just giving up and going grey gracefully as I didn't want end up with expensive salon visits. This new Schwarzkopf product covers the grey better than the L'Oreal Casting Creme. It comes in a blue box and contains enough for a full head plus next root retouch. Incredibly easy to use.
