Didn’t work at all
Did not change the colour of my hair at all and I used it exactly as instructed, my hair naturally is a darker blonde so it should have worked, it was a complete waste of money

Awful
I have my hair professionally coloured -2shades of blonde and one brown every six weeks. Due to lockdown I have bad roots - fancied a temp change so tried Black Cherry thinking it would come out pinkish on the blonde bits. Strangely it did come out very dark in places and brown in others. Hair looks horribly dull though and I can hardly get a brush through it. V disappointing as I've used Castings in the best with lovely results- won't be using it again:(

Can be misleading for some
There’s a lot of negative reviews for this colour and I think the best way to avoid hair dye disasters is to look at the numbers, it took me years to figure this out, for example this colour is 645, 6 is usually light brown, though they’re calling it dark blonde for this range, 4 is copper and 5 is mahogany (you can see this on the top of the box) so your hair will most likely come out a light brown shade with a copper, mahogany hue. But unfortunately people overlook the light brown part and think their hair will be a copper, mahogany like the ...Read more
photo on the box. If you don’t want to darken your hair and just want the red tones, then look for a number starting with 8 which is blonde, so like 845 wouldn’t darken your hair. Unfortunately, at least where I live in Australia, they don’t have much variety with this brand so this is really the only reddish one there is from this line unless you go even darker to the mahogany etcSimilar opinion? Great results
The colour lasts in tone for 5 to 6 weeks.
I wash my hair three times a week.
It will stain if you do not emosify the hairline when washing it. I put paw paw ointment on my hairline to prevent staining.

Didn’t work well
I used this on my hair, kept it for 25 minutes to be sure it would work and was so disappointed by the result. Didn’t work well at all. It didn’t cover the grey areas and I am never wasting my money on it again.

Red to Dark Brown
I recently dyed my red hair with 645 to even out some brassy roots which resulted from stripping out a previous colour. I have used this colour previously and for this exact same purpose. This new formula turned my red hair a warm but dark brown. This product is completely ridiculous and totally misleading.

Followed the instructions, and it did absolutely nothing.
I bought one box of L'Oreal Paris Casting Creme dye in the shade Medium Brown 500 for $14 NZD. I wish I could have that $14 back. I've never coloured my hair at home or at a salon, so I thought a semi-permanent would be a nice way to ease into it. I was very wrong. I mixed the solution and did a strand test, and it did not change my dirty blonde/brown hair at all, but I decided to go ahead with dying the entire thing anyway. I did both the roots and tips for 20 minutes, and then washed it out (very excitedly) only to find that it did absolutely...Read more
nothing. Before, my hair was a dark blonde/light brown with a few naturally occurring highlights from time outside. After using this product, my hair is barely half a shade darker and all my highlights (which were my favourite part of my hair) are now a dull blonde colour to match the original colour of my hair. Overall, extremely disappointed. Not only did it make SOME of my hair exactly what I was trying to change it from the rest stayed almost the exact same. I do not recommend this product in the slightest.Purchased in January 2021 at Countdown NZ for A$14.00.

Uselessly
It is not the same colour as it shows on the box and left my hair feeling dry and knotty. Has quite a bright red colour on the box, turns out really dark brown with a very slight red tinge.

Why do I have to buy it cheaper online?
1. I can buy this product online for $8.00 at Woolworths or Coles
2. I dont like to shop online prefer the in store experience
3. So therefore I feel discriminated against
Why dont the store offer shoppers like me the same discount?
Only buy when on special $8.00 or $16.00 normal price
Been using this product for many years ...looks like I will have to change

Covered my new Ash half-head highlights
After reading lots of negative reviews I was a little concerned. I naturally have medium - dark brown hair and had recently gotten blonde ash highlights, which instead of softening my features actually made them harsher...
I did a strand test first, choosing some hair from the back of my head which had a mix of coloured and natural hair and then applied it for 10 minutes (out of the recommended 20 minutes) so I could compare the colours with special attention to the contrast.
If you are scared about the colour turning black, you could always...Read more
do multiple strand tests, increasing the length of time as you go. Happy with the result, I applied the dye to the rest of my hair for around 12-15 minutes of the recommended 20 minutes and it was perfect! I looked almost exactly like I did before I got the highlights just a little richer in colour and moisturised. I think this is an ideal colour for people who want to take their cool coloured blonde back to warm brunette because this particular brown already has red in it, which is important you're usually told to do red first, then apply a brown. This colour effectively combines those steps. I don't recommend you try it home but I did apply the gloss a week after having my hair dyed. Usually you're told to wait 6 weeks but my hair is super thick, I stranded tested first and was pretty desperate to change my colour. Be careful with your hair though - I recommend you follow instructions and get a professional to do it. I actually tried chocolate chestnut 515 and it made the highlights a purpley-red so I took a risk stepping it up to the Dark Brown.Purchased in October 2021 at Kmart Retail Stores for A$12.00.

Very happy with results
I have dark blonde ashy hair but after dying it a few times it had lightened and turned brassy so I wanted to dye it back to my original colour or even a bit darker so I picked this colour going for something darker because I knew it would fade a bit anyway. The first thing I’ll say is that the photo on the box is a bit misleading because it looks quite dark and even looks like it had a orange tinge to it which I definitely didn’t want but the colour code number is 6.00 which is dark blonde with no red tone so I decided to risk it and that’s wh...Read more
at I got, a dark cool blonde/light brown with no red so it actually turned my hair back to my original colour so I was happy with that and also found it didn’t dry my hair out either or have a strong chemical so I will definitely use this again or try the medium brown next time for something darker.Purchased in October 2021.

I am a brunette but always use the Dark Blonde as it makes my hair brown -- always use lighter than you want to be
I want to know WHY the dickens do L'Oreal use the tiny bit of ring plastic AS WELL as the top of the tube as we are supposed to be doing away with such things because of critters dying because of these small bits of plastic and especially rings -- what's wrong with the original screw top with a sharp point and do away with the 'ring'

Don’t do it!
I used amber expecting a copper red colour (like on the box) and ended up with a dark-ish brown that had a slight red tinge. I put it over my natural strawberry blonde hair. I really hope it washes out quickly. Definitely not the colour I was expecting.

Not Iced Chocolate
I had previously used shade 515 and found it to be too reddish for my liking so I went to Iced Chocolate 415 which was described as being more ashy. I had light brown hair to begin with and this turned it near BLACK with a reddish tinge.
The colour is MUCH darker than advertised on any of their packaging for this product (because they have about three different looking boxes with different models & diff hair shades all for the same 415 shade). The casting creme gloss itself isn't bad it leaves a nice shine to the hair and if you want a tempora...Read more
ry colour change, however if you're like me and picky with the shade then I don't recommend, go to the salon instead. In summary, Pros: - Lasts about 2-3 months - Did not damage hair - Leaves hair shiny Cons:Purchased in June 2021 at Priceline for A$16.00.

Texture of the colourant!
I have been using this colour for many years and used to be fine, but my last 4-5 colours have not mixed up properly. The paste seems off! Not happy with the quality of the products quality!
Never had a problem with the colour shade though!
