Auburn not Amber 645
Fortunately I like dark red hair - that's what the 2 stars are for. This is what I ended up with. Absolutely nowhere near amber. The product was super easy to use and my hair is in great condition.
Purchased for A$15.00.

Can be misleading for some
There’s a lot of negative reviews for this colour and I think the best way to avoid hair dye disasters is to look at the numbers, it took me years to figure this out, for example this colour is 645, 6 is usually light brown, though they’re calling it dark blonde for this range, 4 is copper and 5 is mahogany (you can see this on the top of the box) so your hair will most likely come out a light brown shade with a copper, mahogany hue. But unfortunately people overlook the light brown part and think their hair will be a copper, mahogany like the ...Read more
photo on the box. If you don’t want to darken your hair and just want the red tones, then look for a number starting with 8 which is blonde, so like 845 wouldn’t darken your hair. Unfortunately, at least where I live in Australia, they don’t have much variety with this brand so this is really the only reddish one there is from this line unless you go even darker to the mahogany etc

Red to Dark Brown
I recently dyed my red hair with 645 to even out some brassy roots which resulted from stripping out a previous colour. I have used this colour previously and for this exact same purpose. This new formula turned my red hair a warm but dark brown. This product is completely ridiculous and totally misleading.

Don’t do it!
I used amber expecting a copper red colour (like on the box) and ended up with a dark-ish brown that had a slight red tinge. I put it over my natural strawberry blonde hair. I really hope it washes out quickly. Definitely not the colour I was expecting.
Purchased in August 2021 at Priceline for A$15.00.

New and improved version is much too dark
I have used the amber semi permanent colour for a couple of years and was thrilled to find a semi permanent colour that suited me. However the 'new improved' version is far too dark and hair is not as glossy as it used to be.The end result does not match the colour indicated on the box, but it did before you changed it. I have now got to search again to find the perfect colour. Why on earth did you change a good product? Very disappointed.

Wouldn’t buy again
This turned my strand test hair black. Mad at wasting my money . Thankful I didn’t put it all on my head, if I had I would be going nuts! I wouldn’t buy another product from casting.

Will never buy again
I put the colour "amber" on my hair (which already had a ginger tint to it naturally) and my hair turned black!!! BLACK!! i am now going to have to strip my hair and damage it even further which is horrible because I have such long, unforgivable hair! I would not recommended this product

Colour totally different to the box!
I bought this in Amber, which is an orange/copper colour. What happened on my head was straight up brown. And not even a very warm brown. My hair is medium brown with bleached ends. I have used other semipermanent colours that are similar copper shades and it warms up the brown and makes the ends quite orange - which is what I wanted. I actually quite like the neutral brown colour it turned out to be, but will not buy this product again as it is nowhere near what it's supposed to be.

Amber colour turned almost black!!!!
I purchased the amber colour of the l'oreal casting creme gloss. My hair had been dyed before and I have previously used hair colour remover to remove the black. My hair was a nice reddish dark blonde when the black hair colour was removed. According to the colour comparison on the box my hair would turn from light brown to a nice copper red colour. Instead... What I got is almost black hair again with a hint of brown in the sunlight. How on earth can I have a red coppery colour on light brown hair to almost BLACK?! Disgraceful. And the stupid ...Read more
semi-permanent colour won't wash out!!!! I'm now going to have to use bleach to remove this rubbish colour and try something else. Stay away!!!!!! Absolutely nothing! Wrong colour than shown on the box, isn't semi-permanent, static hair, flat, almost black colour. Basically everything.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Amber
This is the 2nd time I have dyed my hair with Loreal Casting Creme - Amber. I am asian and my hair colour is naturally dark brown if not black, i have this colour Amber put on my hair, it turns out really nice for my hair, it gives a tint of copper which has lighten my complexion on my face. The great thing is it does cover my grey. However one down side of this product was, it gives my hair a lot of static, this would settle down at least after 3-4 washes. I wonder if anyone has this same experience as i do?
Apart from the static issue, ov...Read more

Amber 645
I have short, light brown hair and had about half an inch of lighter root growth and about 7 white hairs in my parting. Not a god look so thought I'd try something new. The colour on the Amber box is absolutely gorgeous, just what I wanted, what I ended up with after following the instructions to the word is woeful, the only good thing I have to say is that it did cover the white hairs but the rest of it looks no different. A complete waste of 25 minutes, never again!
The conditioner smells nice
Ineffective and expensive for what it did - covered a few grey hairs but left the rest as it was.
