Love our Lotus Freelander!
We have a 2014 (23') limited edition Freelander and have been living in our van full time since 215. We're extremely happy with its layout and it's quality fittings and finish. Lotus have been great to work with and willing to come up with solutions when we had issues with the people who sold us our caravan . The caravan has been extremely reliable and we've had no serious issues since we bought it! We love the east-west bed and quality fittings. It tows like a dream. Well done Lotus

2015 Lotus Freelander
We bought our standard Freelander new in January 2016. Since them it has done several big trips without a problem. Very happy with the service of the dealer and the manufacturer. A gas strut on the bed wasn't working effectively and another was posted within a couple of days after a phone call. The weights are all as advised and it tows well behind a Colorado. We mostly free camp and get about 2 weeks off grid before we need to resurface for water. Power is ample from the van alone. Couldn't be happier with the purchase.

Love our Freelander!!!
We have a 02/15 build Freelander. We luv it, it is very luxurious inside and tough outside. Had a couple of minor issues that were corrected under warranty at first service. We have done nearly 20,000kms on both bitumen and dirt and it has held up as promised. The support we get from the Lotus community is awesome!

Not happy
Have a 4 year old Lotus Freelander. Paid for extended warranty. On our last trip in February without warning the strap on the front water tank broke and the water tank fell down causing it to rupture. We have been waiting since then to get it fixed. When the repairman sent of the quote to the extended warranty insurance we were advised that this is not part of the warranty and therefore they would not pay. Surely this is caused by manufacture fault and should be covered. This is the second time we have been knocked back on a claim. Since...Read more
getting the van we have had many problems which are too numerous to mention. We are very disappointed with Lotus and their quality. We have spent a lot of extra money getting this van to how we want it and do not think we should have to get rid of it for something else which may cause us problems too but one would think that when you spend the amount you do on a brand new van you should be able to expect some service. We had a Jayco for 10 years prior to buying this on and had no problems whatsoever.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Lotus no more!
We had a 2016 Lotus Freelander 21'6. Travelled with it for 8 months and sold it as we were very disappointed with it and the service of Lotus. We went to their factory in Melbourne to get problems sorted, but were told to take it to a dealer, did not want to know about us! Had problems with self closing draws, some collapsed. Floor squeaked and the lino uplifted on the edges, front door handle was not properly fitted, screws fell out of cupboard latches and could not open some. Also power points and antenna connections were put on the spla...Read more
shback and not inside the cupboard where they are not seen. Thought we were getting a premium caravan, but not so for the price and we did not go off-road. If you're considering a Lotus, check out how they are put together at the factory first.1 comment

Lotus Off Limits - A pleasure to own
We are the owners of a 23 foot purpose built 2015 Off Limits Lotus Van. As the build was being done we asked that the factory send photos of all the different steps taken while building so that we would be aware of where the wiring etc had been placed, in case we needed to know later on, no problems at all, photos were taken and sent to us as the built was taking place. This van has been wonderful right from the start. We found a few minor problems after taking this van on it's first major off road trip such as a few screws coming loose (which ...Read more
were replaced by the company with longer screws) and losing one of our shell clips on a draw and a problem with our Fusion Radio but as they say these were just minor things and after contacting Goce at the Lotus factory any and all of these problems were fixed. The van is a pleasure to own and I would recommend to anyone. :)Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Lotus Freelander - fantastic caravan!
We're the second owners of a 21'6" 2015 Lotus Freelander. Lovely van, no problems at all - have travelled extensively in the van. Very comfortable, great finish and great looking!. Really love the van and happy to recommend to others. No problems at all - happy on the dirt or the blacktop. Do it in comfort with a Freelander!
Our Jeep Grand Cherokee tows her with ease. Good payload of over 800kg too. Very happy!

have just been away for 3 weeks in the Kimberley, we are very happy with how the van has handled off and on road, the finish is high quality. My husband says he would rather tow on the dirt (GRR) and Cape Leveque Rd than on the bitumen, our dealer Luxury RV Mandurah have been very helpful and accommodating and we would recommend a Lotus to family and friends.1 comment

Lotus Freelander. Expensive lemon -- no stars
My 2014 Lotus Freelander 10th Anniversary Limited Edition lemon is not compliant to Australian Standards for electrical safety. The left hand indicator shorts in the wall and blows fuses. The brakes overheat even after being inspected three times and repaired twice. So it is not roadworthy. There are over 30 other defects, some of them safety related.
I tried for two months to get Lotus to organise repairs, with no success. Two months before that the dealer just sent me off to the appliance manufacturers to get repairs, which is not legal u...Read more
nder Australian Consumer Law. In August 2015 I had had enough and rejected the caravan and asked for a refund. This was refused. We are still fighting for a refund in November 2016. It was illegal to sell us this caravan in the first place because it is non compliant to Australian Standards. I have no confidence in the brand and know of at least 15 other owners in similar situations. That means there are many, many more. The manufacturing is very poor, their customer service is non existent if you have major problems. They run away and blame you for any defects. They are expensive bling on the outside and cheap rubbish on the inside. The whole thing has been heartbreaking, financially expensive and caused health and well being issues. It was my home but now I house sit because I can't use it. I am still paying off the loan. I am not sure how this is going to be resolved. Avoid any Lotus Caravan at all costs. All models have lemons and their culture is one of blame the customer. Feel free to message me for more details.2 comments
There has been a positive review campaign initiated by the Lotus Caravans Owners Group to drown out the honest negative reviews. Check out the review dates. This company has been repeatedly reported for breaching numerous laws. Buyer beware.
Lotus Caravans also sued me for injurious falsehood and defamation when I had only told the truth about my caravan and their business. Eventually they discontinued the case against me because they rea... Read more
lly didn't have a case. I believe it was purely vexatious litigation. This is the sort of company you will be dealing with if you purchase from them. I am not alone. I know many other very unhappy Lotus Caravan owners.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
