Loving my Luvele!
I am a follower of "Undoctored" with Dr. William Davis. He advocates making L. Reuteri Yogurt. I made my first batch of yogurt with the Luvele Pure Plus Yogurt maker last week. I added strawberries and Stevia liquid clear to the yogurt and it was delicious. The Luvele yogurt maker is my new best friend in the kitchen.

Australian made, excellent quality, perfect yoghurt!
I absolutely love my Luvele yoghurt maker! Really happy to support Australian made, the product is excellent quality and makes perfect yoghurt. The ability to properly stabilise temperature and carefully control the time my yoghurt ‘cooks’ is very important to me to maximise the probiotic benefit. The Luvele machine makes it so easy and I love that you offer a glass option, the 2 litre jar is brilliant.

I’m in Love Luvele!!
I was looking for a GAPS friendly yoghurt maker and this one was the perfect choice. I’m so glad I stumbled across it online. This is my first yoghurt maker and definately worth ever dollar spent. I made my first batch yesterday using Barambah Organic whole milk and Jalna Natural Greek Yoghurt as a starter culture, the result was Devine. Thick, tasty gut loving yoghurt, what more could a girl ask for. Thanks so much Luvele !!!

Greek yoghurt success!
I have finally had success making Greek yoghurt just how I like it. It seems the key was using yoghurt with live cultures as the starter, rather than using culture sachets. I have frozen leftover starter culture and will use it in a couple of weeks for the next batch of Greek yoghurt; hopefully freezing the yoghurt won’t impact the process and there’ll be delicious yoghurt at the end! The Luvele team has been most helpful in guiding me along the way- no question is too much trouble to answer.

A great product!
I am loving my Luvele Pure Plus Yogurt Maker! The yogurt is delicious and creamy and so easy to make - I don't think I'll ever go back to eating store bought yogurt again! So far I have only made the SCD yogurt using cow's milk but am looking forward to making it using goat's milk and coconut milk. Thanks Luvele for an excellent product.

Great little machine
Love the yogurt maker. I have been able to make consistently wonderful thick yogurt. The machine takes the guess work out of temperature control.
Fast delivery, especially considering I am in rural NSW!
Will now try making natto as well.
Would have like the ebook as well. Did not realise this was an extra cost.

This is my first yogurt maker and I love how easy the process is. I was expecting a really runny consistency according to recipes I found online, but the finished product is really creamy and delicious. The recipe book has a lot of great creations Im looking forward to trying. l love that I get to control what goes inside my yogurt and that I am no longer creating so much single use plastic waste with store bought yogurt! Thanks Luvele for exceeding my expectations!

Very easy. Very good!
It's early days, but l've made a few batches of yogurt now. The yogurt was thick, creamy and tasted great. The machine was very quiet and easy to clean up. It took me a while to find an Australian supplier who made glass inserts ( rather than plastic) to culture the yogurt in, but when l found Luvele l also found out about the 24 hour SCD culturing in the YouTube. Thanks for that! The instructions were very easy to follow and the parcel arrived quickly and in good condition. The only issue for me was from a sustainability point of view l would have appreciated a more earth friendly inner packaging than polystyrene.

Finally success with non dairy yoghurt
Goat milk yoghurt is finally acceptable to my young children! Thick enough and tastes good. Thanks to the wonderful yoghurt maker and the right yoghurt starter and gelatine based thickening agent. All suitable fur SCD. Luvele team went out of their way to advise on where I could obtain the products to suit our needs. No cheap coming from Australia, hope to find a nz source for future use. Now that I know what I’m looking for. And the booklet is very informative.

Makes delicious SCD yoghurt
Made yoghurt for the first time with this excellent yoghurt maker. Its easy to follow the instructions and get going. The yoghurt is thick and creamy, I used Yoplait Greek yoghurt which has the right strains of bacteria for SCD. It was shipped to NZ with minimal effort and arrived well packed, the communication was excellent. Thank you very much.

Loving the Luvele Pure Plus Yoghurt Maker
I've made my first batch of 24 hour yoghurt and loved the result - thick and pleasantly tart. This was so much easier and the result so much better than my efforts of incubating in an esky. The unit is compact and the temperature control and timer remove all the guess work.
The customer service was also exceptional. The unit arrived in very quick time and my questions were answered very promptly - within an hour or two. Well done!!

My 3rd Luvele kitchen appliance-compact, efficient, and it works!!!
Last month, I purchased the Luvele Pure Plus Yogurt Maker. I have been experimenting with different types of milk and yogurt starters for almost a month now.
The results have been better than expected in each trial.
This is the 3rd kitchen appliance I have purchased from Luvele, and at this rate, it won't be the last.
I purchased the yogurt maker on 28 January 2018, and it was delivered on 30 January 2018. Superfast shipping and delivery again.
The box contained the yogurt maker, the 2 litre glass jar, and the instruction booklet.
I first washed the glass Borosilicate jar and the bpa free lid. ...Read more
I opened 1 bag of Easiyo and added it to 1 litre of cold water. Mixed them together and poured directly into the glass jar and closed the lid. I placed the jar in the yogurt maker and added the water to the top of the tall water line. The lid was then placed over the machine. Pressed on, set temperature to 38°C for 8 hours. The machine warmed up and some condensation appeared on the plastic lid. The next morning the machine beeped to let me know the time was up. I placed the jar in the fridge for several hours. The result was the thickest set yogurt I have seen in ages which was not too tangy. Next batch, I tried the traditional method of heating 2 litres of fresh full fat milk from woolies to 90°C with the thermometer inserted into the milk pot. When it cooled to 40°C, I mixed 1/3 of a cup of fresh yogurt from the previous batch along with 4 tablespoons of milk powder and added to the warm milk. Same settings as 1st batch. The result was a thick and slightly tangy yogurt. 3rd batch, I used 2 litres of long life full fat milk (Devondale) that was in my pantry. I mixed 1/3 of a cup with 4 tablespoons of milk powder and added to the milk (I did NOT heat the milk). Same settings as previous batches. The result was perfectly set thick yogurt with a slightly tangy taste. This week I used powdered milk to make 2 litres of milk (no heat) and added the Mad Milliie yogurt sachet. Same settings as the previous batches. The result was thick set yogurt. I have made creamy labne (yogurt cheese) from the yogurt I made. I love how I can skip the heating process and still get thick yogurt. Cleaning the yogurt maker is very simple. You pour out the water to the either side which avoids water on the electric components and towel dry. The jar and lid are easily cleaned with a little warm water. Note:The jar lid has a rotating dial on it to select the date you made the yogurt. I used to make yogurt the traditional way heating and covering with blankets overnight. The results were hit and miss. Never again! Luvele Pure Plus Yogurt Maker is a reliable time saving machine using a water bath technology for consistent incubation and perfect results each time. Luvele, luv, luv it!!!1 comment

Greek yoghurt with first batch - happiness!
First up the yoghurt maker arrive earlier than I expected which put me in a good mood. They dispatched it really fast after my online purchase. I made my first batch. Absolutely delighted with the result. I went for a 10 hour process & was really happy with the result. Lovely & creamy. I really wanted Greek style yoghurt so after refrigerating I tipped the entire container into my sieve double lined with muslin. The result was exceptional. I thought it would be a messy process but no. After 2 hours I tipped my new Greek style yoghurt back into the pot & threw the muslin in the washing machine. Next up I’m going to strain for 24 hours & make labne. Happy purchaser.

Worth the wait!
I pre-ordered this machine back in July, knowing that it may take a few months to get here. Even though there was a slight delay it was totally worth the wait. Plus Luvele where quick to respond to my concerns along the way. I had one of their original Pure Yogurt Makers, having handed it on to my brother when I pre-ordered the new machine I was hanging to make my own yogurt again. I don't use the 24 hour feature however I am back to making my own Greek style yogurt again, and I couldn't be happier with this machine. It's easy to use, I just ch...Read more
op up some fruit every morning and breakfast is done. I have also noticed that with this machine the texture of my yogurt is smoother in this machine than my last. I'm keen to see some more 24 hour recipes from Luvele so I can take advantage of the health benefits as well. Very happy all the same. I highly recommend this machine, and Luvele are doing a great job.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Hi i have just bought the yogurt maker and want to start making yogurt with raw milk but I am reading conflicting advice, do I heat raw milk or not?
I have read that the raw milk bacteria compete with the yogurt starter and takes over the bacteria from the yogurt starter. What's your opinion on this?
Also I want to use raw cows milk (not got raw goat / sheep milk yet) but use sheep yogurt with live cultures, is this ok?
I'v read that if using raw milk the culture needs to be started in pasteurised milk first, is this true?

HI
I have found that regardless of whether the milk is raw or not I have had to heat it to 80*C for 10 minutes. Otherwise it does not thicken properly.

Hi, thanks for your question. I can totally relate to your concerns and good on you for doing some research into this. When it comes to raw dairy you will find diverse and sometimes alarmist information.
I am not an expert but I have done my share of research too. I’m not sure where you are from but in Melbourne, real raw milk is illegal to sell. I’m going to assume you have access to a dairy – Lucky you! I have never made yogurt from fresh raw milk yogurt. I have only used organic raw milk marketed as ‘Bath milk’ and ‘Made by Cow’ which is quite different from the ‘real’ thing and very safe.
First up, I would enquire about the health & wellbeing of the cows. It is important they are antibiotic & hormone free. The beauty of raw milk is that you DO NOT need to heat the milk to make yogurt. The native bacteria and live enzymes are killed off it heated and is essentially pasteurisation. Furthermore, the milk also must be very fresh. Sterilization of your yogurt glass jar is important – also consider contamination – what was the milk transferred in etc?
I imagine that there is always a risk that if the milk contains bad bacteria of some kind, that it could out number the good bacteria in your starter culture. Throughout history, I’m sure this has always been a possibility. Your nose will tell you if this has happened. Our yogurt makers are the perfect environment for yogurt starter culture to thrive so I would imagine this is rare in a consistent, stable environment.
I have never used sheep yogurt as a starter culture in cow’s milk before. Sorry, I can’t give you first-hand experience with that. I have only an intuitive response.
I am concerned that commercial yogurt won’t have enough good (or alive) bacteria in it to re-inoculating raw milk. If there are only a few specifies left they will have a big fight on their hands to compete with everything else in the milk. (I may be wrong) I personally never make yogurt from commercial yogurt based on I want the most therapeutic and probiotic yogurt possible. I only use a freeze-dried starter culture. A sachet of starter culture makes enough yogurt for a year and I it is perfect every time. Feel free to give it a go though. Use ½ a cup to give it a good chance.
I would agree that raw milk would require a dairy based starter.
Keep in mind that raw milk yogurt will be very runny – similar to goat milk yogurt. If you use Made by Cow milk, the yogurt is as thick as conventional milk. I make yogurt from Demeter, biodynamic full cream unhomogenised or Made by Cow and both have a thick layer of cream on top - amazing – but neither would be as beneficial as raw.
