An everyday essential for me and my baby
I love our Manduca carrier and have used it almost every day since my now 4.5 month old's first outing at 1 week, with no sign of slowing down.
The newborn support is great (3.5kg min) and it transitions well to being used for a larger baby (~8kg now). Mums I know with Ergo and Baby Bjorn are jealous of how easy it is to put this on by yourself.
Reasons to get any carrrier:
-if you walk a lot, particularly in the inner city where there are kerbs, difficult access etc.
- if you live in a house/ unit with stairs
- if you don't want to lug a heavy pram in and out of the car just for a short trip to shops.
- help baby sleep, especially when very young, and get your hands back.

-easy to take on and off for newborns and bigger babies -comfortable and no heat issues even in summer - easy to adjust between users (me and hubby switch regularly) - buy this and you don't need a sling Cons: - the navy colours have faded quite quickly, even before it was washed. Maybe the camel/ tan colour would be better - the cross-strap arrangement looks great but I found hard to adjust and put onSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
keeps my baby happy
Its a great carrier. my baby is able to sit up and he loves it. at first he was very apprehensive at first as was i. but after 3 uses he realised that its for walkes and loves it. the shoulder pads are comfortable and the buckle to connect the shoulder pads really secure them. my only suggestion would be to make sure you dont have the waist buckle to high. the shoulder straps below can press up against babys legs (especially if he has muscly(chubby) legs.)
can be used as a back pack (only when baby can sit up), front facing you and apparently side ways. (never tried that yet). but love this carrier.

A life savior!
A great carrier, our newborn loves it, it's the only place where he calms down straight away & quickly falls asleep. It's very comfortable and easy to use, only takes a few times to get used to put it on. The fabric is great. Would recommend to anyone with a new baby.

Comfortable, quality carrier
I love my Manduca. Don't be daunted by the straps - once you've put it on a few times it's super easy. It is the most comfortable carrier I have/tried (I also own a Baby Bjorn and was lent a Mothercare and Mini Monkee).
Pros:
- So comfortable. Doesn't put strain on your shoulders as all the weight sits on your hip. I've worn my baby for a couple of hours without any issues.
- Well made. Materials are quality, straps are easy to adjust, everything feels sturdy. Really important when it comes to something holding your baby up.

Makes life with little bub so much easier!
I got the ocean coloured Manduca sling wrap just before bub was born and love it! On in the morning and off I go. Nice material for Australian weather too.

Comfortable and easy!
Thw Manduca carrier is excellent. It is easy to get on and simple to use. I love that you don't need any additional inserts for newborns and you can cross the back straps which make it really comfortable. I had an Ergo 360 but now swapped to this, I wish I had it from the start.

Winner especially for summer baby
I had a baby born in aussie summer and could not decide on a carrier, so glad we chose this. It is great from birth as it has an inbuilt infant insert unlike ergo which has a separate bulky one. It is a super adjustable carrier but easy to use for both me and my hubby. Very comfy all day. We love it

Great carrier
I purchased my manduca second hand for my third child when he was one. It was amazing. To be able to carry him on my back so comfortably for school pick up and drop offs was a great help. I also use it now as a carrier for my #4. Took a bit of practice with her as a newborn but once we got the hang of it I couldn't go without it. It is super easy to wash, and cleans up nicely. It still looks great. It's the most comfortable carriers have owned by far. My kids love it!

The best i love it!
My favorite! I have a heavy boy and i am into carriers to save my back. This is my go to. Is so easy to use it stays in the car so i have it when I'm out. Didn't need inserts when he was little it adjusted as he grew with the inbuult support. The waist support is strong and wide well padded. The shoulder straps well padded and easy clasp at back with a cross over option (but its easier to put on if not crossing over). Baby sits well . Hips at good angles and back supported with height options. A little hood to cover if he falls asleep b...Read more
ut i never used it just stays tucked away. Love the option for back carrying is just like a backpack. Hip wearing I'm not into it puts strain on me but had nothing to do with the carrier. My boy loves it and never Complains.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Very good for a toddler
Just purchased this baby carrier in the Classic Range in Red for a 14-month old and it is very good so far. I used it in the last month in the front position with and without the extension open while shopping and getting around in airports. The toddler felt asleep in it and I extended it easy and used the little hood to support the head. My favorite thing is the back carrier for short walks. I can tell it is not easy by yourself to place your kid in it and to release but with another person around it goes well.

Best baby carrier out there!
Am using my Manduca for my second child, this time from newborn. We originally purchased the Manduca when my older child outgrew the BabyBjorn at 6 months and we needed a carrier for travelling abroad. This really is the best one around. Better than the Ergo, better than the Stokke, WAY better than the BabyBjorn. Comfortable even when carrying a 15kg toddler - as long as you adjust the hip belt properly so you are distributing the weigh correctly around hips and not carrying the weight on your shoulders/back. Currently using to carry my 3 week ...Read more
old newborn around the house. Even post-C section, it's safe and easy to carry baby around, especially useful when you have a toddler that doesn't want to sit around all day! It doesn't sit on or rub the scar, and holds baby close to body so no pressure on belly. Highly recommended.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

A great carrier :)
I purchased a manduca for my third baby after using several others for my previous children. It is super easy o use and adjust, comfortable for carrying on the front and allows for my baby to be in the optimal "m" position. I have back problems and have not had any issues with this carrier and definitely recommend it for others. I have not yet used it or back carries.

So happy with mine!
This carrier is amazing! I was hesitant to get one but am so happy I did. My 3 month old daughter loves it and just falls asleep in it, I used it when grocery shopping on the weekend and also use it when taking bubs and our dog for a walk as it is too hard with a pram. Absolute life saver. My daughter is little and I just use the newborn insert for her and cross the straps over at the back as I find it more comfortable that way. I can go for an hour walk and have no discomfort or soreness. When it first arrived I thought I'd never work it out, but I got the hang of it after a few goes and it is now so easy! Great investment :)

So uncomfortable
I was given this as a gift & told it was the best on the market ? That being said I wont try any others then, I don't see how it's worth $170 at all, the shoulder straps are way to bulky & they sit way too far out on your shoulders & constantly feel like they are going to fall off & you can't adjust them to be tighter because if you do you wouldn't be able to reach around to the rear clip, the baby was ok as a newborn in the froggy position but outgrew the back length within a few months even with the extension raised, after the newborn stage ...Read more
i was afraid to put bub in there due to the legs being splayed so far apart, besides the fact that she screamed murder & hated it, so sad really because she is a cling baby & I & her would love to baby wear but this contraption was just too uncomfortable & way too hard to adjust & I did try about 20 times, Ive sold it now for some other poor person to deal with.Similar opinion? Great value
We decided to buy a baby carrier when our daughter was going through a phase of hating everything other than being carried - went into the store wanting to buy a carrier that would support her in the 'm' position and thought there was only one option. Were surprised to find a couple of options- Manduca was the second option we tried and she settled within seconds of being in there (whereas she seemed very uncomfortable in the other options we tried). Love the fact that there is a newborn pocket build in - something that costs extra with some other brands. The Manduca was the cheaper option at our local baby store and the one our daughter loved.

Loving it
I bought a manduca to go overseas with for my 17mo 13kg boy made going through airports a breeze! So much easier putting him on my back and carrying him around than trying to get the pram around. It's only good if you cross the straps if bub is carried at front I found uncrossed the straps would just slip off and hurt my neck. Bit tricky when it's brand new learning how to use the clips and adjusting but once you get the hang of it you will love it

Great for babies big and small!
Easy to put on and take off. Baby sits belly to belly with you there's nothing in the way. Bubs weight is evenly distributed for the wearer so even a 2 year old doesn't cause too much strain. You can adjust the carrier to suit yourself for optimal comfort.

Baby loves it, and it'd ergonomically sound as well
I bought this after doing some research on carriers and was impressed on the ergonomics of it and how the baby's hips and legs are in an M position. My husband loves using it as much as i do, and baby falls asleep in it every time she's in it. She's only 2 months old and have found it very suitable for a newborn with nothing extra needed. i look forward to using it as she grows as well.
Weight is distributed well so no pain, baby is happy, very gender neutral so husband can wear it too
A bit fiddly to use at first

Baby loves this!
I looked at a number of baby carriers and had bought a couple of different ones before falling in love with this carrier! My little one falls asleep everytime I put him in it! He also loves sitting tall in it and having a big look at the world while I walk around!
I purchased this carrier mainly because it is hip friendly, my son is at risk of hip dysplasia, so knowing that this carrier puts my son legs and hips in the correct position was fantastic. I love the easy to put on design too!
Hip friendly, easy to put on
Wish it came in a summer material as I live in a hot climate. Also couldn't work out the infant support

Questions & Answers
Rebecca Dasked
How is the Manduca in Australia's 30-40 degree Summer?
1 answer
Sean R.Manduca
Sorry we took so long to answer your question Rebecca. The feedback we get indicates that Manduca works well in warm climates - obviously wearing any baby carrier will be a little warmer than normal, but Manduca is made from natural fibres (organic cotton and hemp) that are breathable and naturally promote moisture wicking. It has a hood/sunshade that will help shade your baby too - and a large hat for you also helps.
Some other commonsense ideas are to dress lightly, keep baby and yourself well hydrated and to consider cooling pads that are available for babywearing from a number of sources.

Can this be used for child facing outwards of the body?

Sean R.Manduca
Thank you for the question. Manduca isn't designed to be able to face children forward. We believe that a baby learns most from watching their parent at very close range, and this improves their ability to read and sense emotions, and helps develop language skills. If you're interested in these thoughts, you could read our blog article here: http://www.manduca.com.au/#/babys-bq/4590158633
As Manduca official already answered...it's can't be used for facing forward baby.
If you are in Sydney...and you have Facebook account...feel free to join baby wearing group....we all talking about baby wearing alot...I guarantee that most mummies and daddies not recommended about facing forward baby.
These some reasons :
1. It's over stimulating for baby
2. We can't face the baby so we don't know what's going on to the baby
3. The more heavy the baby the more baby put pressure when you carry facing forward...it's not good for your back also for the baby
It's save facing forward it's just not recommended but Manduca definitely can't facing forward.
As I said manduca maybe not the prettiest baby carrier on the market but definitely the safest!!
