I would highly recommend the Manduca Baby Carrier to anyone searching for a baby carrier. You can use it front, hip or on your back and it looks great at the same time. Both myself and bub are so comfortable wearing it, I can't believe the difference from my old carrier.
The Manduca Baby Carrier is fantastic - both bub and myself are so comfortable and can wear it for hours. I often need to be out with bub for hours on end so it is perfect.
I also get alot of compliments on the design colours/pictures. It is a very stylish carrier too which is a big bonus. :)
Nothing, I love love love it.

Fantastic carrier for such a wide age range, from newborns to preschoolers! It's quick to put on and take off, with lots of adjustments, for different sized wearers.
Fantastic carrier! The waist is THE best, it's still comfy with my now 16kg son in it. I love how the panel extends for older kids. The carrier is very well designed and extremely well made. I like how this carrier can fit a wide range of users. I'm not small (size 18 or so) and it's so comfy!
More colour options for the panel would be nice :-)

I tried lots of carriers before finding the Manduca. The Bjorn hurt my shoulders when bubs hit 5kg and the Ergo rubbed under my arms like mad due to the buckle positioning. I love that the Manduca's headrest folds away neatly into it's own pocket when not in use but is easily accessible if needed. The extendable back is perfect for taller babies and as they get older. My son just looks incredibly comfortable in this carrier in a way he didn't with any other, and he almost always falls asleep within 10 mins of being in it. Easy to use in all 3 p...Read more
ositions, front, back and hip. The Manduca has been a lifesaver! It's great to know that on the days when all he wants to do is cuddle I can have him in the carrier most of the day and know we will both be comfy. Also great to breastfeed in with a bit of practice. Can praise it enough! So comfy to wear. I can have my 8kg bub in it for hours and it never becomes uncomfortable for either of us. Bought a bjorn first and just didn't seem right to have my son dangling from his crotch. The Manduca spreads his legs in a more natural way and has him in the correct M shape for hip and spine development. Waist strap is nice and long for more curvy parents. Easy to adjust to different wears. Love it! Wish they had some accessories like the ergo does. Nothing else. It has been amazing.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

I love my manduca I take it everywhere with me when doing shopping It's in the pram just incase bubs gets unsettled, going to beach or park, my son falls asleep better in the Manduca than in the pram. In the pram bubs has too much to look at while in the Manduca he can't see too much and doesn't have that over stimulation like he does in the pram and falls alseep easily. Took it with me on a flight to Sydney and my family commented on how versatile it is. I can wear bubs on front, back or hip but at the moment I wear bubs at front and he's 8 mo...Read more
nths old and weights 8.3kgs. I love it that I can throw it in the washing machine on gentle cycle and comes up clean I had another baby carrier 4 yrs prior for my daughter and I didn't use it when she past 3 months cause she felt heavy in it and my shoulders and back were aching. The Manduca I can wear for hours with no discomfort. I can even carry my 4 yr old on my back in the Manduca, at least I know that I'll get a few more years out of it. Easy to use, I can carry bubs for hours on end with no discomfort, bubs falls asleep in the manduca and is very comfy for both bubs and me. Can fold up really small to fit in the nappy bag. The head rest folds away and can be used if need to. Has a built in newborn insert. Can carry child from Newborn (newborn insert) to 20kgs or pre-school age Nothing so far wish I had it earlier.

Wish I bought earlier
I have used a sling for 3 babies for the first 2 months and have liked them but I sprained my back during my last pregnancy and found I am now unable to use a sling so I looked for a replacement carrier for my newborn. I found it in the Manduca baby carrier. I have not invested in a carrier for newborns in the past because I don't like how there legs just hang down. With the Manduca there is an insert that is used as a seat for the baby and they squat. With another carrier similar to the Manduca I was considering you had to buy the newborn i...Read more
nsert separately and when I read reviews on the insert they weren't positive. There is a zip across the back which extends the height, therefore supporting the babies neck. The attached hood(which hides away in its own pocket) is great for when I am in wind, or for when she is asleep. I take my baby to work with me and have her in the Manduca carrier for several hours a day. I have had no back pain from it. It does not pull down on my shoulders, therefore I can maintain good posture. She is very settled in it and with minor adjustments (putting it slightly lower on the hips, I can breastfeed while I am going about my business). I wish I had found this carrier when I had my other babies. It is fantastic. I have only tried it in the front position so far but I would say this is one of those baby purchases that I wouldn't do without. Can use from newborn without buying special inserts. Newborn is in correct "M" position, no legs hanging out. Easy to breastfeed while wearing it.1 comment

Love this Baby Carrier
My baby is nearly 8 kg and this is such a comfortable baby carrier, I can wear it for hours and not get a sore back or shoulders. I find it very easy to use once you have your straps in the correct position. My baby seems very comfortable in the carrier as he is happy to sit in the baby carrier while I go about what I have to do and he falls asleep no problem as well. I believe it is very supportive for my baby's back and doesn't put any pressure on his crutch or hips. It is also very easy to take your baby out of the baby carrier if they fall...Read more
asleep and you want to lay them down. I like the canopy to protect him from the sun and also put on when he is asleep. The carrier is also great as my husband is very happy to use it as it is not gender specific and because the straps are all adjustable and easy to adjust. The carrier is very well made and the little front pocket is handy to place money and keys in.It is also good as you can wear it on your front, back and hip. I like that it is comfortable, has good padded shoulders, the waist band is very supportive, your baby is held in the carrier nice and securely. Good quality. The shoulder strap is a little hard to adjust once it is on you. It could get a little hot in the summer as it is made from cotton/hemp canvas.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

No back/neck/shoulder strain when carrying bub
My boy is 9kg and I can carry him for long lengths of time without it hurting. The carrier is well made, and easy to adjust between Mum and Dad. Baby is always calm in the carrier, in fact we've had it now for about 5 months and I don't recall him crying in it, whereas he can get grouchy in the pram. I've not yet tried the hip or back positions.
'M' shape better for baby's posture, well made, price was right.
Only able to use with baby facing in.

Was wanting to know if this carrier is still good when a baby weighs over 12kgs?
Hi Mel, he's about 12kg now, and 19mths so much prefers to walk, so although I know that Manduca says that the carrier can accommodate much more weight, I've not actually tried him in it recently.
Thanks for that!! We've got a 16m old that currently weighs 10.5kg but we're off to USA in Jan & I've been trying to figure out whether to get the Quicksmart Easyfold ( which is great for its conveni... Read more
ent size it folds down to, but I don't like that it doesn't recline) or perhaps a baby carrier (for the plane trip) & buy a pram (that fully reclines) in the USA. Went to a store to checkout the Manduca & the lady @the store said she didn't recommend them for babies over 12kgs.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great Carriers
This baby carrier is fantastic! I did alot of research between the manduca and the ergo baby. I went with the manduca because I liked how the straps could cross over at the back. Also the strap that holds the straps together is adjustable which is good for when my husband wears the carrier as he is alot taller then me. I dont have any shoulder pain when wearing this carrier. My baby is 6 months old and I use the carrier to do my weekly shop and occasionly when I go for a walk in the afternoons with my dog. The fabric is nice. I live in a very h...Read more

I fairly recently moved from Germany to Australia. Quite a few of my friends in Germany have had great experiences with the Manduca baby carrier and recommended it to me. I’m really pleased the Manduca is in Australia now. I have a very big baby and couldn't use the other carriers. I agree with cuppo and bubcarrier that it’s not hard to use once you adjust the straps. Very good quality and design.
Comfortable, padded shoulders, easy to use

A brilliant soft structured baby carrier
The Manduca is such a great baby carrier. It keeps babies legs in the optimal 'M' position, it is comfortable to wear and comfortable for baby to be in. The way the Manduca has been designed is brilliant, with the inbuilt infant carrier and the extra unzippable panel, this carrier will suit almost all babies no matter how big or small with no need to buy additional parts. Also, Manduca uses organic materials in their carriers by default, no need to choose a more expensive model to benefit from organic materials.
Very adjustable, comfortable, optimal positioning, organic materials, inbuilt infant carrier, extra long back panel, sleeping hood

Comfortable both Parent and Baby
I purchased this for my second baby after not being happy with the carrier we used with our first. THis is fantastic. So comfortable to use and my baby just loved it, as a newborn he would fall asleep almost instantly every time. Even now he is older he still loves being close to us while riding on our back in piggy back mode.
Comfort, there are no pressure points and the weight is carried in your hips rather than shoulders. It doesn't change your own centre of gravity so keeps you stable on your feet. Baby has their weight on their bum rather than crotch. Can be used from birth (without additional attachments) until toddler years.
A bit fiddly but easy once you get used to it.

hmmm!.....the colour is good
The shoulder straps are way too bulky and feel like they are sitting out way too far.Adjustment is ridiculously fiddly. So difficult to put on when out ~ need two hands for waist band and difficult to do up clip inbetween shoulder straps. Babies head is not supported enough. Babies legs have to spread way too far so mine has to keep his legs in. Oh i do like the colour!

Bad
Being a typical woman, I was drawn to the red colour but I was curious to see if this carrier was better than my beloved ERGO...it wasn't! Ah well, saved my money!
When I tried the sample on in-store it was very disappointing because:
- the shoulder straps were quite narrowe and didn't distribute my baby's weight very well
- there is no head support for young babies
- the straps are quite fiddly to adjust (much trickier than the ERGO)
- the fabric is much thinner and far less sturdy
- i really didn't like the way it made my 2 mth old sp...Read more

OK
Overall it is a good carrier and I think it will be really good as my daughter gets older and can turn her head around, is taller and can fit on my back or hip too. It seems very sturdy and my husband likes to use it too. We purposely avoided the Baby Bjorn because I've heard that larger or taller babies grow out of them earlier and that you have to splay your baby's legs apart. The Manduca keeps the baby's legs in the "M" position or like a frog for longer. My daughter has only just put her legs out the sides. It would be good to be able to us...Read more
e the carrier with your baby facing outwards also. The carrier is comfortable to wear and seems to evenly distribute my daughter's weight I can wear the carrier for long periods of time with no discomfort. We recently travelled overseas with our 10 week old and she slept the entire time in the airports. I got the limited edition one and I love the colour and design. The infant insert is easy to use and much better than the Ergo newborn cocoon which I've seen used and would be far too warm for the climate in Adelaide. There seem to be so many adjustable straps that it gets very confusing. I keep thinking I'm wearing it wrong. My daughter seems to sit very low down in the carrier and struggles to see out the sides as the straps seem to get in her way. As she is getting older she seems happier to be carried so she can see things going on. (I just walked the dog and ended up carrying her!)Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Frustrating - Too Many Fussy Adjustments!
I tried a friend's Manduca carrier for a week or so with my chunky baby since she was geting too heavy to carry in the Bjorn. I used it round the house and out walking the dog but have been totally disappointed with its fussy adjustability. My husband also used the carrier and got frustrated with this design aspect as well. My bub still needs the in-built harness but she would fuss while I tried (with difficulty) to clip her in while on the go. This feature is hard to get secure without having to sit down first (which is not easily possible if ...Read more
you are out and about in a park!) Her little legs also got red marks from being so widely spread apart. When she fell asleep the head support didn't hold her head very securely - I wasn't able to bend down without holding her head first. The waistbelt felt ok on the back but it sits too low on the front which gets annoying when you sit down - it cuts into your crotch! Wanted this carrier to work so much becasuse my friend's baby had grown out of it (could have saved some money!)...but so dissappointed! I'm off now to try an ERGO and see how that works... The red colour. The design principle is almost there with thewaistbelt distibuting baby's weight to your hips but it doesn't work well on the front. Too many points to adjust. Very hard to undo the waist belt when out and about (needs two hands). In built harness left red marks on baby's legs. Sleeping hood not well shaped. Waist belt sits too low on the front and cuts into you.2 comments

How did you go with the Ergo? Trying to decide between Manduca and the Ergo as my bub grown out of the bjorn too...

Questions & Answers
Rebecca Dasked
How is the Manduca in Australia's 30-40 degree Summer?
1 answer
Sean R.Manduca
Sorry we took so long to answer your question Rebecca. The feedback we get indicates that Manduca works well in warm climates - obviously wearing any baby carrier will be a little warmer than normal, but Manduca is made from natural fibres (organic cotton and hemp) that are breathable and naturally promote moisture wicking. It has a hood/sunshade that will help shade your baby too - and a large hat for you also helps.
Some other commonsense ideas are to dress lightly, keep baby and yourself well hydrated and to consider cooling pads that are available for babywearing from a number of sources.

Can this be used for child facing outwards of the body?
2 answers
Sean R.Manduca
Thank you for the question. Manduca isn't designed to be able to face children forward. We believe that a baby learns most from watching their parent at very close range, and this improves their ability to read and sense emotions, and helps develop language skills. If you're interested in these thoughts, you could read our blog article here: http://www.manduca.com.au/#/babys-bq/4590158633
As Manduca official already answered...it's can't be used for facing forward baby.
If you are in Sydney...and you have Facebook account...feel free to join baby wearing group....we all talking about baby wearing alot...I guarantee that most mummies and daddies not recommended about facing forward baby.
These some reasons :
1. It's over stimulating for baby
2. We can't face the baby so we don't know what's going on to the baby
3. The more heavy the baby the more baby put pressure when you carry facing forward...it's not good for your back also for the baby
It's save facing forward it's just not recommended but Manduca definitely can't facing forward.
As I said manduca maybe not the prettiest baby carrier on the market but definitely the safest!!
