Please see below...

Noting also more does not always mean better. There is an optimal diameter of the springs being used and hence a fixed number in that space to give the ideal support / motion when re-positioning yourself on the mattress.

Marce Blanc Mattress

Hi, I am considering purchasing a mattress from you guys, however I need to know what will suit me best. I sleep on my side most of the time, sometimes on my back, which one would you recommend the soft medium, or medium to firm, I just don't want to feel any pain in my hips.

Is it necessary to have a box spring underneath it?, or so you just need a bed frame?

Ryan M.Marce Blanc

Hi Shelley,

Any kind of bed frame is okay for these mattresses.

With regard to firmness, you will see some advise below with previous questions, however if you are over 75kg we normally recommend or have back issues at all, it is best to go for the Medium-Firm. The Soft-Medium is really for light weight customers who prefer to side sleep.

Thank you for replying back, I sleep on my side and back, so if I get a medium firm wil I get pain in my hips lying on my side.

Does this mattress need to be flipped over once a month? Also If I get the 30 cm do I still need the European style?

thanks

Hello!

I am wondering when your Queen soft - medium in the 30 cm will be available? It is out of stock on ebay :(

Also, I weigh approx 60kg and my partner weighs approx 75kg. We are both side sleepers. Is the soft-medium most suited? We prefer a soft bed.

Many thanks,

Hi Brooke,

We are hoping to be back in stock at the end of this week.

If you can please save the eBay listing to your watch list and check back then.

With regard to firmness, it is hard to advise as everyone has their personal feelings about what they deem the correct firmness. However based on you preferring a softer mattress and also your weights and also the tendency to sleep on your side. The Soft-Medium really sounds suited for you :-)

Hi David. I am 6' and 96 kg. I also sleep on my side or front and find this med-firm mattress very good. I spoke with a mattress shop and the lady said it is better to go for a firm mattress, as you can always add a topper to make it softer if it is not suitable, but you cannot make a soft mattress firmer. Hope this helps.

I agree with PhilB18. We also went for the medium-firm. We found the mattress when on holiday and asked the owner about it and where to buy one. It is honestly the best mattress we have ever bought. I used to wake with a sore back and shoulders but not anymore.

Cheers

I am 60kg and prefer a plush mattress and sleep on my side, but have lower back pain. Would the soft-medium provide enough support for me? Or is the medium-hard plush and would be better?

1 answer
Marce Blanc
Ryan M.Marce Blanc

Hi Meg,

It is hard to advise unfortunately as you have 2 separate 'needs' essentially. Normally if you have back pain, the first thing you should consider is a Medium-Firm, however as you prefer the Softer style mattress and you are only 60kg, I personally think will still be supportive enough for you.

I sleep on a Medium-Firm and I am 100kg and sleep on my side generally and this is perfect. The Soft-Medium is okay as well even for me, however when rolling over I do depress this a lot more than I would like. However at 60kg this shouldn't be as pronounced and the Softness you will prefer will be felt more in the Soft-Medium and you should have enough support for your back.

We can only recommend however as it is hard to advise properly as everyone is different, however I hope this helps somewhat to help your thought process on what you should choose :-)

I'm really keen try get one of your mattresses after following your reviews for months. I am 82 kilo but weight can fluctuate and I have been between 63 and 87kg in recent years. I am unsure to get a medium firm or soft medium. I am a side sleeper and occassionally have back pain but I suspect that's from sleeping on crap mattresses all my life. Which one should I get ? And should it be 28cm or 30cm?

Hi Malla,

My sincere apologies for the delay - we have been away on holidays.

Side sleepers generally are recommended to purchase a softer mattress. However in my opinion I would recommend the Medium-Firm as at 110kg this will still confirm sufficiently.

I personally am at 100kg and sleep on a Med-Firm and it is sufficient for me who enjoys both sleeping on my side and also back/front.

Whats the difference between 28 cm and 30 cm? What exactly does that mean?

1 answer
Marce Blanc
Ryan M.Marce Blanc

The 30cm has 2cm more thickness in the EuroTop and therefore, more comfort layers. So there is a slight difference, however it is not dramatic. Both mattresses have the same pocket spring system.

The price difference is more attractive for the 28cm so you will need to balance the comfort difference with your budget allowance. Typically, the 28cm is still a very thick mattress however so 30cm really is a luxury :-)

Hi I am impressed with the reviews. So planning to buy a king mattress medium firm. But as the reviews rave about queen medium-firm and my 3 years old will sleep with me. BTW I am 54 kg and predominantly a side sleeper. My husband 75kg and straight sleeper. So can anyone suggest me what's is the best mattress to buy. Also I am looking to buy another for my 6 year old bedroom and what bed is recommended for her? Replies would be appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

Ryan M.Marce Blanc

Hi Santhi,

Yes - the Medium-Firm is the most popular.

It is a difficult to advise as everyone has different tastes with regard to firmness, however it is generally acknowledged that Side Sleeper who are around the 50 - 70kg mark should be on a Softer mattress and also children above 2. In saying this the Medium-Firm also is okay for side sleepers as well (namely the 30cm) as the EuroTop is 10cm thick and provides sufficient cushion to shape as well.

The Soft-Medium is not however a mattress for you if you have back issues as it don't provide the support.

I hope this helps somewhat :-)

Thank you for your question.

It is difficult to advise based on what you have mentioned, as normally the Soft-Medium is advised for side sleepers who are light weight, however it is quite soft so as you have mentioned you are not keen on a Soft mattress, I would recommend the Medium-Firm in the 30cm version as the extra thick EuroTop should still give enough support for side sleeping.

I hope this helps.

We had an existing box frame and we put the mattress on it. There was no specific requirement for specific base type with the mattress.

Yes - that is correct - there is no specific base required for these mattresses. It is compatible with all bases (slat, ensemble, etc..)

Delivery can only be made during business hours, which for couriers is Monday - Friday.

Please note the courier has authority to leave to prevent having to pick up from their depot or pay for re-delivery if you are not home. So it will be waiting for you when you arrive home if you are not there to sign.

Also, when the tracking information says 'On Board' or 'Out for Delivery' it should then be delivered that day.

Hi, I could not make a decision to but soft- medium or medium- firm, I don't like too firm or too soft, I prefer one more "medium". I'm back or side sleeper, but I'm sleeping with my 16 months old baby as well...Could some one give to me some advice, please?

2 answers

Ryan M.Marce Blanc

Normally - if you are light weight (under 70kg), the Soft-Medium will be preferred as this will conform to your curves better when on your side.

However as you are also sleeping with a baby, I would highly recommend a Medium-Firm as to reduce the chance of the depression from your weight resulting in the baby rolling over. (Note: We are not able to condone the use of our mattresses for use with babies as they are not certified / compliant as such).

The EuroTop being so thick also means it is still okay for side sleepers, just ensure you don't have a mattress topper or other mattress protector as this extra material can really firm up the mattress and negate the benefits of the EuroTop.

We had a super plush mattress and I was worried the firm would be too firm for us, so opted for the soft - medium 28cm one. It is firm but still has a bit of softness, I wouldn't have like to be any firmer. Maybe the 30cm is a bit softer but we are very happy and sleeping well.
