    Fixing the wraptor!

    published

Early this year, I noticed the fan on the Martec MFW 120* was not working on positions 1 & 2. Then Position 3 dropped out. So what is the problem? Here I was experiencing the same issues as others as the Fan stopped working while the light still worked. Eureka!! I have just replaced the Fan switch for a small cost and now everything is nice. Sorry to hear about the problems others have had, but glad my problem is solved.
PS: Note: Start your switch speed at position 3 then reduce it to a lower speed if preferred.

Was great until the fans stopped working.

    published

I brought two of these fans for the bedrooms and initially these fans were great but now after four/five years the fan motors are no longer able to turn the blades. The lights still work. While working these fans provided an excellent of air movement and were really quiet in operation.

Wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy

    published

These fans are an expensive light
My started to slow down after 2 years and was told the speed of the fan is not under warranty.
Would not recommend them to anyone as the warranty is not worth the paper it's written on

    Do not buy from Martec!!

    published

I bought one of the Martec Wraptor fans 3 years ago (and wrote a review here) and this week the fan just stopped working though the light does continue to work. When I rang Martec, I was told that as the fan was out of warranty (by 2 weeks!) that they would not repair or replace the fan. I will now have to take action under the Australian Consumer Guarantee. The person to whom I spoke did not appear to be familiar with the guarantee at all. The fan itself is difficult to clean and while it is quiet, it doesn't push enough air around for the Queensland heat. All in all, a terrible disappointment both with the fan itself and the response from Martec.

    Love my Wraptor

The Wraptor is so cool and is actually a great talking point in our home! Tucks away in nicely, sits there tidily. Only thing to fault is that when you turn the fan on you have to turn on/off the light on the wall, then get the remote, turn the light on/off again with the remote and then you can turn on the fan. Bit annoying but hey, first world problems, am I right?

OK fan but design issue and poor quality construction

    published

I bought one of these. The fan works ok, and it looks ok but:
    1. This fan is designed for a bedroom but a 40W fluoro is too bright. It should use LED lights instead. Also it comes with an unappealing white light fluoro.
    2. Mine was dodgy. It was installed by an electrician but (a) the fluoro supplied didnt work and (b) the electronics for the light didnt work. Two weeks later, an electrician showed up to fix it under warrantee but didnt replace the globe.

In summary, dont bother with this light. Do yourself a favour and buy something else.
Looks good as you cant see the blades when the fan is turned off
The fluoro is too bright. Should be LEDs. Poor build quality

    Excellent for the bedroom

I hate the noise most ceiling fans make especially in the bedroom - these are great good airflow and in this price range the quietest ... worth a good nights sleep & they even look good. I'm recommending them to my friends. Plus they don't collect dust like other bladed fans - only to have it thrown over you at night - yuk
Quiet, quiet, quiet & attractive, don't collect dust like other bladded fans
A little pricey but worth the nights sleep

Looks impressive, noisy humming motor, too noisy for a bedroom.

Had a Wraptor in my bedroom for one day, had it replaced, still has a humming sound from the motor. Had to pay the electrician again to swap it with my Martec Lifestyle fan in my loungeroom. The Lifestyle is completely silent. Very dissapointed in the Wraptor performance. The span of the airflow is quite poor in the dining/loungeroom, unless you're standing directly underneath it.
I'm waiting for the Wraptor Mini to be released soon and will purchase one for my TV/loungeroom area which is about 10 feet away from the dining area where the current Wraptor has been installed.
Looks impressive, bright energy saving light.
Humming noise from the large motor, definately not suited to a bedroom.

Super fan, looks great, works great!!!

Look great and work great. Airflow is good considering is a retractable bladed fan. Replaced 3 fanaways with these, much quieter, more air and look sleeker. My electrician said they were very well built also. Worth every dollar I spent on them.
    Look great and energy efficient
A little pricey for a fan but I still think good value overall

The blades are spring loaded, all I did was pull on them and wipe them down with a wet cloth.

    Thank you.

My child has lost my fan remote and there’s no dial on the wall to turn it on so I can’t use my fan. I have a spare remote that isn’t connected, does anyone know how to connect a remote to a fan?
