Maxi-Cosi Mico AP Isofix

My son absolutely hates being in this capsule as it makes him really hot, he cries while seated in it and comes out all sweaty I wish they would improve on the fabric and make it more breathable and better suited to the weather conditions during the Australian summer season. The only thing I like about this is that fact that IF he does fall asleep then I can carry him without disturbing him and that it clicks into our pram (redsbaby jive2). Also the handle clips being on either end is a nuisance I would be awesome if it was in the middle of the handle instead

This was a great capsule. Our baby slept really well in it, and you could easily click it out of the car, without waking the baby, and place it in the bugaboo pram.

We followed all instructions to install correctly only to find it loose and floppy. eventually found lots of people had found the same problem online too. doesnt work well with some cars and the advice is to use towels to wedge it in so that the base doesnt move.

Great capsule. Used it from birth for our daughter. One lever at the back for easy release of capsule from base. Very sturdy carry handle. Great canopy for shade. Easy to install when we would swap the capsule between our 2 cars (we used isofix which was so so easy). Was nice and snug for our daughter which I found reassuring. I read some reviews saying that it was too tight for their children. Each to their own but I prefer my child to be safe and snug - it’s not called a child restraint for nothing. my daughter was a bigger bubba and I still thought it was great!! we used the Redsbaby pram and again the adapters were very simple to use.

We hired the Maxi Cosi Mico AP when we had our son. It’s a great capsule. It’s really easy to get in and out of the car, it’s light to carry (even when Bub is in it), it’s compatible with our Redsbaby pram and our car (fitted with isofix). It was easy to install utilising the isofix plug in our car. Our little one sleeps in it quite regularly so it must be comfortable for him! The only thing I don’t like about it is it’s quite large when it’s on the back seat so the front passenger ends up sitting on top of the airbag with not a lot of leg space. Overall, still a very good capsule.

Very easy to carry, compatible with pram (redsbaby pram with special attachment) and car (2016 subaru with ISOfix option), very easy to install with video instructions online, however our capsule was professionally installed, and can carry sleeping baby straight from car to house so much easier. Baby sleeps comfortably and nicely in it.

Bought this to go with my pram for easy when baby is asleep and to much to fiddle with getting her in and out. Negatives are it is actually a bit fiddly putting her in and out because of the handle and the anchor point belt - we bought the isofix base because we thought it didn't need the extra belt over the seat but alas, so we have several times had to wriggle her in and out, however once she is in she is nice and secure and the seat was easy to install and feels very safe. Also doesn't weigh too much! Probably a little on the smaller size, but my baby is six months and still using it so not too bad!

Decided to get a capsule for ease with baby number 2 and it was a great decision. So easy to unclick the capsule from the car when we out at the toddler’s activities. The capsule itself is easy to use and buckle up. Having the tether strap is annoying and can weigh down the hood.

The biggest negative is that we paid the extra for the isofix model however when it was installed at baby bunting (where we purchased it) they said there is some problem with the base and fittings that means it is less secure if attached with the isofix points so they don’t do it that way. Apparently the baby bunting staff know this and should have told us so we didn’t spend extra money for no reason.

Absolutely love the fabric and the cute head support. Baby sleeps nicely in it. Capsule was professionally fitted. Yes, I know it's Isofix, but it's always better to be fitted properly. The capsule fits easily on the base and simple to connect the teether strap. Also, quick to put into my pram. Canopy can be improved. The pocket for the teether strap is also quite hidden.

Great capsule however the negative for me is that its very heavy. I can only carry it very short distances i.e (from car to inside house). Its compatable with my redsbaby pram so that is a great feature for me however living in FNQ the.capsule gets very hot and my son has been very sweaty on occasions. We have the isofix model and My husband said it was very easy to install!

When the car seat was being installed by a professional installer it was recommended removing isofix feature as it wasn’t as secure as using seatbelt. Would not have spent extra money on isofix fixture if this had been known. Recommend checking with you installer before purchasing the more expensive model.

We purchased the Maxi cosi with Iso fix. It is so easy to install. We also have a bugaboo pram and the adaptors to put the capsule on to the bugaboo pram so we do not have to wake our little one if she is asleep and we just need to run some errands etc.

After days/weeks of research I picked this capsule only to be disappointed. It makes baby SO hot, the sun cover falls off the back easily when down and the handle makes a loud click so it wakes baby up when I get him out of the car. Also you can't move the handle with one hand which is annoying when I am holding the baby and need to move it. Even with the isofox being installed professionally the seat moves easily from side to side. For the price this is a bad product.

Love how easy it is to go between car and pram with the correct adapters.
Can be slightly awkward to carry at times especially as bubs gets heavier.

Compatible with a few different brands using adapters, I'm using with Baby Jogger City Select.

Isofix was super difficult to try and fit in my car so the professionals fitted it with the seatbelt option.

Child sits in seat well but it does get quite hot and sweaty for them.

As a new mother I was sure that I didn't need a capsule and car seat would do. I was wrong. The Maxi Cost capsule was a life changer for us. My daughter was 4 weeks prem and absolutely hated the car seat. She would wake up to go in and out. The capsule changed everything, I can now move her whilst asleep in and out of the car as well as greater flexibility if I need to go out in general. With the adaptors it fits on my Joolz pram. Sometimes getting it on and off is a little stiff, but this slight irritation is nothing compared to the upside. Love it and would recommend to all new mums. We bought the Isofix version which made it easy to install in the car ourselves.
