Car is good
I really like the car, good rear reviews, GPS, traction, fuel economy is pretty good too! I drive long distances for work and find this car to be quite safe to drive. I don't particularly like Mazda itself, I found the dealers to be really pushy and the customer service overall wasn't all that great. The girl that did all the after sales e.g. tinting was even more pushy and I didn't get a friendly vibe from her.

Great second car for the family
Great steering ( weird to say but first Mazda and I like it )
Plenty of room compared to other hatches and has great safety features (all standard)
Gps is good as is the whole entertainment package
Easy compatibility to use Spotify and synch phone etc
Only thing I don't like is no door lock button
Great car bought from West End Mazda
Great service

Good family car
A nice family car. A little squishy if you have two kids car seats in the back. Would be good if there were back ducts for aircon. The reverse camera is great and the sat nav also comes in handy when it tells you the correct direction. It's a shame that customer service is lacking with Mazda.

Hatchback Love
We are in love with our 2016 Mazda3 Sp25 Astina Bm, we've had it for almost a year now and it hasn't skipped a beat. It's fun to drive with all the added extras like sunroof, awesome sound system and adaptive cruise control which makes long road trips a breeze (wouldn't get a car without it now!).

My first new car
I love my Mazda 3 Touring Hatchback. I've always wanted a red pearl mazda 3 so finally spoilt myself. It's the best money ever spent. I customised the interior with white leather seats and door trims. The car is beautiful to drive and very quiet. The features are current and up to date with voice command actions. It tells you if you're speeding or if there is a red light or speed camera ahead. I could go on and on about it I just Love it. If you are thinking about getting one I recommend it. You will love it to.

Fantastic purchase experience
Will say that we purchased a 2016 SP25 GT mazda 3 from reynella mazda and the best experience ever.
The sales man (Lea) was not pushy and we fou d him decent, honest and his attitude was to tell us all the attributes about the car and we got the feeling that he did not care if we purchased from him or not. (This is not being negative) After visiting other new dealer yards which all seemed to be pushy and sigh on the dotted line now, we just felt so comfortable with this dealership.
Re the car, it drives so smooth and is so quiet, the safety features are the other selling point of this car.
We test drove the toyota's, i30 hyundai and ford.
So far we are so pleased with ournew purchase.

Great Car
This is a great car and I'm glad I bought it. I'm stepping out of a 1997 Falcon with 440,000 ks on the speedo, so it was time for an upgrade. I also drive a 2010 STL Nissan Xtrail.
I'll start with a few negatives.
Speedo-- Probably not a Mazda issue but why does the speedo go up to 260 Km/h when my state limit is 110 Km/h. Why not limit the speedo dial to say, 150kmh. That way the 60 km/h mark would be in a much easier to read position, rather than having to squint and check whether your on 60 or 80, due to its lower positioning where it is n...Read more

Great car, pity about the fuel economy
The Mazda 3 SP25 SkyActiv is a nice car to drive, it looks modern, has comfortable seats, has good driver vision and a nice clear instrument panel. Controls on the steering wheel and stalks are well situated and easy to use. There’s plenty of power with the SP25 but the trade-off is the poor fuel economy. I traded in a 10 year old Honda Civic and expected the fuel economy to be better than the Civic. It's not! The city specs for the Mazda is 6.5 l/100km but I'm getting a consistent 9.0 l/100km around town. Admittedly the engine is 2.5 compared ...Read more
to the Civic's 2 litre engine. The Mazda 3 SP25’s features that I like and find useful are: • Automatic sensing windscreen wipers (These can be adjusted to vary the intermittent rate to the driver’s preference. Very useful, love it!) • Automatic sensing headlights, • The heads up display is one option that sold the car to me. It makes it much easier to keep your eyes on the road and not down at the instrument panel. • Rear parking sensors and vision on the LCD display. • Paddle shift gears on the steering wheel. I use these in conjunction with the brakes to slow down on hills and corners. I used to drive a manual so this is the best of both a manual and an automatic. • The control knob for the touch screen is well placed and very useful. I find this a much better alternative than reaching for the touch screen while driving. It also avoids finger prints on the screen. • Sat Nav is useful and I'm sure I'll use all its options one day. It does alert me to school zones and displays the street map on screen while driving which is useful at times. The map is updated with each Mazda service.Similar opinion? Mazda 3 2.0L direct injection turbo six speed manual, good all round mid sized sedan
I purchased via my employers salary sacrifice allowances a 2016 2.2.L Mazda 3 direct injection turbo, 4 door sedan for the on road price of $26,000.00. Fuel and economy wize it is an excellent and quite fast car which is easy to drive and very reliable. On the down size it does not have much room in the back (this is due to a larger than average boot space that allows for a full sized tyre) it also does not have auto off for the headlights (which suprises me because much cheaper models of cars all have this as standard now) and the car can be r...Read more
ather jumpy in low gears. Also finally the i-stop mode is very annoying in heavy traffic to the point that most times, (unless i am on the open highway) i actually turn it off. Fuel economy is excellent with the car using around 5.7km of fuel on the open highway and around 7.0km in city traffic conditions. The air conditioning is basic and does not have any kind of climate control, but i find it sufficient. I would not recommend this car for families as it is quite small and does not have much pockets or spaces to put things. For a single person or couple (without children) i would recommend. FInally the fixed price servicing (3 years at $220.00 per 10,000 km is excellent value for money. Overall i am happy with my purchase. I believe i got what i paid for.Similar opinion? Awesome Japanese Car
My car is Mazda 3 SP25 GT. This is the best Japanese car I have ever driven. I replace it with my holden svz and find out that how fuel efficient Mazda is. Highly recommended car for anyone. I am planning to buy a Mazda 6 for my wife soon.

Zoom Zoom, I love it!
I am loving this car! Drives beautifully, the steering is so easy, no effort at all. Very little road noise compared to the Hyundai and Kia that I test drove when looking for a new car. The dash is well laid out and easy to view everything. The satellite navigation gets me everywhere I want to go without fail. The reversing camera gives great visuals and alignment, whilst the radar warns me when vehicles are approaching from either cross direction. Seat height adjustment is great for both my partner and myself as we are different heights. Blin...Read more
d spot warning is so handy when wanting to change lanes, fixed speed camera and red light camera warning is an added bonus. So far fuel economy is good, but I don't travel long distances daily so can't comment on long distance economy. The car looks great, feels great and drives like a dream. Plenty of back seat room, cargo room- plenty for the weekly shopping. I love hatches, as back seats can be laid down for extra cargo room for big items. Folding mirrors are great for parking in shopping centre's. It is a solid, reliable car with great performance. Would recommend to anyone wanting a small car that feels and performs like a large car. This car is Fantastic!!
I love my new car, handles like a dream, has the safety pack and has stopped me from having an accident. Great fuel economy. Mazda customer service is excellent. I had hit a bucket on the road at night and I couldn't stop in time, the bucket had bounced on to my bonnet twice and the roof leaving scratches on the car. Mazda said they fix the scratches free of charge.

Love my Mazzy Mazda!
This is a very responsive car, agile and elegant. Reliable, cheap on fuel, and looks great. I chose the Platinum colour. Wasn't fussed on the red option - too pearly and not a warm tomato red. A bit of blue in it. "Mazzy" is easy to park. Perfect for short runs to the shops but also great on long trips. The seats are very comfortable. I love this car.

Love love love my Mazda 3
This car turns heads, love the shape, the colour options. The interior is very well set out. The seats are very comfortable back and front. The leather feels so luxurious. It drives beautifully. Has great pick up. Great in all weather conditions. Very economical on fuel. Handles extremely well, feels like your driving a luxurious rally car! There isn't one bad thing about this car, it's perfect!

Awesome, zippy, fun car which is a pleasure to drive
I upgraded from a Mazda 2, which I kept for 4 years. I loved it at the time, but after moving up to the Mazda 3, the old one felt like a tractor.
The Mazda 3 is super smooth, very easy to drive and looks super sexy too. I love the 6-speed manual transmission, which is fast and fun in the city and quiet on the highways.
The integrated MZD sound system and GPS is the first time I've used a built-in GPS, and I'm a convert now - it's so much easier to use than a portable unit. I set the volume on the GPS to zero and just use the map as a prom...Read more
pt. BlueTooth integration to the phone is a bit patchy, so I use the USB cable to connect my phone directly. The MZD jog-dial control is very easy to use, but has limited controls over the phone, so I normally cue up a bunch of podcasts and listen to them in order - it's no easy to change podcasts while driving unfortunately. Overall I'm really happy with this car, and it's confirmed to me that Mazda are on a roll with their current series of cars. I'd only sell this car to upgrade to a slightly larger Mazda, eg the 6 or CX5.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

seems quite good but early days yet
Looked for manual sedan, bought automatic hatch...dealer supply. Got the Maxx model for the few meagre extras.
6-speed manual in last mazda3, that was good, this auto gearbox seems an excellent performer, probably wouldn't go back to a manual.
Performance adequate, but what you'd expect from 2.0L, throttle response and brake pedal both seem too damped and vague,
but work well in any tight situation...just give them more foot energy.
Handling quite reasonable, driving feel is good. Seems a tad noisy at speed, could be the tyres (Bridgestone...Read more

Love my car
6 speed manual drives smoothly and nicely on the road. Goes well on the freeways and accelerates without trouble.
Interior very comfortable; seats mould nicely to my back support. All controls are easily within reach.
Noisy on certain road surfaces meaning I cannot hear music properly.
Does have a rough idle issue which I am going to discuss at next service.
Love my mazda3!

Pretty good car
Bought my Mazda cx3 neo, even tho I dislike the Hornsby Mazda sales snobs in Sydney... don't buy a car from Mazda Hornsby as for some reason the salespeople think they're hot stuff . All they do is sell cars so their 'stuff' ain't hot! The car is ok other than that.
Easy to drive, suffered massive blunt force trauma in a hit and run but was comfy to drive car even with my multiple severe injuries- apart from the seatbelt that hurts a great deal against shoulder but not Mazda fault.
Great and economical when driving long distances however fin...Read more

Excellent car
I've had the previous model before which was excellent, but this is streets ahead. Quiet, good powerful engine, and lots of additional features. The cameras allow excellent rear view when reversing. You can see around corners which is fantastic. Leather seats are better than the last version. More comfortable.
Overall very impressed, I'm assuming it's going to be as reliable as my last Mazda 3 that never broke down in the 8 years I had it.
Highly recommend this car.

Pleasantly surprised with improvements on previous model
Our previous Mazda 3 Hatch, a top of the line model, had only cloth seats so we had to spend an extra $3,000 to get these but the new Touring option includesLeather and they feel bigger and more comfortable with a better driving postion. In addition the proximity and blind spot warnings are a godsend in the heavier traffic conditions we experience these days especially with drivers on highways like the M1 being more aggresive. There are now 3 anchor points in the rear for child seats, think grandkidsand. The large video screen makes keeping an...Read more
eye out on the rear so much easieras well. We took advantage of a 2016 plate deal and the effective price of our vehicle was over $6,000 less than we paid back in 2011. Fuel economy is less than 60% of what the previous vehicle used and the bluetooth phone options work effectively. One minor complaint. NO CD players any more. A USB is a whole lot less attractive than a CD cover!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Fuel economy on the Mazda 3 2016 GT series 2.5 ltr

there are more fuel efficient cars on the market, but they are not as structurely sound. This is not necessarily a fact, its just I feel safer in her than my friends similar priced cars ie: Hyundi, Kia,
may be get a zimmer, paint work is thin and warranty claims,,,forget it,take care,
Geraldine, other way around! Mazda makes particularly fuel efficient cars, but other cars are more structurally sound.

What is Mazda 3 like on country roads or gravel roads and corrugation etc? How does it handle it?
1 answer
Sorry, can't help there-only driven on sealed roads. It does handle well even on 'lousy' sealed roads. Also handles well on wet roads, even with the rain coming down heavily.

Re comments on fuel economy - has anyone trialled 95 or 98 octane? Results were?
1 answer
Higher octane fuel will improve performance and economy at higher cost. I use the higher octane fuel at higher altitudes or when doing longer distance driving. Mostly depends on your driving style- harsh efforts will cost more. I will not use E10 it is a blatant con. Years ago LPG was a bargain - now I would not use it.
