Why is my BT50 recording conversations and replaying them 2or more years later?
1 answer
Never heard of this one. That poses privacy issues as they could listen to those when vehicle is in for service potentially. I'd be talking to someone about this maybe Fair Trading or Consumer Affairs.

We serviced the bt50 and put a new oil and fuel filter in, started the car and then turned it off after about 30 seconds, now the car won’t start, any ideas
1 answer
No clue whatsovever other than I do know the procedure for an oil change is not as straight forward as most cars. If done incorrectly you can blow the engine.

Hi all I have a 2007 BT50 4wd 3.0 turbo when in overdrive driving anywhere it seems to have less acceleration than when button pushed in to keep out of overdrive? is this normal for this model ?

Mine is 2018 model which is different.
Overdrive is when the engine revolutions are less than the drive shaft revolutions so the engine is at a mechanical disadvantage when under load. It is a cruising gear designed to save you fuel but if you are continually using it for high load running that may not be the case. Selecting "no overdrive" keeps you in a lower ratio gear that makes it easier on the engine because it is now revving faster than the driveshaft output. It's no different to the gears on your pushbike were. The low gears made it easier to peddle but limited speed, the higher gears made it harder to peddle but let you go faster.
Thanks again, it seems that the turbo is not boosting or blown hose or cracked intercooler, I’ll check all that tomorrow

Hi Guys I have a BT 50 2014 and it is in limp mode now, the reason for it to go into limp mode was water in the fuel, the take and all fuel lines have been removed cleaned and new diesel put in. there are no codes given out by diagnostics but I connected the diagnostics and cleared all again just in case. the BT still only revs up to 2000 rpm only? any takers?

I am having similar issues with a 2016. Sporadic limping as I drive. Limped into the Mazda dealer and they hooked up their computer - said it was a pressure issue and not enough fuel was getting to the motor. I had wondered about fuel contamination but it did not make sense as it comes on sporadically when I was cruising rather than applying power. After reading your story I'm having second thoughts now as I want to limp back home about 150km away..... How did you get water in the fuel? Did you see it in the filter?
Yes sir, I noticed it in the fuel filter. The diesel was a milky color and that was how I know the there was water in the tank, removed the tank and opened it up, emptied it and cleaned it out. I used a few dry rages to get all the water droplets out. still went into limp mode after replaced with new diesel . I have done extensive reading and see no one knows exactly what causes it to do this. But I have solved the problem yesterday, I saw a clip on Youtube about the fuel temperature sensor and it, in room temperature, ( 40 degrees) should have a 2.5 to 2.8 ohm reading on a testing meter. mine was 0.213 ohms which means the computer was registering a temperature of about 144 degrees. it sits on the diesel pump and regulates the amount of fuel required as the warmer the fuel the the less dense it is and the computer will adjust the amount needed. like I said did a lot of reading. working fine now guys, hope this help anyone else. I have also made a note that every five thousand Kilometers, I will replace the fuel filter as I see we can not trust the filling stations any more to maintain their tanks.
sorry the water is always present in diesel, but that is why we have drain plugs on the filter housing. the filling stations are the ones that give water contamination as they dont maintain the tanks underground, water separates are normally on the pumps like you used o see in the old days, people just dont care anymore
