Melecia was very helpful. Clearly had an excellent grasp of our situation and dealt with it in a very friendly and relaxed manner but at the same time explaining all the finer points of what is a very complex matter. After comparing several funds it became clear that, on balance, we were better off sticking with our present fund. Private Health insurance is rapidly becoming difficult to justify but at our age - 81, we would be unwise to give it up. It has served us well, particularly recently, when we have been able to get prompt treatment for all sorts of ailments. As they were not life threatening but still painful, we would probably have had to wait a long time for treatment under the Public system.

When my current fund sent me my renewal, there was a slight price increase, but they didn't make it obvious that they dropped my level of cover to Bronze and removing some vital things I needed cover for.
The policy they offered to suit my needs was priced at just on $5, 000.00 per annum after the government rebate was applied.
I contacted Members Own who took the time to find the best policy to suit my needs and as a result, I saved $1,700.00 for health insurance cover that offered much higher cover at a much lower price.

We received excellent and honest advice from Melecia Jongkind.
She looked at the whole package we are currently on; asked some pertinent questions, and reviewed other insurers from the Members Own site. She explained why she felt that for us the coverage we already had was the best for what we needed. Other insurers would give the lower excess but the extras coverage was reduced so in the long term we were not getting value out of the reduced extras which is what we use more often. There was no pressure to change to another policy or insurer. Also she gave us some options and advice to think about for the future.

I have recently been frustrated by my private health fund’s increasing premiums. After a long time I felt like someone gave me great insurance advice.

I spoke to Melissa and who has great knowledge of health insurance. She listened to what I am after and went through a few options. All Members funds are not for profit so the choice already is good. From those she suggested mew a few and gave me tips on how to decrease my current policy costs. I walked away knowing so much about my own insurance and there was no pressure when I said I might leave it as it is for now. I feel comfortable to contact them when I have questions or want to switch funds the next time.
