Great Work Horse
This machine IS made in Germany (unlike my fridge which has had heaps of problems) and it is used every day. It has a good load capacity, is quiet and reliable. It never plays up and uses hardly any detergent. I am happy with it. My only criticism is that it is harder on my clothes than the top loaders I've had in the past, but I think this is a problem with all front loaders - it certainly uses less water!
Purchased in July 2021 at Harvey Norman Retail Stores - Appliances.

A timer is really not asking much
I am very disappointed that this machine does not have any form of delay start or end. The majority of wash cycles take very long and it would be ideal for this to run when I am at work.
This is also not life changing technology with all cheapies having this function.
Purchased in July 2021.

great reliable washing machine
I can't fault my Miele so far, having had it for about 4 years it has run trouble free so far. It's easy to use and plenty of programs to suit all washing scenarios.
Purchased in May 2021 at Meile.

Best quality machine we have ever owned
We are totally satisfied with the machine. After so many previous machines that seemed to have built in obsolescence, we decided to lash out and buy a top of the market machine. This machine has confirmed that if you want quality you may have to pay a little more. The machine is made in Europe, not china and the end product reflects the difference. After 3-1/2 years coping with all we could through at (in?) it we get the feeling it has many years left in it yet.

don't be suprised if your Miele breaks down
My Miele machine was very good in that I am more than happy with the wash quality. The problem lies in the electronics. The panel lights display went out so I rang the appliance service man who Miele have out sourced here in Geelong and from what I described over the phone the electronic panel is the problem. They don't
even make the part any more. Even if they stocked the part it would cost $500 to replace excluding labour and call out fees . For a machine only five years they must not expect the mahine to break down. Talk about been tested f...Read more

Terrible! $1499 paid and total failure of power at 4 and 1/2 years old!
Another expensive Miele washing machine going to the dump. I was led to believe that by spending more on Miele we would be getting great customer service and that Miele would stand by its advertising that products are tested to last 20 years. I have had cheaper machines from other brands and on average they have lasted 12 or so years, so I expected that this machine would live up to its advertising and last me close to 20 years so was worth spending more on. Instead it has completely failed after just 4 years and Miele say I have to pay to have...Read more
their authorised service person look at it at a cost of about $179 just for a call out fee, let alone the possible $800 it would cost to replace the power control unit. This is despite me telling them of the other reviews that say they have had exactly the same problem with this model, the power supply just ceasing. There is obviously a fault with this model and yet they will not take responsibility for it. No thank you, I have just purchased a new washing machine for $729. It is ridiculous to expect us to throw away up to $1000 for repairs to a washing machine that cost $1499 just 4 and 1/2 years ago when I could spend much less money on a purchasing a new washing machine! (Definitely not Miele ever again!) My order confirmation says "The Miele motto of 'forever better' is stringently applied to everything Miele approaches; not only to the Miele product itself, but also to the standard of customer service you receive and the personal conviction of Miele employees. We trust that you will be well satisfied with your purchase." Don't believe them! The customer service you expect is not given as promised, and they do not stand by their products as they lead you to believe when you purchase. I am disgusted in Miele's behaviour and basically non existent customer service once it is out of the 2 year warranty. They have lost me as a customer.Similar opinion? Incredibly Disappointed
Purchased our Miele exactly 3 years ago and have already had to put it on the scrap heap. In September 2016 (less than 2 years old), the machine broke down and required a new power control unit. Luckily the machine was still under warranty so the $700 parts and maintenance were covered. Still, the alarm bells were ringing when an expensive machine requires a major repair with its first 2 years.
Last month, the machine showed an F53 fault and was repaired (outside of warranty) for around $300. This week, the F53 fault showed again and we we...Read more

Needs new motor after 4 years
My Miele W1913 had error F53 and needs new motor after just 4 years. Apparently it happens with this model. Don't buy. Serviceman says not made to last anymore. Service cost from Miele Aust ridiculously expensive considering it's their motor that had stopped working in such a short time. You would think they would want to fix it not just make more profit from their faulty product.

GREAT machine - sturdy, I gave 4 stars initially ... down to 2 stars in this July 2018 update after
Expensive BUT GREAT solid machine. It does not wobble and "walked" across the floor. Wash clothes really clean. Great selection of temperature from 40 to 90 degree. I usually use 60 degree for bed linen - to kill the bed bugs etc. otherwise just 50 degree for everyday washing. I accidental turned off the press button on/off switch and thought the machine had died, that was 3 months out of warranty. Ph Miele, they were HELPFUL and WILLING to honor the warranty. Extremely happy with it.
This is an update on 5th July 2018 - machine developed prob...Read more

Great for families
My Miele front loading washing machine is the best washing machine I have ever had. I have had a top loader for years but decided to go for a front loader the best decision I have ever made. My machine cleans the clothes a lot better than a top loader. It doesn't leave fluff on my clothes, it also removes pet hair which is fantastic if you have pets. This machine is very quiet and I have to check and see if it's on. It is well worth the money.

Great product with great Service
We bought the Miele when our last washing machine died. Ours is silent to run and a great job washing. We were so impressed with the Miele product & service along with free delivery, that we bought a dryer and stacking kit now we are set in the laundry for 20 years.

Love it.
Love this machine.
It's options for fast washing, suit me, it's easy to use and cleans beautifully,( long washes are ok if I have time.)
It is quiet.
Spins towels well, an important feature for soft towels.
A little confusing when it locks unexpectedly, leaving me to wonder if I need to ring an electrician! But it usually resolves itself.

Machine did not last as advertised and service needs improvement!
Our Miele washing machine broke down after 3 years 5 months. The washer can drain only but not turn, beeped and displayed Technical Fault F53 - possible Motor Carbon Brushes worn out. We thought Miele washers should last longer. Rang Customer Service four times, every consultant (except one lady) does not know what is F53 fault and told us that we need to pay $175 for a service call to determine the fault. After two days of research for possible course of actions, we decided to make a service appointment on 15 April 2017, but the earliest a...Read more
ppointment available was 3 May 2017. That's 18 days wait - too long! We will need to buy a Bosch washing machine for the time being. On reflections, I also remember when we first bought the washing machine and dryer package, Miele delivery guys left in a hurry and did not set up nor level both of the machines even though we have paid $50 for the service.Similar opinion? Love Miele. Cannot fault product or service.
I love Miele products. Cleans well, treats clothes gently, is quiet mostly and the service is perfect. I had a dumb question (I was new to front loaders) and a service guy came out, explained, all no charge. If I could do it over, I would buy a Miele Dishwasher too.

Unusable and customer support not supportive
We bought this after hearing how wonderful the brand is. It had excessive vibrating (shaking the house at 400rpms) so we contacted the Miele service line and were informed that no one was available for 3 weeks. They then informed me that I could use a service contractor they recommend. It took another week to get an appointment to have the machine checked out and one week later we have no resolution. Super disappointed with both the product and the customer service. No washing machine and no resolution a month after purchasing a faulty machine leaves me doubting the quality of the product and the support, or lack thereof they are able to offer their customers.

Great Machine
I bought this a few years back and it's a great one. No issues from my experience. Nothing but the best quality. Super quiet and cleans brilliantly. I was pleasantly surprised after my first load with it. Sometimes I have to check if it's still on its that quiet. It definitely lived up to the hype.

Too noisy when spinning
The machine is 'banging' in the spin cycle although it is perfectly level. Their service technician said that this is a common problem and there was nothing he could do. Miele even indirectly admit this in their Operating Instructions: 'The machine must stand perfectly level on all four feet to ensure safe and proper operation.
Failure to level the machine can result in the machine "banging" in the spin cycle or "walking" across the floor
during operation.' Well, how perfectly is perfectly? Would expect better from this manufacturer, especially considering the premium price tags.

Lets see what happens here....
I purchased my machine just over 2 years ago so the warranty has just lapsed. The problem occurred mid cycle, the machine stopped and lights went out and power could not be restored after trouble shooting and many phone calls it appears that the front panel needs to be replaced. My husband spoke to a number of repairer's and Miel'es service team to find out it will be $800 fix. I find it completely unacceptable that a machine that claims to be top of the range quality ( The Rolls Royce of Washers ) can manufacture a machine that breaks down...Read more
completely just out of it's warranty and then ask you to pay to fix it which is the cost of a brand new machine! So Husband has now spoken to the service agents as Miel'e, we have to wait over a week for technician to come and we are hoping that Miele will act in a fair business manner and fix at no cost, and I will have my faith restored in this Brand. Watch this space....... GREAT NEWS, Miele came to the party on this one and they fixed free of charge. Great that I got machine back finally, but unfortunate that we did have a long wait to finally get a result.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

3.5 years and it ceases for "no reason".
We bought a Miele Washing machine (W1913 White 7kg Washer) at $1699 in August 2012 based on the claims that it was german engineering that could last for "20 yaers". On 2nd Februrary 2016 (3.5 years of use), the power control unit ceased and we contacted Miele. Miele advised that a service man will arrive the following day to "diagnose the problem" and it will cost $169 but this will include 30 minutes of labour. On 3rd February, a service man arrived with a part, clearly already knowing the issue. The power control unit simply has ceased and h...Read more
e advised that "these things happen for no reason and there is nothing you could really do about it". He also advised that yes, we should have expected 15 years with no issues for this particular machine but that he will still be charging us for the service fee of $200 (rather than $169). Apparently, an additional 15 minutes was used to run the cycle of the washing machine and he accosted this to us, as well as the time it took for him to use our toilet. Avoid the hassle. Recently my W1913 washing machine has started becoming noisy on spin cycles any ideas as to why before I book a service call
1 answer
So on every wash not just once? Define "Noisy" Usual noise but louder or a foreign noise you have not heard before? If same noise maybe you have accidentally set the spin to a higher speed. Clanking or tapping noise on just the last use sounds like a buckle hitting the drum as it revolves, coin or something else out of a pocket, but if on multiple washes then not that. If the above doesn't help and you think the noise sounds serious enough to have it checked best call in the service guy.
