Cycles too long
Had a Miele washing machine for 15 years. I thought it was the best appliance I had ever owned, and bought two more for my holiday rental units. The rubber outlet tube broke, so I opted to buy a new machine so that I could have a bigger size. Bad mistake. I wanted a machine without waiting too long, so opted to buy one off the floor at JB HI FI. It was delivered the next day. The top of the machine had drill holes in it. I complained, and Miele changed the top for a flawless one. The 20 minute cycle washes our clothes perfectly. Howeve...Read more
r if you use this option a few times, a message appears telling you to use a hot wash to make sure mould does not grow. After 15 years of using the other machine on the quick cycle, no mould grew, and I am sure with adequate use of detergent, mould won’t grow in this one. The message is so annoying as you have to press the OK symbol to get rid of it before you can start the cycle. Other messages appear from time to time, and you have to press the OK to get rid of the messages before the wash can begin, such as the kilo capacity of the machine. If you want to wash the clothes for longer than 20 minutes you have to use another cycle and adjust the temperature and spin. But the only cycle which is under two hours is the delicates, and this will not allow to spin adequately, therefore the clothes have to go through the spin cycle. So I am having to do two 20 minute washes if I want to do a wash in under one hour. The other bad thing with this machine is that it will not cancel the program if the spin cycle has started. If you make a mistake and have activated the spin cycle, you cannot stop the machine. Very scary. I hate this machine and am so disappointed. I used to tell everyone how great the last machine was and always recommend to them to buy one. I have a long history of buying Miele products for this house and holiday units. But now realise that the products are not what I am wanting.Purchased in August 2021 at JB Hi-Fi.

Best machine ever!
I wash whites and dirty rugby jerseys in this machine. I also throw in my sketchers shoes from time to time. It has many cycle choices so if I need a quick wash or to spin water out of a hand wash it does that too. It is nice and quiet. Like any machine it does not like hooks on bras so I use a washing bag for those and through it straight in.

Don’t buy miele
Washing machine is unreliable - breaking down too many times and it is expensive to repair. Miele has terrible after sales service with long wait times to report a fault, service technicians not turning up or not having the parts when they do. Don’t buy Miele products. Either get a reliable brand or go with a lower cost option and replace more often.

The machine finishes a cycle and endlessly beeps. It's like we bought a torture device for the apartment. Is there a way to turn off the beep or limit it to just one beep?

I have a new W1 washing machine which I have used no problem approx 10 times. I have gone to used it now and when I turned the dial to select the right setting, a 'Cannot be Changed' message comes up. I have tried turning on/off and looked through the manual but cannot find a solution. Any help? Many thanks!

Is your door locked? If so you can turn machine off a off at power point. At the bottom open the drain door a gently insert a screwdriver a gently pull up. The door will unlock. Page 57 of the manual. Pull open the door. Close the door a machine should continue with the program that you have already put in.

Despite running the twindos maintenance program for both cartridges the machine continues to ask for the maintenance program. We have a cartridge filled with water. The cartridge is almost full at the end of the maintenance program is this expected?
