WKB130 - Second Miele - even better than the first.

    published

Excellent results. Clothes seem to be cleaner but in better condition than what we experienced from our previous Miele which was bought new 12 years ago. The clothes are less 'abraised' than the old machine. The machine is quiet and easy to operate. We have no particular need for lots of features, but this machine will do everything that the average house hold requires.

20 years?? It doesn't seem so.

    published

After 12 years of relatively light use (1-2 person household), our W 310 has failed. It is probably repairable, but it would cost a minimum of $164 to even find out, and a week to get the Miele technician out. Still, while it worked, it was great. Miele is currently pushing the slogan "Tested for the equivalent of 20 years usage" pretty hard right now. It's hard to know what that means, because if they actually meant it, Miele would have a 20 year warranty, or reduced service fees for 20 years, or something. But they don't, they just have a two year warranty, no better than anyone else. We decided not to buy another Miele.

Hi Anna, thanks for your question. Miele W310 smelling is caused by a build-up of undiluted detergents, oil, & grease residues.
    a. Generally occurs with continual washing at temperatures of ‘Cold-40°C’.
    b. W/M requires a self-cleaning wash using Miele ‘Dishwasher & Washing Machine’ cleaner.
    c. Then after the self-cleaning, a ‘Cottons 60°C’ should be run to keep the W/M drum clean, and free from build-up. The ‘Cottons 60°C’ can be used to wash towels, sheets, or any clothing that can withstand the wash temp. If no clothing is washed in the cycle, then use ½ measure of the ‘Miele D/W & W/M’ cleaner. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to call us on 1300 464 353. Kind regards, Anna.

How can I reset a program that I selected in error? If I switch off and back on again it just carries on from where it stopped.

Hi Chris, to cancel or select a different program:
    1. Switch the washing machine off with the On/Off button
    2. Turn the programme selector to finish
The programme has now been cancelled. Then switch the machine back on, select a different programme and press the start button.
    Kind regards, Anna.

Hi Anna, I didn’t realise there was a “finish” position on the dial.
Yes at the top in very small writing.
    Thanks for your help.
