Miele Dishwasher dead after 6 years .. ? Spent $176 on first service call. (two more service calls - not charged for) still broken, have $738 quote to continue working on it (circulation pump replacement).. now 1 month without dishwasher.. Shouldn't Miele, be obligated to fix under consumer laws? They claim a working lifespan of 20 years.... I have be in contact with Miele Service, who have offered me 20% off a new machine (but I have to get it installed myself).. or a 30%-50% goodwill rebate.. on just the most recent repair which seems insulting on a dishwasher which cost between $1600-$2000 new.. when I bought it. I have tried to pressure them in regard to the obligations regarding ACL, but apparently that's company policy...

How can I rinse the clothes with vinegar or antibacterial during rinse hold? It won't allow me to open the lid. I need to soak them in a solution but how???

In Feb 2022 I purchased the WKH 132 WPS 9kg Twin Dos washing machine. Initially the clothes came out smelling worse than when they went in but it transpires that the technically advanced automatic machine has to be manually told to use the built in detergents. By manually selecting the 'Dos' button every wash the smell has resolved however the clothes are not particularly clean. Despite routinely separating colours, darks and whites every time my whites are grey and dull. The service technician has been twice and runs diagnostics checks, tweaking the settings, but the problem remains and my frustration grows. I would like to know if Miele could consider an alternative response or advise me of my options.

Hi Sandi, thanks for your questions and apologies for any issues you are having. Confirming you are selecting whites vs colours as the twin dos system does dispense a different ratio of ultraphase1 and ultraphase2 dependant on that selection and then different amounts dependant on the soiling level selected. Not sure what's happening with Miele Services. I had my dryer fixed, paid what was due while the service person was in attendance and then was sent an over due bill for a part I wasn't asked to pay for while the service person was in attendance. Don't know what's happening as a customer you don't have any idea what the final cost of a service will be if they send new invoices after the service call.

Hi, Our Miele dishwasher that we bought a year and half ago, with extended warranty of 5 years stopped working last week with an error message F11, contacted Miele last Friday and they advised a technician will pop over in a weeks time .. Finally we had the technician come in yesterday and told that they found a screw in the dishwasher n that caused the drain pump broken. We don’t wash screws so we have no idea where the screw came from and they advised that the screw doesn’t seem to theirs n he quoted $800 though we have an extended warranty of 5 years .. A new dishwasher cost is just $1099, I am not sure why would drain pump cost $800 and they are not covering the cost.. not sure if the technician put the screw in there so they don’t have to cover the cost.. He left and said will email the cost and haven’t heard since.. can someone contact us ASAP

This sounds like a department of fair trading issue? Our experience with Miele is that if needs fixing its almost cheaper to replace it. The EU are considering a white goods legislation where products must last a minimum of 5 years. This sounds to me that the industry is full of dud equipment designed to keep the consumption going?

Hi Anna, thanks for your reply, I am aware that you sell laundry products, but they are quite expensive especially with postage on top, the nearest stockist from me is a 2hr trip.
The manual states any detergent suitable for automatic front loading washing machines.
The only powders I can find are labelled front/top loaders, including OMO which someone suggested - are these ok to use?

I have a Miele washing machine for 3.5 years. It had the problem of stop washing once 2.5 years ago. But when took the power plug out for about half
Hour, then plug the power on it work back to normal. Last week it happened again, I tried that again, it didn’t work. So it looks the machine is dead. How much would cost for a service ? If it is over 500 dollars, I will throw it to the street. Buy another one.

What would you recommend please ?
Just installed a brand new Mielle dishwasher, into my renovated kitchen, the dishwasher is brand-new never used, only it's been stored at our rental property, not installed there !
Turned on the power at the wall not the machine, could hear it trying to drain? Had a plumber install the pipes and a sparky install the power, can't find original purchase docket?
What do I do?

Please ring Miele.They will help you.Customer service are really good.Check also the hose at the back as sometimes there might be a kink

No real option but to call miele. Depending on age they may rebate some of the remediation work. Did the plumber test it after installing it and find the problem?

Simple, the ACCC isn't doing their job policing their false and misleading statements with regards to durability of all their products.

I agree, we've had two products, a washing machine ... lasted 6 years before having to spend almost $800 to get it repaired, for which miele reimbursed 40%. Now the dishwasher has failed after 12 years, and is in effect a write off.
It's a disgrace that miele are allowed to advertise that their products are tested to last 20 years.

Im a single mum. My kids bought me a miele vacuum cleaner for my birthday a couple of yrs ago. It was on sale for approx $290 ...that may not sound like much to some people but to us it was a lot. Thing is it just stopped working after only a couple of yrs. I took it to find out if it could b repaired. The guy said he suspected the motor had blown. I am very dissapointed as here i am again with no vac. Wondering have others had the same sort of poor performance from a miele vac and if they have any brand suggestions for the future that are of good price and performance? Thanks :)

Have you tried talking with Miele about this problem? Their guarantees on domestic appliances are all for two years. A really good company will help out someone whose appliance is just out of warranty. As for good price and performance of a replacement, get yourself to your local free public library and look up their Choice magazine issues for November 2015 and May, June, July 2016.

Thanks Ann. Its outside the warranty period! But certainly disappointed in the performance as just over two yrs is not an old vacuum in my opinion. I will ask about on pyblic forums regarding best vac price/performance. Thank u for tak I ng the time t o znswer :)
