What fuel economy should we be getting out of our 2003 Exceed 3.5 petrol at the moment we are getting 4 Klms to the litre the mileage on the car is 176000 Klms ?

Mine gets 14-16 ltrs/100klm average, this rises to around 20ltrs/100klm when towing a large caravan.
Using high octane premium fuel really helps a lot (power & economy) with the worst economy experienced when using ethanol blended fuels.

Look for timing belt change date/proof and check for top gasket leaks around the rocker covers and in the plug tubes.Listen for diff whining noises and take it through all 4x4 modes watching for flashing diff lock lamps and llc mode lamps making sure they stop flashing after about 1 minute or less.
Check for wheel bearing play in the front hubs.Watch for erratic temp gauge readings-common issue with gauge not overheating usually.Great 4x4 mines 230k now and still lovin it.

Hi i have a 2004 np diesel and the hand break light stays on. when the engine starts it goes out for a couple of seconds and then comes back on again i have tried disconnecting the switch at the base of the hand break but that didn't make any difference.would it help if i located a owners or repair manual from somewhere as i don't have one. i would also like to know how to change the mast and rope on the electric arial.

Hi Gary..if you cant find a problem with the hand break, maybe there isnt one, could be a censor detecting some dirt or mud or something sourrounding hand break. Something like that happened to me, I got severely bogged, it took a couple of months for the stability globe to go off when I had it in HLLc, there wasnt an issue with it, just a censor light would come on when I went into low range and only low range. Everything was working fine though. Maybe give it a really good wash under your truck and see how it goes. Mine is fine now having done that. Regarding your arial, I'd just take it into your machanic and have them do it.

I bought a second hand exceed with gas and get the same results, if you find out how to increase this I would appreciate any info . Regards JR

It should have an average of at least 280kms to 300kms. Have it check so you can use the most of it.
