Not what you think
We have three of the 2017 Triton utes at work and i was very excited to be able to drive them all over the state. They are ok but no where near the Ranger. Very small entry space, always bang my head getting in. Sore after driving anywhere over 5hrs. The older tritons were more comfortable than these. Not much value for money

Great car horrendous service
Great car pity bout Lander Mitsubishi and Mitsubishi Australia. I had a hard lid tonnou installed by the dealer on my brand new car. 4 weeks later, it rubbed the paint back to bare metal on the rear side panel. It wasnt installed correctly. Has been back 4-5 times for re-alignment as it wont lock. 02/06/18 - I lodged a complaint and warranty claim with the dealer. Every month I rang and asked for an update. "Still with Mitsubishi HQ" was the response every time. Finally 24/06/18, I complain to Mitsubishi Australia, I get a response on the 26/06...Read more
/18 saying that they only received the warranty claim form the dealer yesterday 25/06/18 and it is denied as the part isnt faulty. I agree, it wasnt faulty but the installation was. So the dealer says it a HQ problem and HQ says it isnt their problem. So Im stuck with a damaged brand new car through no fault of my own. So no more loyal servicing for me at this dealer. I will take my business elsewhere and Ill be paying half the service cost. Horrible customer service for an issue caused by the dealer through no fault on my part. DO NOT BUY A MITSUBISHI AS THEY DONT CARE ABOUT DAMAGE THEY CAUSE TO YOUR BRAND NEW CAR.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Value for money but
Drives great smooth quiet handles great I think its great value for money and that other brands are thieves for the prices they charge for this type of vehicle . The but is the computer I got a lemon computer in mine I know this because friends of mine have bought the same vehicle and don't have the problems that I have . HILL STALL ASSIST yes thats what its called you either wait 3 seconds for the brakes to release or you bring the revs up to 3000 and get of the clutch and traction control will do the rest . Other problem is if you drive seda...Read more
tely and I do most of the time no problems, but if you put your foot down from a standing start it will either roll forward and stall leaving you in the firing line for a collision, or it will creep forward slowly for about 5 car lengths and then it will give all its power in a rush when you no longer need it .I think these options are great if they work but as with most computers there are never reliable and we should be able to switch them off .Similar opinion? Does everything it should but lacks in comfort
Great ute for a basic 4x4.
Good ground clearence,4x4 is easy to engage, economical, tows well and runs smoothly.
The diesel is quiet, turbo ia slow and can be sluggish.
Its basic with whats on the market and good for a tradie or beginner in the 4x4 market.
Ir does ride rough, the seats arnt the most comfortable and it's bouncy on the road.
They do have major speedo issues ours runs on average 7km under what shows on the dash, many others have the same issue with the MQ model.

Best bang for your buck Ute on the market
This is my second triton, after 145,000kms of trouble free driving in my first I bought a second. Has got 57,000kms now. The tritons cop a lot of flack, what gets forgotten is they are 10 to 20k cheaper than a lot of alternatives on the market. I have a checkeplate canopy, tow a 2ton van or a tandem trailer or a 3ton boat. Plus a lot of late night regional road travel and the triton is amazing! It’s comfortable and powerful enough to handle my requirements, quiet and fuel efficient enough (I’m nearly always loaded) $$ wise I do not think there is better value for money comfortable and reliable dual cabs on the market. When this one is finished I’ll definitely be getting another!

Not a good car not good after purchas service
All the numbers in regards to power and fuel consumption is an absolute lies it’s uesing 11/13litr per 100 kilometre very cheap quality plastic interior slight touches resulting in deep scratches on the plastic all over interior, transmission not trustworthy at all engine stalls at hill start due to two seconds forced breaking system, took for first complementary services and got it back damaged/scratches totally disappointed bit extra towards Toyota or vw would do you better

The absolute devil
eight months ago we thought it would be a good idea to buy a BRAND NEW triton and here we are eight months in and the paint is absolutely destroyed. You pay an extra $500 odd dollars to have your choice in colour and for what? It to be pealing back and eroding! Mitsubishi Australia has claimed its "environmental" but the car is ALWAYS garaged and washed, the paint is painted inconsistently and is chipping off on different panels through out the car, are you meant to drive your car indoors and wash it every single minute of the day? No. An eight...Read more
month, $40,000 car should have better paint standards, now paying off this piece of crap painted car for it to look like it's been left on a beach for ten years is the situation because a multi million dollar company decides to pin their crap paint work on "environmental" instead of repainting it instead of admitting its not been sprayed as it should be. My advice, don't buy a triton, don't waste your money and mental health.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Value for money
The Triton has proven to be great value for Money so far. Whilst the ride is a bit harsher than other utes in the segment, that has been the only negative to date (15000kms so far). It has good performance, even when towing (have towed 3T with the ute 2800kms, with no issue). The features included in the gls are good, especially the android auto feature of the stereo system. A standout feature I like is the superselect 4x4 system, allowing us to run full time 4wd on the bitumen. This is great in the wet, cutting out the usual ute handling chara...Read more
cteristics you get with no load in the wet. The ute returns between 8-10 L/100 on a usual commuting cycle, which i find acceptable. Whilst early on in ownership, I think what the triton offers versus other siginificantly more expensive offerings in the category is a great, and wouldnt hesitate to get another triton.Similar opinion? Throttle lag
I got a glxr auto and it has a 3 second approx delay, (like it's connected with a weak rubber band) on pull away, which can lead to some heart stopping moments when joining traffic. I have complained to mitsi NZ and just got fobbed off, a freind has the same with his, if I could turn the clock back I would have bought some other ute

Average
Having owned 3 navaras a ranger and a great wall i have to say the trition is average at best. Fuel economy is really good, interior is nice and comfy but the performance is terrible - it handles like a water bed and dont go near potholes or speed bumps. The radio quality is crap and the fog lights being on permanently is annoying. Really bad shudder with gear change at low speed and overtaking isnt really an option. I paid $46k NZD for this ute 2018 glxr and i paid $48k for the st navara. I'd buy the navara a thousand times over before i bothered with another triton, i think i'll give this to the apprentice and go buy a bt50 hahaha

What a nightmare
Purchased Mitsubishi Triton 4x4 Twin Cab Turbo Diesel Manual from South Nowra December 2016. Reported shudder in first gear through 15kph at 1500km service. Told it was new parts settling in. Towed 13 ft van and found the shudder was magnified in traffic and hill starts. Then started jumping out of third gear, sporadically at first and then every day. Told they did not have parts to fix. Traded Triton back to dealer at 10 months old for loss of over $10,000 still shuddering and jumping out of 3rd gear. Contacted NSW Fair Trading and they contacted dealer with no positive response. Looking for other Triton owners who want to take to court.

I love this car!
I brought this car last year, the 2016 MQ, I find it to be amazing, I've had no issues. I think its good on diesel. Back seats could have a little more leg room, I do dislike that the head unit is a small screen and has no built in GPS. Performance is amazing. I love it.

What a disappointment
Have a less than two year old triton 22000 km clutch Burnt out replaced at my cost third gear kept popping out they replaced a part didn’t make a difference due to it being my only work car had no choice but to tolerate it for about a year then took to another dealer they installed a new gear box however it was the same gear box that had the same issues as the original one so I found out a mounth later now it’s there getting another gear box the one they should off installed originally as it apparently has fixed this issue but they tried to pu...Read more

Preferred the previous model
Within first couple of
Weeks noticed that bonnet was
Vibrating whilst highway driving. Checked under bonnet and the bonnet skin Adhesive had come away from the frame. I can see this as I have a glx (glx+), if you have insulation you won’t see it. I took it back and they fixed it no worries. Whilst waiting for service I went and had a look at a number of other glx and glx+, brand new
And the adhesive
Had come away already.
1st Drive on a sandy track, after about 5ks had errors flashing, long story short abs sensor ripped off (probably by a stick), lost 4wd, has to be replaced, new part $550+. Note abs sensor is placed low, don’t know what rangers/hilux set up is but surely they can place it above the axle - design flaw.

Worst ute ive ever bought
The ute is too higher geared (6 speed manual ) constantly stalling and no pick up power, very bad turbo lag, completely Gutless even with no weight in it. Engine is way to small and has the wrong gear box, fuel consumption is nothing special, vibration through driveline in first gear, told this is normal, mirrors that gives you wrong distances the interior is just basic, seat belts bang against sides of seats, the speakers vibrate and distort music, door locking themselves which is dam annoying, cant see the reverse camera when the sun is on the...Read more
dash, only 5000km on it and the rattle and squeaks are starting already. Hi beam is a joke as you cant see a thing the way the lights have been set up. Cant wait to get rid of it. Radio, USB and bluetooth for the phone would freeze up after awhile so i had to turn the ute OFF to reset it, i told this was a common problem, waited 5 weeks for a new unit only to find it did the same thing, Mitsubishi could not care less . 16000 km seats are rattling, told by dealer they would tell Mitsubishi, Time to cut my loses a get rid of this piece crap, old saying you get what you pay for and the dealers could not give a damm. Finally now got rid of it. Dont buy anything from Island Coast Mitsubishi Tully.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

cant fault our triton after 12 months
we cant fauit our my17 triton, after 12 months including a trip across Australia(17,000) kms over 16 weeks towing our 2.5 ton caravan without a hiccup, comfortable to drive long distances, our experience so far has been great.we would recommend to anyone, the sport shift makes towing up hill a breeze and the reversing camera makes hitching the van up a one man job.

Seat Issue + Deisel Particulate Filter Problem
Bought a new Triton Dual Cab manual - basically for the convenience of a dual cab ute (horse gear + stock feeds in the back), and to tow a horse float. It has now hit the 2 year old mark, and the drivers seat stitching along the edge near the door is coming apart, and the DPF warning light is flashing. I do plenty of highway driving, so the filter should be working OK. Not real happy that I have to wait 6 weeks to book the car in to get these issues sorted under warranty, as that's the wait time for next available service date at my local dealer (and where I bought the Triton from originally.

It's the little things
After being told by work go out a choose what you want, spec'd a hilux then 10 months later boss gets me a glx+ I was disappointed. But after 2 months and 5000km it's not such a disappointment. It's the little things that have got to me though. Firstly the small tank, previously had a ranger and would get 900km to a 72litre tank with an xl service body full of tools. Only get 660-700 from 60litres in the triton. But it's more the fact it has a Caltex card not BP which is closer. The mirrors don't have any objects may be closer the appear, just ...Read more
hard to get used to. The doors lock once you hit 15km/h then there is no unlock button which annoys me as I always have to drop people off with my job and haven't got used to flicking the actual lock in the handle. The rattle from the passenger seat or passenger seat belt between the seat and pillar. Still can't figure it out if anyone has any suggestions would be great. The steel for the bonnet and doors is quite thin and you can hear the steel flexing when doing 110km/h. Could be I always had dynamat for sound deadening in personal vehicles but will investigate one day. Lastly for the negatives the headlights are shocking. In low beam if it's foggy/raining you can't see 2metres in front of you, then flicking to high beam it seems great until the low beams turns off and you have dull lights pointing in the sky and you can barely see 1metre in front. Aside from those small complaints it's a great car so far. I've towed a 3 ton excavator/trailer and you could hardly feel it. The drivers position is quite easy to set for many different people and for 38k with waterproof seat covers, deep dish mats, canopy, drawers, side steps and tow bar. Saved the boss 30k over the sr hilux I speced up.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
