big problems
hi
I have a 2016 tritan as a work ute. things were going ok, then at 45000 klms the diesel injector blocked, court fire and melted. 3.5 weeks in workshop then told it was good to go. I drove out of workshop did 132 klms the dpf and engine warning light came on, I had to drive back to workshop at 40 kays as that was max speed, I waited 2 day before they told me it may be a dpf problem and they may be able to claim it under warranty, but they cannot even think about ordering parts until they sort out if its a warranty job. Not to mention this part is not in Australia and will take a month to get here.
The workshop tell me nothing I have to ring to ask them, and the best part is they don't know.

4wd.. Your joking...
4wd. Single cab... Purchase new dec 2015... The drum that holds your seat belts.. When retracted rattles very loud . was told by dealer.. Your on your own... When 4x4 stick broke the wire for the rear wheel sensor.. NO more 4wd..but rear wheels bind up if you drive it... I recommend you don't drive it until you you fix it..$400 plus to replace... 2.4 diesel big flat turbo lag..one more thing If your on your own. In the bush with a flat battery you can't clutch start it... Because you have to press in the clutch to start...WHAT WHERE YOU THINKING... 4WD IS A OF ROAD VEHICLE... MITSUBISHI...

No Real Issues At All...Can't Argue with the VALUE FOR MONEY!!!!!
Have had this car over 2 years and serviced it on time, every time and it (touch wood) hasn't missed a beat. I've got 85xxxkms on the clock and the worst problem i have had is the steering wheel leather peel off, but that was apparently a known issue and they replaced it with a brand new version of it and its still perfect after 60xxxkms.
It drives like a car, i do mostly highway driving to and from work but also do a bit of town and city driving. i constantly average 750kms to a tank and ive gotten as much as 900kms before, the lowest i rec...Read more
orded was 550kms but i was towing a jayco swan caravan so i was still impressed. Towing was a breeze when you put it in triptronic cause i found it trying to much to drop up and down from 5 to 4 but if you see the hill coming and put it in to 4 a bit before the incline it feels so much smoother. I've fitted an EGR blanking resistor mod and a catch can and my mechanic says my oil is cleaner than most if not all the diesels he sees in and out of his shop, these mods have stopped the sooty build up in the engine so this would the main reason that the oil is pretty clean. I cant fault the car other than the paint job is a little thinner than i'd like but to pay only 40k and drive out with nudge bar, tonneau cover, Ute liner, tow bar and tow ball, electric brake controller and some roof racks....oh and some rubber mats i cant really complain. I plan to keep this for a long while so i can always try to sort out some paint restoration something later to spruce it up after a couple of years. Now as the car sits after 2 years its been lifted 2 inches, triple hoop bull bar, led spotties, led lightbars, bigger tyres and still haven't paid as much as my mates navara stx which has been in twice for a rear main oil seal replacement and one of his turbos blowingSimilar opinion? Great value for money.Paint and finish arr very good.
My only vehicle so reliability is first priority,as a fair amount of my driving is on country roads where there is no mobile reception.I travel around 430 kilometres one way to visit family and friends on a regular basis, about every 6 to 7 weeks..Very comfortable,100% reliable, has just been serviced 3 year 45,000 kilometres. For a 2.4 motor it has good overtaking power.I have only done a small amount of off road but seems very capable.

Not impressed
Not very happy with this ute.
Air bag light keeps coming on, have taken it in 4 times in one year. Mitsubishi simply don't k ow what it is. So I'm literally driving a time bomb for all I know.
And apart from that the diesel is a total slug bug.

MQ Diesel Dual Cab-Pig!
Not happy at all with this vehicle. Seats fallen apart, Stereo system and bluetooth turn robotic. Roof racks interfere with radio reception as aerial cant fully extend. Has flat spot on acceleration. Doesn't like to tow which defeats the purpose as its a commercial work horse. Paint is absolutely crappy! Low quality for the new price paid! Capped price servicing from Mitsubishi only goes up to 45,000kms! Do not bother. Its an absolute PIG! Was told it was a GLXplus- no such badge!

2018 Triton Blackline Edition
What an amazing vehicle I have just purchased, Looks amazing and drives well on road.
Great turning circle for such a large vehicle and loads of clearance with great view from front cabin.
Next stop .... Aussie Bush, will have to do another review once I get this beast out and about in the wild.

Disappointed in Mitsubishi
Nice to drive, quiet in the cab and roomy. Uses more fuel than stated, approximately 9.6lt on the highway unloaded.
The negatives: back twice for rust in chassis, I was told it was fixed both times and then I have discovered more rust in the welds and also now in the tray and roof. It has terrible turbo lag. Traction control cannot be turned off in high range 4WD, useless on the beach unless you want to be doing 4000RPM at 40km/h. Major design flaw is the wheel speed sensor that wire snapped in half within the first month, "must have hit a stic...Read more

Poor quality
Bought a 2017 black sports edition triton last year brand new. What a mistake !!
Visually looked real nice when I bought it but it didn’t take long for me to notice how cheap everything is on the inside. Nothing feels durable and anything that looks flash scratches if you touch it !
The outside is just as bad. The panels are super thin and weak . Pretty much anything that rubs up against it scratches. Unlike other vechicles I’ve previously had, I have to be very gentle washing it incase I mark it some more !
DO NOT BUY THIS CRAP

assessment of the current GLS auto diesel for the past month
Its a great handling car with a couple of things that need improvement on. Drivers side arm rest on both sides need to be in more reach of the steering wheel when resting. need more leg room for the driver as console to close to left leg, High beam light not bright enough, and my biggest cry is the head rests need to be able to tilt back and forth, and I was so used to my navara st the back seats to to flip up, cant do it in this car, there bolted down

Good Car, easy to stall though
It's a great vehicle all round so far, it does slip a little more when towing in 4x4, but I think this is due to too much torque going to rear wheels as opposed to 50:50 bias of the MN.
The biggest faults are the time it takes to engage low 4x4 due to no lever, and the way it just stalls out of the blue at times. The hill assist braking system doesn't help!

2016 GLS Triton - Excellent fuel economy, Great value, Its a work Ute.
The Bad Firstly:
- 3rd Gear would sometimes jump out of Gear, thought it may have been me shifting but seemed pretty violent when it happened, odd for such low kms, it didn't worry me as the ute is under 10 year warranty for drive line.
- Left Hand Front premature wear, Mitsubishi blamed soft tires, Provided One free wheel alignment provided sheet to show it wasn't out. They swapped to my spare, I jumped up & down.. they replaced the Tyre
- Apple car play, head-unit would sometimes have a volume issue, had to disconnect the battery to fix ...Read more

Diesel particulate filter and car over reving
Very disappointed in my financed 2016 triton. 45,000km. The cars been towed in twice with DPF probs, after taking it for a run regularly. Just got it back and now it’s over reving again, in which I was told was causing the dpf issue Lander said it was a sensor problem aswell.. I’m on my 3rd sensor. Days off work. The stitching on steering wheel and driver seat is coming undone, bump the car and it scratches deeply.. definitely not a reliable work car, which was sold to me too be a work horse in Sydney. I also was told, that it could be my possible fault on the dpf first failure, as I do a lot of short trips .. why sell them? if there not built for running around.

Reasonable car for the money
This is my 3rd brand new triton & I have to say it’s an improvement over the last model.
I also had 3rd gear popping out under load once gearbox was at operating temperature.
Went back to the dealer who ended up replacing 3rd gear in the box which fixed the issue.
Overall happy with the 6 speed especially cruising on the open road.
I preferred having a gear stick for the transfer case like the last model however I’ve gotten used to the dial.
This model handles better, is quieter than the previous model.
If I had a choice I would like the...Read more

Best value for money motoring going
Great car, heaps of power and not a single problem so far. Great on fuel and very comfortable. After driving 2017 rangers and hilux's for work and seeing the problems they have i decided on the triton and have not looked back. Ford and Toyota quality is just not there and you're expected to pay a premium of over $20,000 in most cases. I am over 6ft tall and entry into the car is great, no hitting my lower back on the pillar like some utes. Interior quality is very well finished, no loose plastic bits rattling around like the work ranger.Triton all the way.

Fantastic Ute
I have been very impressed with how my Mitsubishi Triton drives. It has fantastic power and tows well.
Plenty of legroom in the back and the touch screen is easy to use.
I have had no issues with my Triton to date and would highly recommend this ute to anyone.

Blue tooth is crap
I brought a new 2018 model top end Triton going from a 2014 glxr which was a much better car that I loved and had pride in I feel the new tritons have gone backwards the bluetooth system is absolutely rubbish the volume is only in the left hand speaker and while talking on the phone with some people I need to pull over because the volume is just simply not loud enough. I have been back to the dealership they tell me that's just the way they are so I rang Mitsubishi Australia and they are the most incompetent people on earth they have no clue...Read more
what so ever and can not do anything to help. My ute only has 5000 Kim and I want to sell it. It's so frustrating that you can spend so much money and Mitsubishi can not even make sure what they advertise works well.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

False and misleading
Be warned Mitsubishi has a ‘Limited Life Warranty’ and lists a bunch of parts that Mitsubishi only warrants for 12 months or 20,000kms. Mitsubishi suggests that these components are “subject to normal wear and tear and that the use of your vehicle can influence the life of these components”. Fair call, but that summary could fairly be applied to every part that makes up a vehicle. There are some items listed you can’t argue with, as wear and tear and potentially owner abuse can kill some consumables – brake pads, clutches and wiper rubbers come...Read more
to mind for example – and no self respecting new vehicle owner would expect such items to be covered. But the following items being classified as having a ‘limited life’ and being dumped from the known five-year warranty and plonked into an unknown 12 month warranty, tucked away in the service book or on the Mitsubishi website. Glow plugs Fuel injectors Cooling and fuel lines or hoses Rubber or plastic components The main concerns are the glow plugs and fuel injectors. What owner wouldn’t reasonably expect to get five years or 100,000 kms from both of those items and accordingly have the vehicle’s full warranty cover them should they fail prematurely?Similar opinion? 2017 dual cab MQ triton value for money
excellent car to drive handles very well, tows well, comfortable, towed a 2.8 t half way around Australia no problems. good on fuel under 100 km hr.
few little issues, aircon packed it in day after buying it, no problems getting it fixed, had clutch slip while towing from day 1, often drops the bluetooth off while driving have to shutdown and start again to get it back.
if i was too buy again would go auto, the clutch is different to any other manual ive driven.
overall good value for money with so far only minor issues.

2018 Blackline mitsi
Had the new Triton Blackline 2 weeks, first week I towed my trade trailer 450kms into the hills for a job used only half a tank of juice, no trailer sway and easily sat on 110 up hills . The drive back was at night and the lights are so bright one would have little use for high beams .had to pull over n read the book one morning as the car beeped and a symbol came up on dash read the book and it was telling me the road was frozen . Have then done a week in full bush then back home with and without trailer, great turning circle ⭕️ took it to...Read more
Melbourne today and reverse parked easily with limited space with camera . We also took it for a drive down the great ocean road and then through the otways the 4 of us were all comfortable and really enjoyed the drive and worth switching to 4x4 while driving you can feel the extra grip on very curvy or wet roads . I am still figuring the car out but Cruze is easy to use on the wheel controls as is apple car play through your ph illuminates on the touchpad and reads our texts etc .. pretty smart for a mid range Ute . Now Done 1000kms of all types of driving and can’t fault it on looks love the black n white, handling is nice and price, which at the end of the day was the thing that Mitsubishi can’t be beaten on . I haven’t got an extra 20 k so never looked at Hilux or ranger etc . Checked out Colorado but there low spec was priced the same as the Blackline deal I got .got a ripper deal at kings Mitsubishi Geelong and would highly recommend them to local buyers, stay local & get looked after ... happy daysSimilar opinion?
