Keeps doing everything I ask of it...
120,000km of trouble free ownership since Oct 16. My commute is 160+km/day in varying traffic with fuel usage still ~9L/100km. And that's with 2" taller tyres than factory. I've taken it to Fraser Island twice, Straddie Island, and recently to Cape York including the full Old Telegraph Track. With only a snorkel and taller All-Terrain tyres (no bullbar or winch), the ute embarassed a lot of heavily modified 4WD's by never getting stuck once or requiring recovery. Yes, NVH is a little harsher than competitors and it's built to a price, but I cou...Read more
ldn't justify the extra $20K for a marginal improvement. I'll be driving ~8,000km on a Broome road trip via the desert in 2020 and I have no concerns about its reliability, economy or capability. It has been excellent so far and still looks great in metallic blue.Purchased in October 2021 for A$44,000.00.

Worst fuel economy ever..
I bought my MQ after owning an old Pajero for many years. The label on the window read 7.3l/100km. Now I k is I will never get that but I'm using 100% more than that on the freeway. And the dealer wont help. Don't by one they are crap...

Great car but poor audio
Car audio keeps dropping in and out of Bluetooth seriously want to change systems but not sure of audio screen size and what can be compatible as I’m not feeling the system that is stock standard and have had numerous reports of this same issue

Cheap for a reason.
Bought 2016 dual cab manual brand new $35k (with extras) and with in 40000km:
-Drivers side outside door handle fell off. Literally fell off. Dealer said it had just been shaken loose!
-Rear suspension bushes wore out after 20000kms.
-Stereo only connects to my ipod sometimes and only after approx 3 minutes.
-Gutless as buggery. Overtaking anything is scary as hell.
-Rides like youre an epileptic in a washing machine.
-Traction control takes years to kick in.
Although i dont consider $35k as cheap,it is compared to the other manufactures.
Even so, dont buy these Thailand made, plastic, poorly designed things.

Good car but
Purchased a 2018 Triton Gls recently. Had a 2016 model that was written off in an accident.
Really liked my 2016 model so went straight back to this model. A good work horse car for my job for the price paid.
A couple of things I find annoying in this model is the reversing camera is poor compared to 2016 model. To change radio station like most car these days you use the arrow on steering wheel, not his model all touch screen.
Find it strange that a newer model car wouldn’t have this when older ones do. Basically have to take your eyes off...Read more
the road ever time you want to change station. Very annoying and unsafe. Tail gate also wouldn’t shut properly but easily fixed by adjusting brackets, which you should have to do on a 40k car. Fuel consumption also average so far coming up to 1500km and need to full car up for a 4th time which seems odd.Purchased in May 2021 for A$40,000.00.

2017 MQ VRX (Kiwi Exceed),4x4 Auto
In 2017 the cost was NZ$47K with factory accessories i.e. front nudge, sports and tow bars, bonnet guard, deep floor mud mats, tub liner and soft tonneau cover. It has the 10 year warranty and is serviced every 15,000kms as per the service book.
I commute daily and travel approx. 28km per day. I have fitted an iDrive throttle controller which seems to supress the very dangerous turbo lag on take off from intersections.
The HID headlamps are a let down being a poor design. They wobble about going over bumps, great low beam with good cut off ...Read more

Loving the Triton
I use this car for mainly commuting to work (140km round trip), hasn't missed a beat and is quiet comfortable. I've done 45,000km's so far. I recently did a road trip towing a camper van weighing 1.6t, overall combined weight was 4.06t. I started from Geelong around the East coast to Woolongong, through the Blue Mountains and home. I covered 3000km's drove around some windy and mountainous roads. The Triton performed well and exceeded my expectations.
It does have a few annoyances such as Bluetooth phone volume not loud enough, the passenger...Read more

Good ute
First time owning a DC ute so some of these issues may be common to all. Be prepared for a harsh ride unless it's loaded – I understand the Triton to be the most 'car like', I would hate to spend a lot of time in the others.
As for the Triton, HID Headlights are woeful and shake over bumps – you'll need additional lighting. Passenger seat shakes when unoccupied and you have to tuck the seatbelt flat or it rattles horribly.
Tall passengers in the rear may be very close to the roof.
There is not much information available from the dash and to cy...Read more

Great value but average product
Great value in theory, however felt underwhelming. Made sense on paper, however after driving it for 6 months it felt like a budget vehicle mechanically (undercarriage rattles and turbo lag) and the interior is poor- not much better than a Toyota in terms of quality. Ended up selling in 6 months for a different make.

Great car, value for money!!
Top 4x4
Test drove all the dualcabs out there,
The triton comes down best value for money. Along with the same quality as a Ranger, Hilux, Navara and Colorado less the extra $15-20,000.

Don't expect more than what you paid for
It's all the little things that will get to you...
- Windows tend to have vertical scratches after a few months.
- Why did Mitsubishi deem it necessary to have so many high pitched alarms? It beeps when i turn it on and off and the seat belt warning doesn't let up before you are diagnosed with PTSD.
- Doors automatically lock and still operate every time even after this feature is "deactivated".
- Steering wheel buttons are 'seek' and won't track through radio presets, very lazy design.
- Sound system fluffs with a hint of base at f...Read more

Great reliable vehicle. Well priced
Had an MN previously and travelled 165000 in 3 years (work ute). Upgraded to the mq 4 months ago this vehicle has now done 20000 ks. No problems with it or the previous model. Dual cab 4wd. Tows anything with ease. Would highly recommend the Triton, worth a look at if your after a 4wd dual cab.

GREAT CAR
There can be no denying the Triton’s sticker price jumps off the page and slaps you in the face. Our test vehicle was the premium grade Exceed purchased for 35K DEMO 700KMS out of the tank all the bells and whistles
Compare that with other top-shelf 4x4 dual cab utes like the Amarok Ultimate V6 ($68,490), HiLux Rugged X auto ($63,690), Ranger Wildtrak auto ($61,790), Colorado Z71 auto ($57,190) and Navara ST-X ($54,490). Obviously, many Aussies have done this and concluded that being able to buy a high quality Japanese ute with all the fruit for under $50K represents outstanding value for money.
