Won't be using again
The overall print quality has deteriorated over the years. I will not be ordering a photobook through Momento again. I ordered a cheaper book from a different company to compare quality and they were on par - except Momento was three times the price. I called customer service to ask about the change in quality and query a fault in my latest book and was met with a rude women who made no attempt to apologise or offer an explanation. I would not recommend this company.

Excellent quality and staff helpful
I have just completed a family book and got 5 copies printed to distribute to various members of my family. The software was very user-friendly the help from Momento was excellent. The print quality was also great and the photos looked exactly how they did on my screen - so I will be using them again for my future books.

Programme easy to use - but the printed result has deteriorated.
I have only given Momento 2 rating stars because, like others, it takes an enormous amount of effort, time and joy to create and design a photobook and, sadly, I have been very disappointed with the result of my last book. I agree with another review about the quality having deteriorated. I have made ten Momento Photobooks since 2010, but in my last book, the photos are dark, dull and certainly don't reflect the results I see on my computer and in my own printing at home. I am sure the paper quality is much, much poorer. The binding in my last ...Read more
book is coming away from the cover and I shudder when I show friends in case it all falls apart. Ringing the office gets no satisfactory results. On an average of $200 spent on each book, I really am having to think seriously about where to send my next book. I doubt it will be to Momento. As much as I love to use the programme which I find brilliant, it's the printing which is letting loyal customers down badly.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

So disappointing!
The Momento software is great, the books are nice - but if you want a quality photobook - this is not the company to use!! we were appalled by how grainy and dark the photos were - we took the photos with a professional camera! I did complain to them and sent them some of the photos that we used, as well as those photos printed on my bubble jet printer at home - which looked so much better than the actual book. Terrible disappointment, especially because I was happy to pay so much more for a momento photobook, rather than the many cheaper companies around.

Appalling print quality
So upset with the appalling print quality. Dull, dark and grainy! I complained but to no avail. It's how they print! Very unhappy as it took me forever to create my book. Will not be using again.

Disappointing print quality
The print quality of the photo book I ordered was poor. Nowhere near as good as my home inkjet printer and does no do justice to high resolution images taken on a quality SLR camera. I think the Momento software compresses all the pictures down to low resolution before uploading because my album full of 36MP pictures ended up in a small 42Mb file.
The software and service were all okay, just don't use this company if sharpness is important to you.

Poor quality printing / terrible experience with the program
"Did you make it yourself?" As in, "it looks like you printed it on your home bubble jet."
Quite disappointed after all the great reviews, friends recommended Momento, bloggers love it.
Sadly, the A4 calendar using their standard format just looks very amateur. Even the text and dates of the calendar are poor quality so you can't just blame the photographer!
It was delivered on time, upload was satisfactory, customer service friendly and helpful.
However, I had a terrible experience with the program crashing every 5 minutes. I considered...Read more
reinstalling it (my friend didn't have any issues with theirs) but I persevered. It's also very basic, you are totally restricted as to where you can put the images. All in all, disappointed, but will still give the calendars to relatives as Christmas presents... And then find a different company next time.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Totally personalisable.
I love the program because I can work offline. I don't have to spend time and megabytes uploading to an online program until I am ready to have it printed. I can customise to my hearts content. There are many templates if you are that way inclined. It can go up to 250 pages. Quality of reproduction and the actual book are excellent. There is a bit to learn but it is worth it.

Great service, great software, average print qualtiy
I made a 40 page landscape book recently and found the software very easy to use. I loved all the different layouts that you can choose from. Creating your own layout was super easy thanks to all the tools avaliable. I have also tried blurb and albumworks software and they are much harder to use than momento's software. I was also very happy with the service times and communication by momento, they answered my questions quickly and were very helpful with a problem I had. Very professional overall.
Now the only problem I have is the quality ...Read more
of the pictures in the photobook. I own an SLR and edit my photos in photoshop, so they look great on every computer I view them on. However the printed pictures in the photobook look quite dull and there is a fair amount of grain in them. I paid extra for the best quality paper too. I am disappointed that I paid so much and didnt get the result I expected. I have also made a photobook with snapfish which was much cheaper, and the pictures in the snapfish book look better - they arent grainy or dull like the ones in the momento book. Helpful service and communication, great software for easy formatting of pictures and layouts Poor picture quality - grainy and dull looking prints despite using the best quality paper.Similar opinion? Great quality
I made a book with Momento for a friends wedding and we couldn't have been more pleased. I chose them because my own wedding photographer used the Momento pro service. The quality of the one I made was just as good as the pro version. I did get stuck at one point and they helped me on the phone.
The people on the phone were very helpful

Is it possible to add a shadow on photos once placed into photobook. Maybe Im looking in wrong place but dont seem to find any information in regards to shadowing
4 answers
As far as I remember Momento does not have a "shadow" option for photos. Some of the frames (e.g. curling corners) will create a shadow. However you can use a dark or black background (drag to page and then select option to clear background - it will change to a square/rectangle which can then be edited) to create a shape a little larger than the size of the photo and then change its opacity and put the photo above that shape and then adjust the spacing to create the shadow offset you require. That will work.
Thank you Rod

When I attempt to download the cover backgrounds I get an error message saying that there ia problem with the internet or server connection: Http Code: 0x403. I am however connected to the internet and there does not appear to be other connection issues.

Hi Malvoleo
I'm sorry this isn't working for you.
Can you tell me a little more:
- is the issue with installing packages from the Updater panel on the right side of the software?
- and what is the name of the pack that you're trying to download?
Cheers
Geoff

Hi again
I have just restarted the Updater server. Please let me know if you still have this issue. I've just tested it and it appears ok.
Cheers
Geoff
Yes, it is downloading from the side panel in the software. Specifically I have been trying to download the cover background colours but I have checked and the other backgrounds, with the exception of the Texture backgrounds also will not download.
