Within first few months (less than a year) found water leaking from roof onto front passenger floor resulting in very soggy carpets. I had to take to Local Nissan Service Centre for fix on 3 separate occasions to have same problem fixed. Each time they claimed to have fixed it but only successful after 3rd attempt.
My Pathfinder had only done approx 9000 km when I had the 1 year service done. After picking up car from Local Nissan Service Centre, noticed a shuddering/rumbling sound when driving at approx 80kmph. This was an intermittent prob...Read more
lem but reported to Nissan regardless. Had a Nissan Technician sit with me and took car for a drive and the shuddering became audible at approx 110kmph. Nissan ordered parts from overseas and replaced the CVT which was a long (approx 3 wks) and expensive fix. Lucky that Nissan paid for it under warranty. After collecting my Pathfinder from Nissan Service Centre, I took it out on the motorway after approximately 3-4 weeks. Again we felt and heard the shuddering/rumbling sound at approx 110kmph. Remember that this problem was attended to by Nissan via a CVT replacement. So reported to Nissan Australia CSC and Local Nissan Service Centre. I was referred to another Nissan Service Centre closer to my work who checked the software on my Pathfinder that apparently records such relevant data wrt faults and problems. This software did not show any problems!! On suggestion by Nissan Service Centre guy, I agreed to one of the Nissan Service technicians taking my Pathfinder overnight for a long drive on the motorway to see if he could replicate the problem. Next day got a call from the Nissan Service Centre guy to be told that Pathfinder never missed a beat and it drove smoothly at 80 to 120kmph. Also they analysed onboard software which told them that there's nothing wrong!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Don't do it, better more reliable options out there.
Car looks OK, is functional inside, often it drives OK, but why are Nissan the only ones who don't know they have CVT problems. Over a dozen times back for CVT problems (reported within 1st week) and they won't even let the dealer take the cover off and look inside the CVT to see if there is an issue. Search for reviews before you buy, don't just take this as gospel, this was an expensive mistake and others should learn from it. VW did a recall for similar faults of loss of power, car acceleration can be unpredictable and dangerous.

san took ownership of their warranty and fixed CVT problems I would give car a better rating as it seats 7 adults etc, but ultimately it is a car and needs to get you safely from A to B and I have lost faith in it. Such a shame to get close to a great car and spoil it with problematic CVT that they cannot fix.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Great car, use it for towing heavy loads.. no issues!
This car has really impressed me, with its huge volume of space inside, great seating features, 3 zone climate control, 360 birds eye view helps me see all around the vehicle especially for kids and moving in tight car parks. Have towed over a dozen loads of 2 tons of soil plus double axle trailer with no problems. The CVT actually increases the speed of the vehicle whilst the revs decrease even when climbing hills.... absolutely stunning! Even with all the hard work, we still get 400kms to a tank when towing! I also have an R51 diesel ...Read more
turbo manual, which can tow these loads but its not an automatic. Sure, the sat nav is out of date but its only really used 5% of the time. I bought the ST-L for the 360 camera, 2x glass roofs, and it is capable of towing large loads. The hill hold is great too, and helps with towing heavy loads. The car tyres doesn't last over 30'000 kms but when you consider the size and weight (2,100kgs) but handles well in the wet which I think is more critical than tyre wear. The central locking can be set to either open all doors at once, or for security, the front door which is closest to the key, then all other doors. I also understand that the new Nissan Navara LED Daytime running lights, can be retro-fitted into the R52 fog light housing. This is one feature I would like Nissan to offer as a spare part kit. I asked Toyota about the Kluger's towing, and they said "buy the Nissan"! Looking for a comfortable 7 seater SUV with tri-zone air conditioning (driver, passenger, and 2nd+3rd row seats)? Pathfinder all the way. July 5th 2017 Update: 3 Years and 48,000 kms.... all good ! Well 3 years on.... all good! Loads of space for all the gang ! Use the 4x camera top view to park in tight car park spaces to make sure I'm centred. The CVT drives smooth, and plenty of power when towing heavy loads of soil and landscaping materials. Not many 7 seater SUVs this luxurious with a 2,700kg towing limit. Love the heated seats and Triple zone air-conditioning with vents to all 7 seats. Not like CX9 !Similar opinion? Will not tow 2200kg caravan
June 2015 told it would tow 2700kg ok good until you put weight on the tow ball max on ball 200kg will sit the car down 60mm at back wheels . Nissan in fine print do not recommend using weight distribution system as it will crack the body and they will not cover cost, have fitted air bags to fix problem. Will not tow my 2200kg caravan up my driveway told if the gearbox over heats and blows up they will not cover any cost to fix . Not happy Nissan this car is not fit for purpose. Other problems with elections if you are too quick getting in and trying to start it will tell you incorrect key . :-((

Carn`t Tow
I bought to car for its seven seats and as a 2.7 ton towing capacity, seven seat are great had had no trouble with the trans yet, I had car new for a bit over a year,.
I have a caravan rated tow ball weight of 1.4 ton... so you think easy right... well no the suspension in the back could not handle the weight so I had to add air bags at my cost Nissan would not even consider a compromise on this regardless of me saying I mention this when I was buying the car I would be towing with it... so customer service at the head office in Dandenong was ...Read more

Hybrid Pathfinder - sting in the tail
Recently bought a new Pathfinder ST-L Hybrid. Runs like a dream and pretty good fuel consumption for a vehicle of its class. When we initially bought it, we were told servicing every 10,000 km. However Nissan have recently changed this to 7,000km for no apparent reason. Call me sceptical but it would just appear to be another way of fleecing the consumer, by making pay more for servicing.

Super spacious and comfortable.
We upgraded from a mod sized sedan, looking for a large family car with lots of space and comfort. And we got it with the pathfinder. The kids have so much room in the second row that our 4 year old can stand up to put here winter coat on. The book is huge with the 3rd row folded down and almost as big as our former sedan with the 3rd row in use.
We bought the ST-L model which has leather and heated seats, the latter a comfort I can't live without now.
Handling wise it's a dream on long open road a. Super comfortable and quiet,...Read more
but in the bends you can feel that it is a large, high family car. Jo issues or unexpected surprises there, just a fact for this class. Other gripes are that the interface on the sat nav is nowhere near as refined as Google. For example looking for a golf course requires punching in the exact address with no ability to search for a course in a specific area. And fuel economy, well, it's not economical, but what do you expect from a very big heavy car? Overall the wife and I absolutely love our new pathfinder!Similar opinion? 2014 nissan pathfinder hybrid 4WD ST+L
Ive had the car for a month purchased it brand new. fully aware that there could be possible transmission problems but so far it is fantastic. I'm in my early 20s no kids. But there is plenty of room to give drunken friends ride home every one seems to fit in! Sound system is amazing love it! Fuel performance im getting 700km! and that's all sorts of driving eg. city and freeway. The towing side of things is amazing!! The vehicle still has soo much power! and the brakes are fantastic just what you want for towing! Honestly couldn't feel I was towing!!
I definitely believe this car is the best in its class! for big suv its soo easy to park! no regrets on getting the hybrid!

So far so good - 2014 Nissan Pathfinder
We have the 2014 Pathfinder STL 4WD (7 seater), it's done close to 10,000km thus far and have not had any issues. Great sized vehicle for the family (we have 3 kids) and plenty of room in the boot. I've read about the issues, but thus far no problems. Will update if we have any dramas, but again, so far so good (touch wood).
Petrol consumption is actually better than our 2010 Murano we used to own and we do a lot of driving around town.
UPDATE 28/1/2016 - I thought I'd submit an update as to how the car is performing.
One thing we...Read more
've found out, this is certainly not a beach 4WD, Rough hard terrain, no dramas, soft sand, absolutely not. We got stuck on a beach in the middle of South Australia. With the Pathfinders safety features (traction/stability control, hill start assist etc) the wheels would just simply not turn at all in the softer sand. Once we came to a halt, that was it, it did not want to move. It just made these juddering movements forward and back digging us in. It took about 10 minutes of slightly moving forward and backwards (backwards you're not supposed to use in 4WD I later found out) to get the thing out. It was actually very sketchy, as the tide was coming in and the kids in the back were crying thinking we were going to drown - little did they know they could have walked up and down the beach 10 times and the water would still not be at the back wheel. Apart from the above bit of advice, the car is still running well. My wife mentioned she feels an occasional shudder when slowing up hills - I must admit I've never experienced this though. Still very happy with the purchase and would recommend. Just don't go thinking you can cruise along the beach, hard sand yes....softer stuff no!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
