So I am about to place an order for kitchen blinds which faces west. However now confused about sunscreen and translucent... what is the difference? What do people use in the kitchen? If I have chosen a ‘sunscreen’ colour does that colour come in the translucent blind as well?

Hi Pam,
Thanks for your question;
Sunscreen blinds allow you to see out during the day however will not give you full privacy at night if your lights were on. With your lights on you would see about as much in as night as you would see out in the day time.
Translucent blinds will allow light into the room however the blind will be opaque and providing a similar day and night privacy to frosting on a window. I often compare it to a lampshade, it provides a filter for the bright light. It may also be worth noting that the lighter the fabric with brighter the room will become.
In relation to the colours; both translucent and sunscreens come in a raft of colours, and generally, we can find very similar colours for each of the fabric types however they are very different fabrics, and the translucent can be quote plaint or very textured.

Has anyone installed the Translucent Blinds that let light in ? I understand that people cant see in. It is hard to test this with a small sample and do not have the time to get into the showroom. Are there any experiences relevant ? Thank you

Hi Peter,
A light coloured translucent should offer similar privacy to a frosted window however with a dark colour translucent only allows light through the holes in the fabric and will not give you perfect night time privacy.

Roll the serrated knob at end of blind toward you... The blind end should pop out. Thats how the tech showed me during our install.

Thanks for your question, unfortunately due to our new factory being down near Botany we find it very difficult to give our clients adequate support on the Central Coast and thus we only go up as far Brooklyn bridge.

I would ask them to come out to do a quote on your blinds - it's free and no pressure to buy - as it really depends on how big your windows are. From memory, my blinds cost me around $625.

Sorry Samar I went to read and I think you meant where I explained how to they could be cleaned if we ever marked them by marked I meant a dirty finger print or general dirt and to clean them is hot soapy water or a baby wipe. I hope this is what you meant
