Hi there, I've recently purchased Nutri ninja auto iQ and used carrats, beet, cucumber, almonds, strawberries, apple and pumpkin seeds and add little bit of water. Juice came bit thicker and you can still finds little pieces of nuts. is it because of we used little water or does it normally puree the nuts?

Yes, add a little more water and Ultra blend it again. You will notice also that some vegetables will still be fibrous to drink as that's the way it is but don't worry just drink it.

I use nuts on a regular basis (cashews, almonds etc), with out nut fragments throughout the drink. My suggestion would be to ensure you are not overfilling the cup as it needs to rotate freely around so as to crush all the ingredients. Secondly add a little extra water and if you are adding ice - add a little less, as the ice can make it more of the consistency of a thick shake. There is a where to fill guide on the cup. I found experimenting with different amounts of liquid, ice and solids gave me the consistency that I was looking for.
Cheers.

Hi! I have just bought the nutri ninja auto iq model and have not yet used it. I looked through the recipe book and was a bit confused, the recipes ask for things like carrot juice or orange juice, etc. I thought the idea was that you put all raw ingredients in or do you have to juice your carrots, etc, beforehand? Sorry but confused.

You should have (2) books. One has a few recipies in it. You will notice you will have a small card in the box for contacting Ninja on spares ect "BUT" i recon if you googled up there site i recon you will find some were were you can get more recipies on what you want to chop up. I put in vegetables i like add some water, salt may be a drop of olive oil then mulch it all up at ultra blend setting. If its too thick add some more water to thin it down so its easier to consume. You dont need to put in to many vegetables as you do with a pot cook up as it also aerates the mixture which make you feel full when you drink it.

Give it ago and experiment with it and remember there is no set recipies for that machine as you can do what you feel like in blending. You will notice the motor is loud in opperation.

Hi. As yet I haven't used carrots (just because I'm not a fan), but the only liquid I have used is water, so my guess it is for extra flavour. Because of your question I decided to try the carrot in the machine (still tastes like carrot)! I cut up a small carrot added about 1/2 a cup of water and a quarter of an apple. It did blend it quite well into a puree, if I had added more liquid this may have been thinner. My guess is that by adding raw carrot your mix may be a little thicker, more like a thick shake than a smoothie. Experiement with ingredients until your are happy with consistency and flavour. I used too much yoghurt in one of mine the other day, not a very pleasant flavour at all. Too much ice will also make it more thickshake than smoothie. Again, I think the juice adding may be for flavour and consistency as I just use water.
Hope this helps.

Where is nutri ninja manufactured, the ones on TV sale?
What is the warranty period?
Can that be used for blending foods like soaked rice, lentils and coconut?
Does it come with a recipe book?

Hi again Vijaya. The bottom of the box says the counrty if origin is China. It came with 12 months warranty. One food that I have not tested is soaked rice and lentils- so I don't feel I could answer that one honestly. But I have used coconut and it worked just as well however, I did cut it into smallee pieces first, about 2-3 cm. The one I bought did not come with a recipe book, but there was enough information with it (pictures and a small leaflet type book), that allwoed for experimentation. Hope this assists with your decision making.

Does the fast action blending destroy the enzymes in the raw food? I have heard that a gentle grinding motion will help retain those enzymes

Hi Bren. As I'm not a scientist or a nutritionist, I'm not really qualifed to answer that question. However, logically all nutrients should remain in the food as iit is not super heated nor pulverised for extended periods of time. Hope this helps.

It has (3) settings. Pulse blend . It blends for as long as you hold your finger on the button. Normal mode it blends at a semi hi speed. Ultra blend it chops up at full bore power and cuts real real fine and has and automatic timer control to do its job. As far as enzimes are concerned ? I carnt answer that but i belive it should be ok.

These units don't really 'juice' the food that is put in there, more of an emulsifier which keeps all of the bits in. If you do lots of watery fruits and veggies (Watermelon, cucumber etc,) the drink will be thinner. Opposite goes for heavier densities like carrots and bananas. If you find that your results are too thick, add a bit of coconut water to help smooth things out.

I went to the Nutri Ninja after much research because of the number of settings e.g. blender, pulser, and just when lazy or unable to decide the Auto setting to allow me to experiment with the most suitable action for the result I wanted. Have never regretted decision. Use daily for juice and vegetables mixes

Does it also grind dry food such as coffee beans, mustard seeds, etc? Also does it blend fruits without water, with some blenders water must be added to blend.

I have only used it for smoothies and juices. I do add whole almonds, assorted seeds and dried fruit like goji berries and it blends great. I have blended fresh fruit without water and it is very thick. It really depends on the type of fruit. I find it better with frozen fruit and ice cubes and almond milk. To drink it, I advise my children to add half cup of liquid or yoghurt to smooth the consistency.

About to purchase one of these Nutri Ninja auto Ig models from the Good Guys. After reading the forums I am having second thoughts. My main type of drink would be something like carrot, celery, apple, beetroot, kale and lemon. How does the Ninja stand up to this type of smoothie each day? Also concerned about this 'leaking' and blade problems.

3 answers
Robbie
Robbie

I have not had any leaking or blade problems, except for the fact that smoothies are a little bit bitty, but still ok as far as I am concerned. My problem is that I have to return it as it trips out about 2 seconds after it starts, if you have a full container of soft fruit, carrots etc would be worse. It has only just started doing this after performing flawlessly for about 2 or 3 months.

Bec
Bec

As the reply from Robbie states it trips out. This is because the lugs corrode in no time, rendering the machine quite useless. I've had three, and consider them rubbish. The $24 dollar smoothie maker from Aldi is just as good, and not as loud. I haven't used vegetables in the Aldi one, though, so can't comment there. I'd like to know, does the manufacturer of the Nutri Ninja read these posts? Seriously, it's not worth the rather exorbitant price.

Hi, is there a significant noise level difference between the Nutri Ninja and the Nutri Ninja with Auto IQ ?

Lots of reviews warn the Auto IQ ninja (BL480) is very very loud. Cannot find similair comments on the cheaper one ( non-IQ nutri ninja, BL450).

Does anyone find them just too loud to use ?
Thanks :)

The Auto IQ recorded 83dBA on my phone app. 85dBA requires hearing protection. I dont find it too loud as I usually set it on Ultra Blend, walk away and come back when its finished. I don't own any other Nutri Ninja's so cant compare.

I currently use the nutri bullet with only a 600w motor. I make green smoothies daily using mainly frozen fruit and vege. The nutri bullet has trouble with frozen product and it's almost had it so I'm searching for a blender with a stronger motor. Can anyone tell me if the Nutri Ninja works well with a lot of frozen product? For instance one smoothie would have a banana, 1/4 avocado, lots of cauliflower & spinach all frozen with 1 cup of oat milk or water.

My Ninja is still too new for it to be leaking. I doubt you'll need new blades. There is an official website 'ninjakitchen.com' which may help. There's a FAQ page and the (5yr) warranty terms and conditions. Otherwise try a kitchen speciality store. Good luck.
