Won’t turn off

published

The thermometer won’t turn off, tried all the steps in the guide. It won’t turn off, not what I expected for the price. Very disappointing- seems to be a common compliant.

Disappointing!

published

This device won't turn off! I did press and hold the ON/MEM button until off appeared on the screen and it just won't turn off. Even when I leave it for more than 1 minute it's still on! This is not what I expected for a $79 thermometer. Very disappointed.

Purchased in March 2022 for $79.

It deserves ZERO stars

published

This item does not do what it says it will do.
These should be recalled by Omron and refunds given to all of us who have been conned by them into buying this piece of crap.
The guy who posted the 5 star review must have been paid by Omron.

Useless

published

I wish I had read some reviews before I purchased it! How long is a short time to hold the on button or the start button. It doesn’t do what they are saying it should?
Will be taking it back!

Perfectly fine digital thermometer

published

There seems to be a basic misunderstanding on how to operate this thermometer.
Here's the easy guide for basic operation:
1. Briefly press and release ON/MEM once to turn on the unit (Important: Do not hold this button on)
2. The unit will beep twice within 2 seconds. It is now ready to take a temperature.
3. Hold 1-3cms from forehead and press (and immediately release) START (Do not hold the button on).
4. The unit will beep once and display the temperature
5. After 6 seconds the unit will beep twice and is ready to take another temperature.
6. Turn off the unit by pressing AND HOLDING the ON/MEM button until "OFF" appears in the display. This may take up to 10 seconds. Turning the unit off correctly will ensure improved battery life.

Purchased in November 2021 at Chemist Warehouse Physical Store for $64.

Don’t recommend

published

Battery life is terrible. I need to put a new button battery in it every time I use it. It’s a pain to take batteries out every time because there a screw holding the cover down. Otherwise I guess it does what it says. Wouldn’t by it again if I had the chance.

Purchased in January 2022.

We didn't have a choice coz all chemists are close and no regular thermometer in coles nor woolies, so I thought maybe because this is expensive it might be worth an investment, but nah never worked, it says remove the battery etc if theres an error message did everything read the manual but it never worked! So I'm taking this piece of crap back tomorrow!

Battery Eater

published

This is a great thermometer, however it does chew through the battery, have now replaced this unit with its 3rd battery in just 3 weeks, does become an issue when you need to use it and battery is flat. Very disappointed and after being passed off by Omron have decided to purchase Braun instead.

Garbage.

published

From Day 1 this thing has been absolutely useless. Every single time we've had to use it, all emergencies, it has failed us 100%.

There is 2 buttons, On/Memory & Start, you should simply push On then Start BUT NOOO! You have to read the instructions each & every time and takes about 20 minutes to actually get an actual reading, each & every time, it is also very inaccurate. Don't allow Chemist Warehouse to charge you $64+ to take their garbage away!

Purchased in March 2020 for $64.

Unreliable, reads 'Lo'

I bought it for work as a nurse. Reads 'Lo' at least 80% of the time despite new battery or if it worked for last person by some miracle! No good.

Terrible product

published

Surprised because it’s an Omron. Worst product I’ve ever bought. Readings change between 38.9c to 36.7c if you try it 3 times on the same person. Totally unreliable and battery is wasted coz display is always on.

Wow, I got ripped off 100%

published

When my wife and I purchased this POC (piece of crap) our young son was sick so we didn’t think about the money it cost us, which was about $85.

Now we try to use it and it keeps showing Lo which means it’s not hot enough surface to read lol what a joke and waste of money.

When it does give a reading, we did another check and you guessed it, the reading was different.

*** DO NOT BUY *** this pathetic useless POC.

So angry we can’t get our money back.

Purchased in April 2022 for $85.

Poor usability, unreliable readings

published

The unit has poor usability, making it frustrating to use. The battery runs down too quickly and is not quick and easy to swap out. It's also not standard, so cannot use a re-chargeable battery. The readings are inconsistent. Overall, cannot trust the unit to work when needed or to give acceurate readings.

Purchased in August 2018 for $79.

Hi Raja,
According to your fault description changing battery that will fix the issue. At the moment your battery is running Low that's why it is working for 15min. Battery used in MC720 thermometer is CR2032 Button battery.
