Great juicer, even better support.

published

Purchased this juicer month ago after having a high speed juicer. This gets far more out of the fruit the pulp is drier but still great for burgers or cakes. Had small crack in one of the parts called Froothie and no questions asked very quickly replacement arrived by courier.

Highly Recommend Froothie

Love this product

Having never been a great fan of fruit juice, I've been totally converted by using the Optimum 600. My favourite morning juice over the past month has been beetroot, carrot, apple, orange and pineapple. The juicer handles this mixture without a glitch with the pulp coming out very dry and the juice is absolutely delicious and full of flavour. The juicer is quiet so there is no waking up anyone early in the morning. Recommend it highly.

I live in France and I was looking for an electric juicer. But there are so many that it was hard to choose. I read lots of comparisons and lots of people's advice. And finally I discovered THE optimum 600 with its large mouth. It only took 3 days to get it and it is beautiful and convenient. Today I have already drunk 3 pints of juice . It works very well and it looks powerful. Thank you Froothie!

I don't drink one pint and a half every day. I drink THREE PINTS a day.

Had a lot of juicers in the past but this one tops them all!

Juicing is something I love to do for my health so when I purchased the Optimum 600 I was most pleased at how simple and easy it is to use. I was really surprised at how much juice I got from it also. I really feel you get more bang for your buck with this blender and you wont regret adding this beauty into your life.

Absolutely worth it

My old juicer would create more juice than pulp and I would have to keep juicing the pulp to get every drop, but this wasn't the case with the 600 because I've had more juice than pulp. P.S. I juice kale, spinach leaves, papaya (including the stringy parts), and apples, a lot and this machine has wowed me, for sure.

New revolution in juicing fruits & veggie

published

Pros:
The large inlets is the big plus I choose for this juicer.
Cold press / slow juicer gives you more juice than the traditional type of juicer.
Not noisy as any other juicer during the operation.
Unit is sturdy and doesn't feels like a cheap plastic model.

Cons:
Price is expensive for a juicer but considering the health benefits it is justified
Few components needs to be cleaned after the juicing is done.

Exceptional Customer Service

I purchased this juicer and had some issues, putting it together and getting it to juice. Totally my problem!
I'm a bit challenged with these things, plus I have RA and my fingers and hands are a weak.
Anyway the Support Team were endlessly patient, answered all my queries promptly.
Sent me hints and photographs regarding how the machine should look when its put together.
How to juice most effectively and so on.
Even extended my 30 Day Trial so that I could persevere and work through finding a way to juice most effectively.
Highly recommend the Froothie Support Team and this Juicer.

Very happy with my decision to purchase this juicer!

I spent a lot of time looking at just about every juicer on the market. I watched you tube videos, read reviews, looked in stores. You name it, I did it! Finally settled on the Optimum 600 and have been glad I did from the moment I unpacked it. Easy to assemble and a breeze to use. You don't have to cut things up and it's relatively quiet which I really like. Easy to clean too.

Awesome multi purpose juicer!

One ginger shot, one cabbage shot every morning. Breakfast - time for a juice. The quality of the juice is great (and the worms love the pulp.) Mid morning, hmm I might make some nut butter - cashew and coconut butter, yum. Afternoon, maybe some almond milk, later another juice. That's a typical day in the life of my Optimum 600. I find it easy to use, clean and assemble, also pretty quiet. I ordered on thursday afternoon and it was available for collection at 10am the next morning - great service. Great machine, great service, great quality juice!

A great juicer!

I did a lot of research on juicers, I have not been disappointed in my choice. The optimum 600 is quiet, it has a large shoot for fruit and veg which saves chopping time. It took me a bit of time the first few uses to assembly correctly (it won't start if you have not lined up the dots correctly) but now it's easy. You get lost of juice and it is quick to clean. Very happy with it.

Have used this juicer since it came to Australia. We make 50-70 juices every week this did end up breaking one or two parts but all parts were replaced immediately. I'd have to say great juicer, and great service!

600 1st Generation

I purchased optimum 600 and it seems the pulp gets stuck in the tube causing my juice to have alot of pulp. Am i doing something wrong?

Katrina, I'm wondering whether you are using the right strainer? You need the fine one to screen out more of the pulp, and the coarser strainer is good for smoothies. If you have further questions, ask Froothie - they have good customer service. Good luck, it's a great juicer and provides far more juice than other ones I've had in the past.

Optimum Appliances
Athena Solutions Pty LtdOptimum Appliances

Hi Katrina, I can definitely help you out with that! I’d be glad to :-)
Here are a few points we've compiled that are important to achieving the best results:

1) Do not press/shove food into the juicer - Do not use a pushing/pressing/shoving force with the Optimum Juicer or any other slow juicer. There is no spinning blade and no dizzying shredding taking place. No pressing is required. Instead, simply let your food fall into the "chewing auger." Virtually no force is necessary, and forcing more food into the chute can cause too much vegetable mass to clog in the auger, resulting in pulp overflowing into your juice, or the juicer becoming blocked.
When juicing grasses, feed the Optimum Juicer a small amount of grass at a time, cutting the grass into short pieces approximately 3cm long. This ensures the waste can easily come out of the waste chute. You do not need to "clump" the grass into a ball. In fact, you can slowly feed small strands of grass, coriander, parsley, kale, spinach and other leafy greens without any force necessary.

A great tip for large leafy, stringy or fibrous vegetables is to remove the leaf from the stem, cut both leaves and stems into 3-5cm lengths and feed through gently, letting the auger pull the ingredients into the juicer, using the tamper only gently if required.
2) Juice low-fibre plants first, and high-fibre plants last - Here's a really important tip: If you're going to juice high-fibre plants like celery or spinach, juice them last! Why? Because the fibres in celery tends to accumulate in the ejection port at the bottom of the juicing auger. If this port becomes clogged, then "pulp overflow" will occur, sending extra pulp into your juice. Following Tip #1 though will minimise the chances of this occurring to almost zero.
As long as the ejection port stays open, the pulp in your juice will be minimised. The best way to do this is to juice low-fibre fruits and veggies first: Apples, carrots, etc. and saving the stringier, fibrous plants for last. This will lead to a much better result when your concern is the amount of pulp in the final juice.
NB: If you are planning on juicing large amounts and do not mind a very small amount of pulp in the juice another alternative (to ensure you do not block the juicer), is to alternate your leafy greens and stringy items, with the harder items like carrot and beetroot.
3) Insert red plug correctly - Make sure the red rubber plug/tongue/stopper on the underside of the juicing bowl, is correctly inserted into its slot. This part is removable to assist with cleaning but often not reinserted correctly. It acts as a pressure point to ensure pulp ejects from the waste chute.
4) Juice your juice - If you still find too much pulp in your juice, simply pour the juice back through the machine again and you will find that the second time through, nearly all the pulp is removed. You can also strain it through a nut-milk bag, if you wish, but that takes more time and effort.

Can pineapple be placed in the juicer without peeling it, also with pineapple do you have to take the middle core out of the pineapple first?

3 answers
KtB
KtB

Absolutely - I regularly juice a whole pineapple. The peel has most of the bromelain in it, so keep it on, but it's a good idea to just roughly grate the skin back a bit, so that there's no risk of blocking the juicer. Leave the central core in, except for the very end bit. You can either slice the pineapple thickly and then cut each slice into thirds, or cut the whole pineapple into strips lengthwise - either is fine.
Hope this helps!

Yes you can juice whole pineapples. I remove the leaves and also cut the spikey skin off purely to save unnecessary strain on the machine but the juicer is tough and can handle it.

Hello Kerry, better late than never :)
We could not have said it better than KtB and Tiff1971!

Here are some more juicing tips:

You can find tips on using a slow juicer and avoiding any blockage while reducing pulp here: froothie.com.au/Juicer-FAQ.php

Tip #1) Do not press/shove food into the juicer

Most of us have juiced with the old-style centrifugal juicing machines. If you recall, those machines require you to forcefully press/shove food into them, and allow large items like whole apples. You are required to push hard on carrots and apples to shove them into the spinning blade where they are shredded into tiny flying pieces.

Do not use this same pushing/pressing/shoving force with the Optimum Juicer or any other slow juicer.
