does the safety cut off require minutes before being able to be used again? I am looking for a excellent blender to replace my mediocre ladyship blender, LVT-866 which looks identical to this model!. Does the blade internals or any part of the juicer rust in time?

Hello Nik,

Thank you for your message. We can confirm that the Optimum 9400 blender has a reset button that is triggered when the thermal protector sensed that the machine is about to overheat. To get the machine to work again, simply turn the power switch off for a few minutes allowing the machine to cool down and re-set.

The blade assembly is made of stainless steel and therefore does not rust. However, always make sure that the bearings at the bottom of the jug are kept dry at all time.

We hope this helps but if you have any more questions, you can contact us directly at [email protected] :)

Hello, thank you for your message and interest in our products and a big thank you to Corina for your great feedback :)

Any of our Vortex blenders can easily chop any ingredients, blend frozen fruits and much much more. The Optimum 9400 is certainly a great option. We have also introduced a mini jug that can be bought separately. We have also recently launched the G2.1 and the G2.3. The former comes with a standard 10 year warranty and the latter with a lifetime warranty on the motor and an additional mini jug as standard - both of them will enable you to make your favourite recipes. You can of course contact our customer service team directly if you wish to have further information.

We hope this helps :)

I have the Optimum 9400 and use this every day. yesterday I went to use it as normal and the on/off switch was very slow to start up (like there were thick ingredients preventing the spinning) and then got speed up when I used the speed button - there was only liquid in the blender. Today nothing starts up and no life at all!? Any suggestions please

Hello,

We are sorry to hear that you are having an issue with your blender. Can you confirm that the overload protection fault switch which you will find on the motor base has not been triggered? This can happen to protect the motor against overload damage. If this is not the case, can you please open a support ticket using the following link http://www.froothieinternational.com/warranty.php and our technical team will contact you directly to assist you further.

Hi there

I just tried blending frozen banana (broken into chunks) and frozen berries in my Optimum 9400 (assisting with the tamper tool) and after a minute or two it suddenly cut-out.

I've been using my Optimum 9400 for over a year now and have never had a problem.

Has the motor over-heated? Will it reset on its own?

Please help!

Jo

Optimum Appliances
Athena Solutions Pty LtdOptimum Appliances

Hello Jo, thank you for your message. It is possible that the blender started overheating and consequently the overload protection switch that is located on the motor base was triggered - it is a safety mechanism to protect the motor against overload damage. By pressing the switch back in, the blender should start working again :)
However, please contact our support team directly at [email protected] if you need further assistance.
We hope this helps :)

I am torn between the G2.1 and the Optimum 9400.
First, it is the difference between touch panel Vs dial knob (9400)
Can you advise?

And one specific question: The video clips show how to increase speed. But since there is one speed button (no +/-), how to decrease with the same button?

1 answer
Optimum Appliances
Athena Solutions Pty LtdOptimum Appliances

All our blenders are high quality powerful Vortex blenders that will enable you to make any recipes you like. It is principally a matter of personal preference which blender you opt for. The Optimum 9400 has a manual dial that you turn to control the speed from 1 to 10 whereas the Optimum G2.1 has electronic buttons as well as pre-set functions. You can of course also use the manual mode on the G2.1 by pressing the speed button - the same button both increase or decrease the speed manually.
The Optimum 9400 has 2238 watts vs 2835 watts for the Optimum G2.1.

We hope this helps but please contact us at [email protected] if you have any further questions :)

Tossing up between 9400 and the new G2.3 From what I can find the 9400 has more watts does this make a major difference? Anyone tried both what is your opinion? Thanks

1 answer
Optimum Appliances
Mario N.Optimum Appliances

Thank you for your message.
Watts information can be a bit ambiguous and since the 9400 is fitted with a brushed motor whereas the G2.3 has a brushless motor, the data cannot be compared.
The G2.3 peak motor power is 1500W (which is about 2HP). Compared to a brushed motor wattage output we estimate the brushless maximum motor power to be equivalent to 1800W as brushed motor efficiency fluctuates between 45-75% depending on the load while brushless motor efficiency stays above 85-90% regardless of the load.
This feature is what makes the Optimum G2.3 model superior to not only our other Optimum models, but also our competitors, including Vitamix, Blendtec and Omniblend, all of which use brushed motors for their blenders. The Brushless motor also offers greater power and efficiency.
Another point to consider is that the G2.3 comes with a lifetime warranty on the motor.
However, whichever of our blenders you choose, it will be a top quality appliance that will last you for many years.
We hope this helps :)

Hello,
I'm wondering this blender can be used as juicer?
Thank you

1 answer
Optimum Appliances
Mario N.Optimum Appliances

Thank you for your enquiry :)
You can certainly use our Vortex blenders, including the Optimum 9400 to make fresh fruit juices. The Optimum blenders are able to easily blend whole fruits and vegetables, unpeeled and uncut, creating a healthy juice full of fibres. However it can take some time to get used to drinking juices made in blenders as they are full of fibres and thicker than standard juices but much healthier for the digestive system. If you find the juice too rich in pulp, you can also use a strainer to eliminate some of the pulp.
We hope this helps :)

Hi, I have just bought an Optimum 9400. The high speed pitch of the blender sounds lower than that of my old 1500W blender and also lower than a Vitamix. Even though the liquid is being thrown around vigorously, the lower pitch makes it sound like the Optimum is failing to reach the same high speeds as the other two.
Does the pitch of the blender noise actually reflect the speed? Or is it more complex than this?

1 answer
Optimum Appliances
Mario N.Optimum Appliances

Hello Eric,

The noise is not an indication of the power of the blender (some Chinese copycat blenders sound like an airplane with very limited power). For example the Vitamix Quiet One (most expensive Vitamix commercial blender) is also their quietest.

The Optimum 9400 is one of our quieter models, designed to reduce noise.

This blender is not great at nut butters. Buy vitamix or breville for smooth nut butters.

Optimum Appliances
Athena Solutions Pty LtdOptimum Appliances

Hello Carol, better late than never :)

The Optimum 9400 is perfect for making nut butters!

Here are a few tips and tricks on how to master nut butters and nut recipes:

Here are a few great How-To videos!

Kisane from Froothie TV!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZyWFyaLeo9k

Candy from our office in Melbourne :)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eio8gQWZS4Y

Sunny Side Up, our partner from Romania!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qeq_w5QsWXA

Here are a few points we've compiled that are important to achieving the best results

1. Roasted nuts release their oil content more readily than raw nuts, this makes the process of forming a butter quicker and simpler. The less time the nuts take to blend, the less heat is generated which is good for both the nuts and the blender! Note: the roasted nuts need to be completely cool before you attempt to blend them. This isn't to say you can't make nut butter from raw nuts but we suggest you get used to the process with roasted nuts first and then make the transition once you're comfortable!

2. High Speed - Make sure to use the highest speed on the blender when making any thick recipe, especially nut butter. Using high speed gets the job done faster, generating less heat and reducing strain on the motor.

3. Use the Tamper tool - The tamper tool needs to be used to constantly press the ingredients down from the sides of the jug, making sure it's being processed by the blades. Air pockets will naturally form if nothing is done to stop them so we recommend constantly tamping around the edge of the jug until the process is completed. Note: Make sure not to rest the tamper in the center of the jug (directly above the blades) while blending, this will effectively close the center of the vortex and block air from circulating.

4. Make sure the nuts are dry - If you soak or activate nuts for nut butter, please ensure that they're totally dry before attempting to blend. Using a dehydrator will achieve the fasted/best results though make sure the nuts are totally cooled before blending.

5. Quantity - As a rule of thumb, you should always at least cover the blades by 1-2cm. We recommend a maximum of 3 to 4 cups of nuts to make sure you're not overloading the blender. This figure can vary depending on the natural oil content of the nuts. The higher the oil content, the larger the quantity that can be blended at once. On the contrary, if you're using nuts with lower oil content, a lower quantity may be applicable.

6. Adding liquid - Avoid adding water into the mixture, it will likely make the mixture clumpy and prevent it from properly forming butter. If you're adding any flavorings or powders, please add them once the butter has already formed. If the mixture is too dry, you can add small amounts of oil, we prefer an oil with a neutral flavor. This shouldn't affect blending, just flavor.

If you find the process taking far too long or notice any smoking or steaming coming from any part of the blender please stop the process and contact customer service to make sure your blender is functioning correctly.

Here are some great recipes to use:
https://www.froothie.com.au/veggie-vegan-and-raw-blender-recipes

To get the best results, place food in the jug in the following order:
1. First liquids.
2. Then soft foods/vegetables.
3. Last add frozen produce and ice.

Hope that helps!

is there a minimum amount of ingredients that you have to put in the blender eg: if i'm just making something for one person like one orange with a spoonful of honey and a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar?
thankyou

1 answer
Optimum Appliances
Mario N.Optimum Appliances

Hi Lindajc,

You can absolutely make a drink for one person, as long as the contents cover the blades completely. It will however depend on the recipe, for example if you are blending anything thick and you do not put enough quantity in the jug then the tamper tool will not reach and we do recommend the use of the tamper for blending thick contents.

As a rough guide 250mls would be the minimum amount to fill the jug, depending on the recipe.
