Purchased this oven 4 months ago. Has never worked properly when using as a microwave. It is useless and is totally inconsistent on this function. The two main microwave functions I want to do are to cook rice and cook a bag of microwave popcorn and it can not do this. Sometimes it cooks fine and most other times not at all. I have taken it to be checked and the recommended repair shop for Panasonic say they have run all the tests and can find nothing wrong. Is my problem with the microwave part of the oven that this model has the exposed element at the top? Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Hi Loulabelle, I only ever cooked rice in a microwave rice cooker and had to stir continually during cooking, otherwise it never cooked as evenly as in a microwave that had a turntable.
