great product, use it all the time
Cooking results are great. Used it a lot to fry chips, crisp up chicken, frozen foods etc. Much quicker than the conventional oven. Machine is easy to use, cleaner is a little tricky with the wire tray, but using foil on the tray will make it easier to clean. The size takes up a some kitchen space but it's been a good add to our appliances overall.

Indispensable kitchen gadget!
The Philips Viva Collection Airfryer is an excellent to any kitchen. I think the best applications of this product are cooking chips, meat (steak, chops, etc.), and frozen food (chicken nuggets, fish fingers, frozen veggies, etc). In particular, cooking fries is highly convenient because it requires no additional oil and the chips come out crispy but not oily. Another advantage of using this product is that because the operation is largely hands-free, this product saves you time and allows you to prepare other ingredients while it is cooking. O...Read more
ne of the downsides to this product is that cleaning the cooking 'rack' and also tray can be cumbersome especially when cooking marinated meat. Also, the size can be considered small when cooking for more than 2 people (consider Philips XL model instead for families). Overall, a great invention for the kitchen!1 comment

Great product, easy to use.
Use the Airfryer quite a lot to do all sorts of frozen fish fingers, nuggets, french fries. It is also excellent to cook meat roasts, especially if you enjoy a medium rare piece. The only downside that I can possibly think of is the cleaning. It is not easy to clean at all, as the bottom is not flat.

Best purchase!
Great for on the go and everyday use! Super user friendly and easy to clean. Frozen foods work quite well with the air fryer, coming out tasty and crispy in quite a short amount of time. A healthier alternative to deep frying food yet with the same amount of crunch. Would highly recommend.

Wonderful! but could improve
I am satisfied with this product so much. I honestly use this on a daily basis! it cooks quick, easy none oily foods and actually removes it! it can be used to make lamb cutlets, steaks, chips and other delicious foods. The ability to stop cooking on its own is very useful as you no longer need to worry about leaving the fire or oven on. it actually could be a very decent replacement for a standard "Fan forced" oven! My only negative views would be its quality as it came crooked and the plastic dial was a bit cracked, but overall it was still usable and didn't affect my usage greatly.
The fryer is easy to clean as it can be taken apart though storage is more difficult to its size.

we used it everyday. from heating up a frozeb pie to roast crackling pork belly or fish skin. the dial is very simple to use. the reasonel of "rapid air technology" is simple a fan + heat coil, but it works conveniently.its a mini oven, good for small bake or roast. we got one other brand airfrier heats up much quicker using quaz glass. instant hot but not sure how long that last. this philips one is sitting on the bench everyday. small and using almost everyday.BTw the tv video of airfrier, they dont come out as good as shown, especially vege a...Read more

sts of the day before does not sound very tasteful. What might help to clean your AirFryer properly, is to let it soak for a while. First, unplug it from the wall socket. Fill the pan with hot water with some washing-up liquid. Put the basket in the pan and let the pan and the basket soak for approximately 10 minutes. We hope this helps. :-) Kind regards, The Philips Australia TeamSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great Product for people who’s tring to lose weight
Absolutely good cooking tool choice, without any cooking oil, healthy, safer, no smoke and easy to use, the only thing need to control is time and temperature. For me, I think cleanning it is the problem users have to face. But I’m willing to spend a little bit more time to get a healthy life.

Easy cooking difficult washing
Very satisfied after cooking but once it gets to cleaning it is a hard time. If you use dishwasher it is fine but if not it is a big headache. The net could never be cleaned by hand washing, I spent half a hour first time trying to wash it but still not did the job.
However, it is very handy to cook something, just like a small fan forced oven.

I love air fryers
This product is easy to use and cooks quick. I have used my air fryer to make from kale chips to homemade pizzas to just warming my food up so Iran crispy. It does get dirty after a while and need a good soak before you can scrub it clean.

Unexpectedly good
I actually got this air fryer as a present last year and it's one of the best presents I've received. It fries up food so quickly - instant french fries as a snack after school! It could be made a bit more durable though - the removable tray is starting to not fit perfectly well into the rest of the machine

Changed cooking for us
The airfryer has literally changed the nightly cooking for us. We cook everything in there, it saves so much effort and electricity instead of putting the oven on. The items are oil free and crisp up with real ease really. Chips have changed from soggy oven fried to air fryer which are much better

Great addition to any kitchen!
This airfryer works perfectly. It is great for cooking, reheating and even baking. However, the size is not huge so for large families this may pose a problem. Because it is closed off with no "window" to look through at the food cooking, it can also be hard to tell if its cooking properly or not.

Airfryer - Easy & Healthy Cooking
Love this airfryer. Less or no oil is needed when cooking in the airfryer. I just spray a little bit of oil on steak and cook 3-4 mins each side. The boys just love it. No oil splashing outside the airfryer, that means easy cleaning. Fantastic product. I highly recommend it.

I have had this air fryer for a few months. I use it a couple of times a week, and keep it on the bench. It's definitely a healthier option. Frozen Chips are great, meat balls and chicken are a little dry. My partner is not a fan but I don't mind it at all. Easy to use and dishwasher safe.

Good but not as tasty as I expect it would be
Nothing beats a proper fried chicken with lots of oil. This machine provides an healthier alternative to that and I would say it's does it job well. However, it is not as tasty and crispy as i thought it would be.
The Pros of such machine are...
- Spped
- Cleanliness
- Healthier choice
- Better control of time so things don't get burnt
- Multi functional
- Save on the cost of oil

If you're breading the chicken yourself, it might help to freeze it beforehand. It doesn't have to be frozen solid, but making sure the chicken is very cold would help. Hope you'll give it a shot!... Read more

Yes it's easy to use and clean. It's a great product for organising healthy food options and cooking quick meals. Also use it at least once or twice a week. Lots of recipe available on internet. Cooking results depending on temperature against timing. It's all about trial and error. Hands up!

After using a friends XL model I wanted one. On visiting my in laws they had upgraded to the XL and gave us their old one, 9220/50 model.
I have noticed it can't cook chips the same as the XL.
I have been cooking them at 200 for 16mins, giving them a shake in between however every time they just all stick together.
Does the machine just stop working as effectively after a while? Has anyone else noticed this?
I still want the XL and so far the husband is not convinced the machine is a winner.
Can someone please shed some light on why my chips won't cook properly?
3 answers
I'd just cook them a little longer. Could be the water content in the potatoes, or who knows what else? I do mine about twenty minutes. Open the drawer and shake a couple of times more as well. That let's out some of the moisture content that's built up within the drawer and basket that prevents things from browning as well.
That's really strange - I've never had anything stick together in my airfryer except homemade unsoaked potato crisps when I've just dumped all the slices in and haven't shake the basket enough times. Are these homemade chips or frozen chips? If they are homemade chips, 200 deg C is too high. The Philips Airfryer cookbook recommends soaking the cut chips in water for 30 minutes, then draining, drying, coating in a little oil, and cooking at 180 deg C.
If it's frozen chips, then 200 deg C sounds okay. Are you cooking them from frozen and giving the basket a shake a couple of times during cooking?
I just cut up and dry the Potatoes & Pumpkin with a towel, place them in a wide shallow dish and add a little Olive Oil not much, as it seems to cover over the potatoes easily using my hands, I use Roast Vegetable Sprinkle, then put them is the Air fryer then cook for about 15 minutes, or more turning them over at half time using 2 desert spoons ..I just clean out the base later with a paper towel. & brush clean the strainer. Left overs wrapped in Puff pastry is so quick to cook . A Tomato cut in half, heated in the microwave for less than a minute goes well with the chips .

Hi, I posted this question last week but have not yet got a final reply. Could you please advise if the Grill Pan Accessory for Viva Collection Airfryer, part number 882991020010 will fit the HD9220/ 50 model. It says on your website it is specifically compatible with the HD9220/ 20 (black) model, but does not mention other HD9220 models. As it does not appear to be available anywhere in store, I would need to order it directly from Phillips and have it posted out, and would therefore like to know if it fits before ordering. It seems likely that it would, if the digits after the slash refer only to colour, but would like confirmation before ordering ( i.e. get someone at Phillips to try it in a HD9220/ 50 model (white) for me and confirm it fits!). Oherwise I will have to pay 2 lots of postage if I order it, it doesn't fit and has to be returned.
