    Poor wear and dangerous

    published

I hit a pot hole and had to replace my Pzero neros. The tire shop said there was extreme wear (2/3 32nd) on the outside part of the tires. They also sowed me a disturbing amount of worn rubber inside the tires. The tire guy said the wear was so bad that it was dangerous to drive on other tires not affected by the pot hole. Here's the kicker, the tire only had 13,500 miles on them. Do not buy these tires.

    Very Very Grippy

    published

Fitted a set of 4 four weeks ago. Steering response is outstanding and cornering grip is amazing. Today it rained and in the wet they performed really well. These tyres are definitely not economy mileage tyres. Not sure how long they will last. If I get 40 km out of them I'll be happy.

Extremely expensive, not worth the grief of the unbearable road noise after 25,000Klms. Complaints to MB fell on deaf ears. They still think I was complaining about the low Klms, not so. My complaint was about the unbearable road noise. Next time, I'll buy a car whose manufacturer actually cares what its clients are saying. I'm off to replace the tyres, and it wont be with Pirelli.
Great when new, good grip and reasonably quiet
After 25,000 Klms, unbearable road noise. Fitted on to a new E280CDI.

With tyres that handle this well and grip in the dry and wet so predictably you can not expect a million kilometres, I think that in spirited use you will get around 30000 kilometres which is fine given the grip and steering stability these offer. I have these on my BMW 635CSi and had some previously on my BMW M3. With tyres you can choose any two attributes of low price, grip, long distance not all three, In order to offer great grip rubber has to be soft and soft rubber wears faster than hard rubber.
Directional stability is great, very good wet weather performance, perfect balancing and remain round
these tyres are more expensive than a lot of the competitors and get a bit noisy after halfway mark

    Tyre wear VS Grip

    published

Driving a Ford Falcon FG XR6 (245/35 R19). Driven 21,000 Kms and could probably get another 15K+ KMs out of them. Roads noise is minimal. Grip on all roads is good in the dry but average-to-low in the wet so keep a light foot on the accelerator in the rain. Would consider again for the durability but not for driving the kids around.
Tyre wear, tyre noise, $ vs KMs
Grip in wet, cornering grip overall

Extremely happy with these tyres so far - fitted to a Mazda3 MPS. They are excellent for fast cornering due to their strong side walls limiting side wall flex and in turn allowing for great grip when cornering at high speeds, excellent on winding roads :) These tyres also offer quite a smooth ride and far more quiet than the original Bridgestone Potenzas fitted to the car from the factory. There is definitely a noticeable difference which is positive. I'm not expecting any more than 25,000kms from them as I know a few people who have had them before and all extremely happy, apart from the price, but compare these to some cheaper tyres, you'll be glad to pay that little bit more, I am!
Very Quiet, smooth and great grip

I have these tyre on my Subaru WRX and find they are a great performance tyre with excellent cornering because of strong side walls which prevents tyre roll/flex. They are very expensive tyre and I will consider alternative makes.
    Excellent dry weather grip, conering.

In mid 2009 I had my 308 15,000Ks service and the dealership informed me I had about 40% life left in my tyres. In February 2010, we took the car in because of consist tyre pressure problems and steering vibrations, our dealer informed us the tyres needed immediate replacement... I was shocked to believe the types were toast at 28,000Ks - but the numbers add up when you take on board the dealers comments in 2009 - what doesn't add-up - how in the hell can you burn that much rubber in such a short distance? I will be replacing my tyres this week and I can tell you they will NOT be Pirelli.
