price of drinks onboard sea princess
Exorbitant
All drinks on Princess cruises are at the top end of the "extortionate" scale - but even so, you will most likely have to wait for an average of 8-10 minutes before being served. In some bars e.g. the sunset bar on Sun Princess, the staff are exceptionally surly.

Do we pay tipping on a cruise from Brisbane to Perth ..is how much there will be 3 in a cabin
1 answer
No it is not compulsory to tip. We just find it better to tip the people you are in direct contact with as the cabin stewart, restaurant waitress/waiter. Many people think this is unfair, but these are the lowest paid people and are always ready to oblige your every need with a smile.

How do the prices of Princess stack up against the other cruise ships?
1 answer
That's a hard one to answer, it depends on the sales prices you manage to get with the discounts, upgrades, free credits etc. I have found some excellent deals between P&O and Princess. In general though, they are very similar and stack up pretty much the same. The extra you may pay for Princess cruise you get back with more food options, for example, you pay for hamburgers and pizzas on P&O, they are free on Princess. There is a free room service menu in Princess. There are more free places to eat on Princess. Arguably the entertainment is slightly better on Princess (very subjective, depends what you like - we had a soprano and tenor on last time and they had amazing voices.

Hi Thorno
I have travelled on Sea Princess many times and Single malt Whiskey is personally one of my favourite drinks and the version that can be bought is very fine. The price at the liquor shop on Sea Princess is $320. Now i know ypu may be thinking that this is very high but i can assure you the staff told me it was made from the finest belgian malt.
I Hope this helps you
Thanks for getting back to me I brought a bottle of Macallan single malt for $59.95 a good price when I arrived home I went on line and found the same bottle for $125.00 I was very happy with my price in the Sea Princess

What kind of entertainment do they have for a 3 night sampler cruise on Sea Princess please.
2 answers
Hi I'm not sure but I would guess it would be the same as they have on what they call "sea days" on the longer cruises. During the day they have a mix of Trivia, Bingo, Dancing classes, wine tasting, movies on the big screen on the pool deck, there are a number of pools, hot tubs, a gym, a centre that does all types of facials, massages and also training sessions, there is a deck where you can walk right around the ship (you might need it after several 4 course meals three times a day).
In the evening they have Broadway type shows, karaoke, sometimes guest artists, there is a casino, always singers in the bar, there is a night club. Finally you can just relax, read a book or do nothing.
I have not been on such a short cruise...but some of the entertainment is OK...lots of it has been repeated if you travel constantly on Princess...we always go to the late show, first show in the theatre is always too hard to get a seat...If you want to sit there and hour before the show starts...

Can you put money before you cruise towards your Account?
4 answers
I would say yes because I paid for internet, drinks package, and excursions before I left and they all appeared (debits and credits) on my final account
Yes, absolutely...But I would wait until you board the ship...Princess have a very strange accounting system...check your account at least every three days.
Your spending is action via your credit or debit card, you are able to put cash into your on board swipping come spending account, all best conducted on board, checking my transaction has not so far had any hidden costs added, it is a cash less system and any purchase is well documented, enjoy

Hi we have the opportunity if we book to get a really great upgrade to a mini suite if we go in feb 2018 for a 7 day cruise from brisbane to port douglas return I'm a bit apprehensive about cruising during the wet/cyclone season, I'm wondering what others experiences have been we just got back from tassie on the golden had a wonderful experience and have learned a lot about cruising with a disability? tia

Don't know a lot about the wet season part of it but you should be ok on a ship, really
Take a mini suite though It tis worth any extra that you may have to pay for it
Brian
Thanks Brian but we have decided not to go, too many problems regarding the wet /cyclone season the heat will be a bit unbearable too I'm thinking.
If you are in a forward cabin in bad weather you get thrown around a bit whether you are in a mini suite or not. We went on the Sun (sister ship) from Brisbane to Sydney in April on the tail end of a low pressure system and it was brutal. This was in April, but you can hit bad weather any time. Both myself and my husband were very ill. Having said that the minis are lovely, layout more like a suite on other ships. They have a sep shower and bath tub too. i would not book another forward room, I would always opt for midship, mid aft or aft.

Hello, Im very excited ive just booked my first cruise not leaving till 17/12/17 its for 4 nights and 5 days to Airlie beach.... I was wondering how to get around the drink prices do they have happy hour? as they wont sell drink vouchers on four night cruises.
1 answer
Hi the drink prices are the same as for onshore maybe cheaper we found not worth getting any drinks package for 4 nights, cocktails start at about 11 bucks don't know about beer specialist coffees are about $2.50 for a cappuccino actually we couldn't believe how cheap they were, also we took a bag of soda water etc on board with us so it would be in our room you are also allowed 1 bottle of wine or champagne each but no spirits to take onboard if you want to take more you have to pay a corkage fee i think thats arround 15 bucks a bottle, they have happy hours just keep an eye out, happy cruising

No mate bring an adapter...............
No. They are American but the steward gave us one for the trip to return at the end. You would only pay if you failed to return it at the end of the trip.

Hello, Is it true that at happy hour you can buy a bottle of wine and another one for $1?
Thanks.

Sorry Adam I do not know the answer to your question. Perhaps give Princess a call and ask them. Cheers.
Hi just noticed your post have a look at my review of Saphire Princess cruise from Bejing to Singapore
Hi Adam, we were on the Sea Princess for the world cruise this year and there were 2 happy hours each day. The first was in the Legends bar from 3 -4 pm and then at the Wheelhouse bar from 10-11 pm. However, it only applied to beverages $14 and under, buy one then get the extra one for $1. Not sure if every cruise offers the same deal?

We are going on the sea princess in November 2016. There seems to be a lot of disinformation regarding the inclusive alcohol price. Some say its $59 per day others say its $75 per day.some say its cheaper to buy it once on the ship ???
Is there anyone out there who can answer this ???
3 answers
You can buy a Alcohol Drinks package in "cruisepersonalizer" online for $73.75 per day per person provided your cruise is 8 days or longer, otherwise it is "pay as you go". Our cruise is in December so I don't know any more than published in your "Cruisepersonalizer" Cheers.
Thanks for reply. When I referred to princess.com it lists the price as $59 AUD....hence the confusion. I have sent an e mail to princess to get them to clear it up.
I rang Princess and queried the price difference there is an error on their website and anyone who pays the higher price $73 odd dollars gets it refunded and charged the correct price of $59 odd dollars. The price is $59 for Australia

Will I be able to plug in my hairdryer from new zealand or will I need an adapter?
3 answers
personal hairdryers are not allowed to be taken on board, they are confiscated same with power boards. i know that some people did have these items on board. i know the dawn princess had built in hairdryers, but they are rather old and useless for blow waving. also dawn princess had aussie powerpoints, not sure about the other vessels.
You can take a hairstyler on board, I use a universal power adopter
sure you can....but you will need a damn long extension cord!?!

Can anyone please let me know the costs for any of the beauty (facials, massages etc )services onboard? We are sailing from Brisbane around the islands for 10 nights and we are trying to budget for extras. Also, are there tea / coffee making facilities in your room? TIA
1 answer
No Tea/Coffee making facilities in your room as it's all provided FREE in dinning areas etc. (Specialty Coffees are extra.) Here the power-points differ and Cruise Lines probably don't provide electric jugs etc. due to power consumption. Imagine 2000 passengers unnecessarily draining energy from the ships power grid? Room Service which is free aboard SEA Princess may be your perfect option upon waking up in your cabin.
You will find (cheaper) Body massage Specials available and going throughout the Cruise. No need to book online prior to departure. I indulged and pampered myself with a full body milk massage one day and a scalp massage treatment as another. Presently I can not find those receipts to give you a proper figure, plus I bought products. However full body massages are over $100.00AUD + 10/15%Gratuity, Tipping is optional.
