Qantas Premotion
I wish i read these reviews before loading UK pounds onto my card. They have a promotion on if you load more than $5000 dollars onto your card you get two Qantaz club passes. I registered and loaded the money and never heard a thing about it. I rang them and i m told you dont get them till 6-8 weeks time. That is good as i am travelling tonight . I just hope i do not have issues like what i read hear . Kicking myself i did not read the reviews before hand and so many of them.

PIN Wouldn’t Work Overseas & Customer Service Non-Existent
Travelled to Singapore in May, a few weeks after Qantas Cash changed to Qantas Money. Had previously used my card in Hong Kong three years ago with no problems.
PIN number wouldn’t work - kept being given “Incorrect PIN” message. The first time I assumed I’d entered it incorrectly, and tried again watching the keypad this time, no go.
Retrieved my PIN via the app - which was an issue in itself, had to enter a security code sent to my mobile number to login, but my phone wasn’t picking up any local providers, so no text messages getting throu...

Beware of bank fees
I loaded THB and EUR for a trip in May 10/19 fist experience was in Thailand where the ATM withdrew the THB transaction from my EUR. Then I noticed I was charged AUD for that and every subsequent withdrawl. That's around $10 AUD very pricey if you don't take out large amounts. In Italy where I used my EUR it was hard finding and ATM that would accept he card but they charged 3.5 EUR that's around $6.80 AUD per transaction. Qantas have promoted no bank transaction fees on withdrawls, better read the fine print its their own $1.95 AUD transaction...
Read more fee. They do however state that some banks 'MAY' charge a fee when withdrawing money overseas, yes that's very true and costly. Better to take cash you get a better rate and no fees. Lots of not so obvious terms and conditions backing this product up. Won't use it again it cost me hundreds of dollars in fees and headaches with ATM's just for the benefit of using it. By the way when i called Qantas about the THB,EUR,AUD issues they told me to contact the bank in Thailand. No CSV files download! What a rubbish!
Help and support says we can download our transactions with CSV files but when we called a support team, that function is no longer available. All we get is stupid PDF file and we can't copy and paste those figures to our excel spreadsheet.

Too good to be true
I thought the zero conversion and ATM fee would solve my problems. Loaded $50 to test the card and soon realised that not all Cuscal operated RediATMs with pin changing facilities are created equal. 3 out of 3 failed. Admittedly in hindsight 1 of the 3 did not have pin change capability. Qantas Travel Money were useless in directing me to a suitable ATM to change my pin and have no control over their 3rd party operated ATMs. If I can't do this one basic task before leaving the country, god help me if I have a problem whilst away with this card. No thanks.

What a joke!
Lost my card had to chase them and chase them to replace.
Despite their online recording says you can change pin online you can't.
It refers you to a Redi Teller machine and at that machine to do anything including just get a balance costs 2.50.
You cannot change the pin there either all you get is a balance or withdraw. I am sure if you could change your pin there they would charge you.
How does this card get a Canstar rating.

Continues to be the worst travel experience after a second try from 2 years ago. PATHETIC RORT.
I thought I'd give Qantas Cash a second time, event though it almost ruined our holiday 2 years ago. Call me a masochist.
This time, I loaded it with A$10,000 split between A4 and Euros, and travelled to Europe (Croatia, Slovenia, Italy, Austria).
#1 NONSENSE: Well - it doesn't work in CROATIA. They don't have an exchange rate or some nonsense. So I've got to change it to Euros and then take a bath on the local exchange rate.
#2 NONSENSE: I tried to pay to pay for a motor car transfer from Dubrovnik to Montenegro. Well that was apparently ...
Support for Lost or Stolen Cards
Had my cards stolen in Athens. Messaged Qantas twice and they got back to me 8 days later but did not answer any of the questions I asked. Since I have been back I have repeatedly tried to call them only to get a message to say that "they were experiencing a larger volume of calls than usual and please call back later". So I emailed them asking to call me and they have not responded. The Commonwealth Bank responded immediately.
If you were travelling alone with only a Qantas Card you would have serious issues. Think carefully about using this card

Impossible to activate card
Did my research online and found the Qantas travel money debit card to fit the bill perfectly to avoid ridiculous foreign currency conversion, transaction and, for the period of my upcoming travel, even ATM fees. I received my card within a week and that's when the fun started.
This thing is impossible to activate. I tried the Qantas Money Android app and all sorts of browsers on my home and work PCs. For some reason their system assumes I did not receive the card yet even though I most certainly did. Three calls to customer support and and sev...

What a mess!
I have travelled recently in The United States and Italy. Sometimes my card worked, other times not. My pin was rejected, so I got a new pin. It worked, and then it was rejected. I got a third pin which worked for a time and then not. I found my original pin would then work, but then not. So I am now home with a lot of unused money on the card.

Don't bother!
Waited 30 days for it to turn up, now I have to download verification form and take it to the post shop during work hours because it won't accept my driver's licence or passport. I am travelling in 2 days and most definitely will not have this card activated in time. Qantas you can shove your poor excuse for a travel card!
Biggest Rip Off In The History Of Banking
I saw their ad that the card has 0% international transaction fees and also you earn qantas points on top as well when you purchase overseas or online in foreign currency. Sounded too goo to be true but I said Ok lets try it. I loaded the card with 1500 AUD to purchase a ticket online which was in Indonesian IDR and when I checked the exchange rate on that day it was around 1400 AUD. I used the card and I saw with surprise that it has charged me 1520AUD, $120 more than what it should have charged me, even if I used a normal credit card with 3...
Read more% transaction fees it would have been $42 extra to pay 1442. I could not believe this, so had to call them several times escalated the matter and even went all the way to AFCA for complaint but AFCA also useless they said they haven't done anything illegal or wrong simply their exchange rate is far worse than others, I said what the hell does that mean this is MasterCard it should follow any other MasterCard rates globally, you mean I have to go and check every single card to see what rates they want to charge and get ripped off so there is no standard norm of rates? how could one card charge you almost 10% transaction fees due to their rate and claim it's 0%!!!! try to get away and put this crd in your drawer forever.Find out how Qantas Cash compares to other Travel Money Cards & Currency Exchanges

Why I shouldn't have wasted my time
From the start this was a debacle. Needing a new card as the previous one had expired (hadn't needed it) it took nearly a month for it to arrive. No too much of a big deal - except that in trying to activate card online the system didn't recognize my AU passport and DL details and then only gave me the choice of NZ passport. Not from NZ so bit of a problem. When I rang customer service he told me to just go to the post office as there was nothing they could do as I'd already tried doing it online. Weird! When I asked why their system couldn't/w...
Read moreouldn't recognize valid ID he had no response (not his fault it was outside of his script). No post offices in my area (5) knew what I was talking about and the one that did said I'd needed a form - couldn't find that online and hadn't been mentioned before hand. So 1 month to send a replacement card and nearly 6 hours of trying to get the card registered (in hind sight I should have called after the second post office doh!). Result - went somewhere else with more international support than mentioned by previous complaints. Q- 2 reviews
Almost non-existent and then a mostly incompetent service. AVOID!
Frequent business traveller with Qantas. Have been fortunate to have never needed to call service centre until now. Qantas Cash service below sub-par. Had a card problem overseas in Chicago. 6 phone calls and 3 hours on the phone (mostly on hold) to ascertain the card was permanently blocked due to unauthorized activity. Quite an expensive set of calls, a waste of my time, and ultimately had no access to my funds for the rest of the trip. Avoid! Look at an HSBC or 2 degrees card instead - have done my due diligence now...
Avoid using this money card at all costs!
Terrible service when trying to cash out. I spent the best part of 10 hours trying to cash out, after learning from my first phone call to customer service, that my card would not work. Every time I tried to cash out on their website, it would come up with a notification ‘ this site is experiencing technical difficulties, try again later’ . I once again had to call customer service, this time I was informed that I would receive a call in 48 hours from their faults department. I told them this was unacceptable due to me being overseas with limit...
Read moreed phone access. After about 20 minutes of going back and forth, as this person would not offer any other ways of fixing this. He finally sent me a form via email to complete, scan and re-email them. Totally stupid as I am travelling and this action is difficult to complete. And I learnt it would be at least 5 business days before I get my money returned. Absolutely terrible service, do not use this facility!!!!!Hard to load oversea
If you haven’t got phone service and only have WIFI it is hard to load cash onto it. Found much better options out there. They should go back to the old load method if they want to keep customers.
Very worried
We are leaving for one of the most amazing holidays of our lives in just a week, and the service has been abysmal. I have thousands of dollars in foreign currency paid for on this card, yet for the past week, I have been unable to add any more even though the Aussie dollar is falling very fast. I keep getting the same error message every time I try, and it doesn’t matter which credit card are used to transfer the funds. I called today, and I got no help. I worry that I have merely wasted thousands of dollars. I do not recommend the service and all. Just do the good old fashion thing and use your credit card overseas. Trust me, please.
They hook you with the prospect of points. The points aren’t worth the stress.
Forget it
The same situation as DebbieH. Tried to resolve it by using the online messaging system. In spite of numerous messages, absolutely no response. Not even an acknowledgment they received the many messages sent. I even sent them a solution as I happen to be in IT. Clearly they just trash all such messages. They want you to ring so you can be fobbed off there. So they offer a pseudo service and pretend they care! How does Qantas justify this when Qantas is written over every Qantas money anouncement? I got better service from a Citibank ATM that could at least tell me what was left on the card than Qantas money. If you conform to their idea of a common customer then fine. If not, they could not care less. Use something or someone else!

Used to be a fan - not now
I used to be able to log in to my Qantas Cash card with my frequent flyer number, PIN and password. Now they insist on sending an SMS - how is this supposed to work when I am in Europe and don't have access to my Aussie mobile number (it's a pre-paid that doesn't have roaming).
Looks like I might have to switch to my Virgin Travel card
IT'S A REAL SHAME
I have been travelling for the past two months and I have no problem of logging in to QantasCash to monitor my expenses and to reconcile my payouts. Now I am home I just couldn't log in to my account and every each time I log in to QantasCash it brings me to Qantas Frequent Flyer log in page. When I entered my details, they keep indicating that the details are not the same as they have on record. Have been a Frequent Flyer member for more than 20 years, and have been on QantasCash ever since it started. Now the hell, they merged QantasCash ...
Read moreand Qantas Frequent Flyer together to make it QantasMoney on website, and Travel Money on the App. Both are just the same it brings you back to Frequent Flyer log in. Either way I STILL couldn't log in to my account. It is a real disgrace to the name!let me down twice
They were having technical problems when I was in Lisbon last year, very embarrassing as I could not pay my Hotel Bill lucky I had a personal credit card
Cost me $40 in phone calls to find out they had a problem
Just tried to move some money today and guess what? site problems again . Tried to phone but gave up after hearing my call was important for the twentieth time

Qantas - Absolute Disgrace
The lack of service from qantas on supporting this product is an absolute disgrace. I have now been stuck overseas without access to my money for 7 days. Website is basically down. No responses no assistance. After being a FF member since 1994 l finally give up. What a massive mistake considering this product. It should be investigated by the Financial Ombudsman and their licence taken away. Customers treated with absolute contempt.
No hassle at all
Looks like there are people that are not happy with the Qcash service.
Suggestion is to go to another service provider.
If you do not like to fly QUANTAS, then fly Vergin or Tiger.
If you do not like to shop at Coles, then you go to Woolies.
Customer choice is a powerful action.
Good luck

Beyond uselss
I had troubles with this card last year but foolishly thought I'd try it again. Big mistake.
I loaded it with $500 before heading OS and it failed the first use. I called but was on hold for 25 mins before giving up.
I called again and same issue. Third time I finally got through and thought I was making progress when my call was disconnected. I emailed asking for a call back which didnt happened. Called again and was told the money would be refunded and I'd get a call back that day. Didnt happen. Same answer a few days later. Days later and I still have $500 sitting uselessly on this card I cannot transfer back or access and this company will not answer my emails, return my calls or help in any way. Just lies, lies and lies.
Rates nearly double what they say
Emailed Customer Service to find the Qantas commission on the exchange rate and was told it was 3%. I have done the maths on my purchases. The rate of commission was 5.74%. So nearly double and almost 6 cents in every dollar. A single purchase overseas cost me an extra $152 Aussie Dollars on top of the price. Keep away unless you got money to burn. Better (more honest) rates elsewhere
