Qatar Winner's in my books
Flew Economy Melb to Istanbul with an 8hr layover in Doha. Got to Melb airport and they'd changed my seat owing to safety reasons they'd shut off that area. Lovely lady at check in got me a seat in the upper deck. We were looked after so well. All night attendants would walk up and down the aisles with drinks or snacks. All were so lovely to talk to also. Plane left on time and arrived on time. Doha to Istanbul another great flight and again lovely attendant's. Flights again left on time and arrived on time.

The briks toiletries you receive, the Bar with such a friendly and happy guy working there. There was a long stop over in Doha and i was eligible to get a hotel that Qatar paid for. I organized that obviously before i left Australia. I've only ever used Emirates and my previous flight was 5 years ago but I'll definitely be using Qatar next time. Amazing. The only fault was with baggage handlers as the contents of 1 of my bags had the contents squashed. A cup and saucer got broken. Qatar flight crew, you're great at what you do. Avoid at all costs. Worst airline ever.
The very first and very last time I flew with Qatar airways was in December 2018 to go to Iceland from Sydney, Australia and returning from London back to Sydney, Australia in January 2022.
It's taken me a few months to write this review because the whole experience, end-to-end was so bad, and I wanted to never talk about, or think about Qatar airways again, but as I kept sharing this story with hundreds of friends, colleagues and relatives, everyone had the same question - you should complain, and you should get compensation.

r two reasons - (1) the word 'Qatar airways' brings extremely bad memories that I would rather forget forever; (2) when I returned I could not believe that the airline of the year in 2017 (which is why I decided to give them a try and fly with them) could have provided me with such extremely bad customer service and a horrendous experience, that I started to google reviews about them and everyone who had issues with this airline said that although they complained, Qatar did not respond with any seriousness, and it was a total waste of their time because they did not take any action or provide any compensation. So, out of principle now, advice from everyone who's heard about the story, and now that almost three months' has passed, and this is how long it took for me to get over these awful memories, I will share my end-to-end bad experience with Qatar airways so I can save other customers, and to also state why I will never travel with Qatar airways again, no matter how cheap. I should have just stuck with Emirates who provide exemplary customer service and comfort, and I really don't care they charge a premium. I am happy to pay a lot more to travel with them. To provide context this was my route, and it was all purchased on the one ticket, with Qatar managing all connections: Outgoing - Sydney, Australia --> Qatar --> Munich, Germany --> Reykjavik, Iceland Incoming / return - London, UK --> Qatar --> Sydney, AustraliaSimilar opinion? As a Frequent Flyer, Business, from Melbourne to Istanbul, it was a joy. Now a 7-8 hr layover at Doha! Qatar’s rules for using points is also disgraceful. Good Bye!

Best airline by far
I can’t believe the bad reviews on this page ! I travel with Qatar from Perth to UK at every opportunity . All our family have flown with them on different occasions & rate them the best airline. We are using them again in September 2022 to fly to London. The cabin crews are amazing, so polite, efficient & helpful. Planes are clean & roomy in economy. The meals are better than any other airline we have flown with & that is most of them. Looking forward to our next trip in September

Nice clean planes.staff very friendly and helpful
We fly generally Australia to England every twelve months and have used mist airlines and for economy class i feel that Qatar airlines have been about the best.
This is for value onboard service, quality of food drinks and large selection of entertainment
I will definitely be using Qatar next time

WORST CHECK IN EXPERIENCE EVER!
ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED by the way my 65 year old father was treated during check in at Sydney Airport today! He was questioned whether he really needed a wheelchair even though he has had major surgery in both his legs! Then he was told that he cannot be moved to a more suitable seat despite his injuries. Then after check in was completed and he was sitting down, he was approached by another consultant, had his hand luggage taken away from him then upon return he was told that it was over the weight limit by 4 kilos?? He was made to remove 4 kilos of clothing and they threw them in the bin! Even though he explained that he already removed 4 kilos at the check in counter!! Absolute horrendous treatment of the elderly. NEVER AGAIN!!

Worse airline ever - the air hostesses are bullies
this is the worst airline ever. The flight leaving Melbourne was delayed by 3 hours, then midway through the flight it made an emergency stop in bangkok due to technical problems. We were not allowed off the plane so we spent 2.5 hours at the airport inside the plane. Then the plane went to Doha and we had all missed our connecting flights and it was chaotic at the airport. 2 hours later i was finally told that to get to my final destination i will have to fly to denmark then make another transfer flight - i ended up arriving at my destination ...Read more
at 1:30 am in the morning. Then there was the horrible air hostess. I removed some rubbish that my neighbour chucked on the floor to the galley and got yelled at by a blonde haired air hostess who then gave me a 5 minute lecture on taking rubbish to her. i tried to explain that it wasn't even my rubbish but the bully refused to listen. I paid a lot of money for the flight - and got bullied by their air hostess. I emailed a complaint letter to qatar customer service and was told bluntly that all their staff are perfectly trained in customer service and the incident could not possibly have happened. what are pathetic company.Similar opinion? Qatar Dishonest
Qatar damaged my wheelchair. They refused to replace the part and offered half the replacement cost. After nine months I just agreed to settle the dispute. Now they are refusing to pay the signed agreed contractual amount. So dishonest and difficult to deal with.

Worse experience ever
Qatar airlines is the worse airlines. Dont trust them. Dont waste your money buying ticket from them. I received a notification 4 weeks before my flight that the flight schedule has been changed. The system asked me either to acknowledge this change or ask for refund. I didnt want to accept the change. I ask for refund... imagine this. They cancel the ticket and charge me the cancelation fees which is 370$ per ticket. They literally steal my money. I contacted them, there is some unprofessional people replying to your email. They dont understand what you saying. They have no feeling for people. They dont understand your situation. This airline took my money, ruined my holiday and even when i ask them to return the ticket, i will go ahead with the change, they say. NO... OMG. People, please dont trust this airline... Work booked a fantastic flight!
Worked required me to be in the UK for a week. We attempted to use the Kangaroo Route (QF Perth-London Direct) however Qatar was half the price. We flew Qatar business class and were impressed by the quality of service and the service level provided by the check-in staff, the attendants, and the cabin crew. The end-user-experience beats Qantas business class any day. The business lounge on-board the plane was very spacious as well - a good spot to stretch the legs and have a casual meeting. So disappointed with their response
Last leg of our business flight was on a 777 jet that should have been retired in my opinion. I contacted Qatar via email after searching diligently to make a complaint. Just a few issues to note. Excessive engine noise even without the cancelling headphones. Reclining seat was so uncomfortable I had 1 hour sleep on the flight from Doha to Sydney. Terrible food. personal items. Very little space except the food tray to put a drink. The media was too far away, with no privacy from the other passengers. What you were viewing was in plain view. Felt very vulnerable and exposed. No personal care as before on business. No room whatsoever to move around the cabin or even stretch. Not even a back section on this particular aircraft. Completely enclosed by a curtain. No one got out of their seat the whole flight only to go to the bathroom. I could go on but I think this is enough. Very distasteful experience flying with Qatar Airways
As a Oneworld frequent flyer, I have traveled quite a lot in the past and this is the first complain I have ever made. lane arrived with barely enough time for me to make the connecting flight to DOH. As I approached the gate, out of breath from running, one of their ground staff denied me from boarding for the reason not having sufficient document for traveling, which was not true at all. I patiently told her that I had all the necessary documents required by Irish immigration office for my study, including an original Letter of Acceptance from my school, proof that school fees have been paid and evidence of finance. Here's the thing, because Taiwanese passport holders do not need a visa to travel to Ireland for 90 days, the Irish government has this rule that we only need to carry the document mentioned above to enter the country and then will be able to retain the student visa stamp after arrival. The ground staff in BKK really gave me the impression that she doesn't care a word I said and refused to wait for me to make any calls to embassy to seek proofs. She literally asked me to go home and give up since she did not care whatever said on the website of Irish Naturalization and Immigration Department when I showed it to them. I could not believe how poorly Qatar Airways dealt things like this way, and the staffs were unbelievably arrogant. With no instructions of where to go to get further information, they just told me the next flight is 21 hours later, so I could either fly back home or buy myself another return ticket. I had no choice reluctantly paying 60USD on arrival visa in Thailand to get out and try to find a gate agent, but nobody was anywhere to be found. There wasn’t anyone at the gate, and no employees were found at the ticketing office either. When I finally was able to find a Qatar employee after over 12 hours, who explained that she had no authority to decide anything for me and asked me to wait for another 5 hours until other staffs are on duty. And of course, no solutions from anyone after 5 hours. This experience has caused me to feel like their policy is simply to “pass the buck” onto someone else time and time again until there isn’t anyone at the end of the line. The customer service number would easily result in another two-hour wait on hold, so reluctantly I spent 250USD on the next flight and 500USD on a return ticket I don’t even need since I would not finish my school in only 90 days. When I arrived in Dublin, the immigration officers did not even ask for any return tickets, and instead, after reviewing all the documents which I also showed their staffs previously, they placed me a stamp and I was good to go. With all the delays included, I finally arrived at my destination over 30 hours later than anticipated. I had spent over €2,000 in additional costs, not mentioning that they lost my luggage when I arrived in Dublin. It was a series of problems, one on top of another. Not just a single failure to perform, which I definitely be understood. After months and months of trying to contact their customer service, they only refunded me the NO SHOW fee of the flight they denied me from boarding! Unbelievable.Similar opinion? Craphouse customer service
booked flights to Barcelona and from Athens (to from Melbourne) have tried to contact Australia office by phone and on hold for hours on more than one occasion then hung up.
Tried Emailing and re-emailing several times with the issue an no answer after months of me "harassing" them.
Hope the flights are better.

I flew from Adelaide to Doha and then from Doha to Zagreb. The plane I flew on to Doha was an older plane. The seats were small and there were barley an shows/movies to watch, which they should probably unpdate. The plane I flew on to Zagreb (Croatia) was better but the seats were still quite small and i personally didn’t find them that comfortable. could tell it was full of preservative, and it also took FOREVER to come. I hardly ate anything on the entire flight. Even the water tasted odd for some reason... Yeah I’m not satisfied. Absolutely Incredible Experience!
I’ve flown on Qatar Airways multiple times now and they are incredible. The food is good and the soft product is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I will never fly with anyone else ever again. The staff are amazing and the seats are comfortable. The inflight entertainment and Doha Airport is amazing.

Booked a flight with Qatar airways to Europe.
Tried to get assistance with seating given wearing aid for mobility though was told I was only able to check in on the day to see if it was available. Shocked at this response I reiterated my point but was told again that the ground staff on the day can check to see “if” they can assist me.

y many emails back and forth I offered to pay an upgrade fee to business class at a reduced rate though again was denied stating I needed to pay full fare. Think of it, just to get a seat to assist me during the 14 hour flight I offer to pay but am knocked back. Dont go Qatar
Arrived back in Sydney from a stop over on Doha (on the way back from Europe), had a horrific experience with this Airline, Delayed leaving Sydney 8hrs then in Europe on the way back 6 hrs ( no meal vouchers ). Lost our luggage on the Barcelona to Doha segment ( was going to deliver it SOMETIME the next day when they finally found it) all my medication in the bag.. The lack of communication, responsibility and care was unreal. Asked them to email my Husband, already in Europe when the flight was delayed at departure from Sydney, promised.
they never did, he thought id got lost. Food less than average crap Airline, Does someone know if they have a representative office in Sydney?

No Show Fee
Disgusting Airline - they will not waiver my no show fee despite my mother passing away while I was in the departure lounge waiting to board a flight. I was in no fit state to be on a plane for 16 hrs.

No customer service
Recently purchased 2 tickets to travel to Europe (still 8 months away) after flying Lufthansa for many years. Can't get the seats I want (my son is autistic ) . Trying to call Qatar Airline main customer service to not available, trying to join privileged member program ( the system will not let me) . I hope that system will let me cancel the tickets but judging by previous experience it's probably no chance of that.
