Reu-2424W-A About 15 yrs old that works fine when only mains water being used. We have a tank plumbed into the toilets and washing machine. The B24 is just outside the bathroom window. The manual talks about water controller pads. I dont have one in the unit. Is it a remote control or separate unit?

Control panel for Rinnai 24 keeps dropping to 12 degrees from the set 50 degrees and water is not consistently hot. Any help?
Thanks for the question WJB, if the control panel is showing 12 it sounds like an error code rather than the temperature. Error 12 usually indicates a Flame Failure/low gas flow. We would recommend ...

We have a Renai 24 and have had it for about 15 years.
It services the whole house for whole water and has 3 controllers.
Just in the last couple of days it has started to act intermittently.
Sometimes its ok and other times there is no water e.g. the hot tap doesn't run.
I have tried turning the power off and then on again and it did start to work again but only for a short while.
What do you suggest as a coarse of action?
Thanks for the question Fred, there could be a number of things that could be causing the issues you have described. The first thing we would suggest is to clean the filter in the unit as a build up ...

They are available until 5.30pm week days on 1300 555 545It seems to me that cutting in and out during different times of the day or night is a common problem with Rinnai instant tank-less systems. We have had our Rinnai 24 for a couple of years and it does exactly that. In/Out sometimes during the day. When it's out - completely doesn't work what ever you do (I have been recommended to turn Power switch to it for about 1min, then Turn it On and try it again).
Our question to Rinnai is has this issue been addressed in new models and have you got a solution to it?
Thanks for the question El 2017. Generally if the unit has been installed and sized correctly for the water and gas flow there should be no issue with cutting out. There does need to be a good flow ...
Read morerate through the unit for it to work effectively. if the tap is not turned on enough the unit may cut out. turning the tap on more or using a water controller can resolve this issue. Controllers mean you are setting the temperature you want at the tap so the unit is only having to heat to this temperature and no cold water needs to be mixed. This means the amount of flow rate through the hot water system is increased too.Hi to the service department,
I have Rinnai 24. The unit stop delivering hot water and water start liking from the unit.
Any suggestions.
IS THERE VAFILTER TO CLEAN INSIDE?
Regards,

Thanks for the question Bob, it is hard to diagnose without inspecting the unit but unless one of the pipes to the unit has developed a leak, the most common issue would be a leaking heat exchanger. ...

We have just moved into a house with a Rinnai 24 hot water system. It takes approx 10 litres of water to run until it gets warm/hot in any taps of the house. Accordingly, the water bill is extremely high and is such a waste. What could the problem be? Would appreciate input.

I have a Rinnai B24 and we have an all day power outage coming up. Is there any way to manually light pilot to get hot water? Phil
usually no power no hot water unless you are clever and can hook up a battery back up at the unit.
Is there a copy of instructions for how to light a pilot light for a Rinnai Infinity 24 gas hot water heater? I have one where the power went off and it seems to have knocked out the pilot and the instructions have faded away.
Hi Mike C. Try unplugging your unit from the wall at the power point, waiting about 5 mins then plug back in and turn on a hot water tap. This will re set the unit and usually fixes the problem.
Thanks. Unfortunately, the unit was old and apparently the power going off caused the electric board to burn out and had to be replaced with newer gas heater. Fortunate for us really because the gas p...

Drops from 36 degrees at the shower head to 30/31 every 1 - 2 minutes or so and back up again. Called out a plumber who says it might be a thermostat or the impeller but obsolete model so no parts available. Someone suggested to him to look at installing a control panel. Don't know at what cost but its not sensible to spend money on an old unit I believe. Any idea on sourcing parts?
Sorry. I cant help you eith this.
