Not bad once you figure it out
I wrote a question here before about use, but amending it due to experience :). At first it looked like the wash didnt work, but this products more effective if youre pet gets and keeps an even lather on their full body for a few minutes (2 minutes minimum 5 minutes maximum) before rinsing off (but try to avoid them licking it off because whilst non toxic it can make their tummy a little queezy). My oldest cat is 15 and my youngest is 6 months and neither had any issues, though my runty cat got a bit intoxicated by it on first use because i wa...
Read mores over zealous with the amount i put on. dont over do it. pat shampoo away from eyes to avoid eye contact andAs long as you have a decent lather it will work well :) Lastly i find this works best as a combo treatment. Animal safe lavender or teatree spray for bedding and cloth areas after their bath helps keep fleas at bay and you should wash your pets a minimum of once every 2 weeks if they arent the extra dirty kind of pet :) If this is a temporary thing (once off for relief) i found that my cats fealt best the day after treatment. Some fleas will die immediately, most will die during the stay on lather, the rest will avoid your pet a few days after the bath due to the smell (which smells nice for humans and is alright for the cats). My cats smell lovely afterwards and look shiny :) You should wait at least 4-7 days before adding any topicals on though so as not to increase your pets chance of sensitivity or reaction.

Doesnt Work Very well
I have 4 cats have washed them repeatedly with this stuff, over a year have gone through 2 bottles, it generally kills a few fleas but straight after they dry there is still fleas alive and crawling around on them. ive tried multiple methods of washing, rubbing the shampoo in and letting it sit for a bit before rinsing. nothing seems to work. i had used a different brand prior and found within 1 wash it would kill the fleas without them coming back. for the last 2 summers using this stuff i have had to go buy provecto to solve the issue as this shampoo didnt

Dear Blake,
Thank you for getting in touch with us fellow feline lover,...
Read more I'm sorry to hear that Rufus & Coco Flea Flee doesn't appear to be working, usually our customers tell us the exact opposite! Flea Flee contains a natural extract called Pyrethrin which is extracted chrysanthemum flowers and affects the nervous system of insects; immobilising (killing) them on contact. Sometimes these pesky fleas can run to the head of the cat or stay in other dry spots when you are washing your cat – do you think this could be the case? I know that it is tricky to wash the cats head as we are keen to keep the product away from our petseyes. Perhaps the other explanation is that there are still some fleas and/or their eggs in your pet's living areas. The lifecycle of a flea can be as little as 2 weeks. We recommend washing all bedding on a hot cycle to make sure that there are no eggs hiding in the fibres (you probably won't be able to see them). This will assist in stopping anymore flea eggs from hatching. We also recommend lightly spraying citronella or flea spray around bedding and living areas to keep those irritating fleas at bay. Please check the expiry date on your product. The product will be less effective after this date. Wishing you and your felines all the best, Rufus & CocoAbsolutely avoid - allergic reaction in my dog
I washed my dog with this “Flea Free” shampoo after finding a flea on her. I followed the directions to the letter, applying from the neck down, and rinsing well, however within an hour she developed a swollen face and puffy eyes. One of the ingredients is chrysanthemum which is toxic to dogs. I won’t be purchasing from this brand again as there are next to no reviews online for this product which is suspicious in itself. Attached are photos of my pup to highlight the severity of her allergic reaction.
Hi Steph,
Thank you for getting in touch with us....
Read more We were very sorry and shocked to hear about your experience with our Flea Flee shampoo. This product originally launched in 2012 and in those 8 years we have never encountered any report of cases like your own. The team at Rufus & Coco take great pride in ensuring that our products are of great quality and we certainly take concerns like this very seriously. Chrysanthemum flowers are indeed toxic to dogs when ingested, however the key ingredient of this product is actual pyrethins. Pyrethrin’s are a natural extract from chrysanthemum but do not hold the same properties and have been tested to be safe for dogs. All our flea products are registered with the Australian Pesticides & Veterinary Medicines Authority which is a government regulatory body and in order to be registered, each of our products must first be approved as safe and effective. Unfortunately, as can sometimes be the case for both humans and pets, there is a small chance of an allergic reaction anytime we try a new product. Though any reaction is certainly rare and again highly unusual in your case as you have mentioned the product did not come in contact with your pet’s face. Despite any of this, we truly hope your little one is feeling better today and can certainly understand your distress in a situation like this. Should you have any questions, concerns or would like to discuss your experience with us further please give our team a call on +61 (0) 2 9960 5019. Does the job
I used this for my cat who has flea bite allergy and was going mad itching even though I couldn't see fleas on her. She stopped tearing her fur out immediately after bathing with this product. I have a calm, happy kitty!

Questions & Answers
How long must lather stay on cat to kill fleas?
Do you need to comb fleas out? My cat hates water so I gave her a quick lather and dunk but it wasn’t too effective so is it a timing thing etc? :)
Hi Charlene,
My dog had a horrible reaction to this product, and I only left on for a short period. We have since found other products to treat fleas that are more affective and do not produce an allergic reaction.
Hi Steph. What do you recommend? My poor kitty is having a hard time with fleas atm
Hi Charlene,
Thank you for getting in touch with us!
I'm sorry to hear that Flea Flee doesn't appear to be working, usually our customers tell us the exact opposite!
Fleas can be a real pain to get rid off, particularly if fleas and their eggs have also infested your pet's living areas which could be the case with your pesky problem.
How to get rid of fleas & lice:
First, get your little mate all wet with warm water. Now put 20 to 50ml of Rufus & Coco Flea Flee on the coat (depending on size) and massage in. Rinse and repeat – with a good lather! Rinse again.
Do this every week and you’ll give your pet maximum protection against fleas, lice and ticks.
We advise washing all bedding on a hot cycle to make sure that there are no eggs hiding around (you probably won't be able to see them). This will assist in stopping anymore fleas from hatching.
Once the fleas are under control, we advise washing weekly in the warmer months to prevent further outbreaks. We also recommend lightly spraying citronella or flea spray around bedding and living areas to keep those pesky fleas at bay.
