do you have another battery you can try to see if it is the trimmer not working? If not take it back to Bunnings as it will be under warranty. Remember to take your receipt as proof of purchase (date)

Check & charge your battery, all failing return it

Claire Bear
Claire Bear

Two possibilities -
1 the battery needs recharging - either recharge or replace the battery with a fully charged one.
2 the battery could of over heated. It will not work if it gets too hot so let it cool down and try again later.
If these do not solve the problem return it too the store.

With battery fully charged as indicated by the green lights...the trimmer will not operate when trigger is squeezed. Just all of a sudden, would not work. Last used a week ago. No problems at that time. Any chance the trigger is defective?

You buy another replacement spool. Just pop the old one off and the new one on. You could pull the spool apart and just replace the line (it comes apart easy) but I haven't done this myself.

I have just rewound new cutting line, following the instructions. However, the line does not last long; I have to stop cutting, removed the bty, then manually lengthen the line, then start cutting again.

On the line spool, there are two sets of slots which I would assume are used to secure the line? Help please; Unable to use the line trimmer. Thanks

When the switch is released the automatic line feed is feeding out about 25mm of line. This seems too much as the line is being used too rapidly. Is this the way it is meant to work? Or is there a way of adjusting the amount of feed or perhaps disengaging the line feed?

Unknown to me the spool cover fell apart while I was using it. I realised what had happened when I stopped it to see what the strange noise was. I had a new one but before I replaced it I had to clean some cut grass away a a small spring fell out of the part where the spool goes but I don't know where it came from to replace it. Any ideas please??? thanks.

Yes, I had look at mine. The push button/slide piece to release more string slides in when u push it in. Behind/under that slide piece is a small spring that returns the slide/ button., You may need to fiddle with it a bit and put that spring back in.Good luck u should be ok. Worst thing Ryobi should/could sell u a new spool. I have another brand machine and bought on Ebay a new spool $15.00.

I had worked out that it belonged to that button but I can’t work out where the spring goes. A photo of where it goes would be useful please. As I said I have a new spool and the cap cover thing. A rather poorly designed part as far as I’m concerned. This is my 3 rd one in 4 years!
