Very disappointed in manufacturing quality of this saw
During the unboxing, the first sign of the issues to come was that the decals had been placed upside down on the saw during manufacture. While initially this was going to be an easy fix, the issues continued as the number of critical safety feature bolts and limit stops were only fitted finger tight. The main fence did not have enough adjustment to tune out angle errors on the deck to ensure a nice 90 Deg Cut. A number of fixing screws were fitted with two spring washers instead of a spring and flat washer. While I could over look some of the p...Read more
roduction errors and tighten missed bolts and replace missing washers, it became apparent that this particular saw had more issues than just poor assembly during production. The saw was returned to Bunnings who looked at the saw and was going to advise the Ryobi rep of the issue. I also advised Ryobi Australia and they said thanks, but not interested. It's a shame as this could have been a good safe product, if a little more care and pride was taken during the build process.

Bit disappointed
The build quality of the saw overall seems fine for a unit at this price point. There are some minor issues like the tiny ineffective dust bag and the laser lens that appears designed to collect debris and require constant cleaning.
My greatest concern though is the saw blade itself. On mine there's a noticeable distortion that results in a cut somewhat wider than the kerf width. I don't have a dial indicator handy to measure the runout, but it looks something like 2-3mm when rotating at low speed. I removed and cleaned the blade arbor area an...Read more
d flanges in case it had been assembled with some foreign gunk in there, the problem seemed to improve slightly but it's still noticeable. What this means is that cuts must be made incredibly slowly, otherwise it sets up a fairly violent shudder which is the last thing you want to see in a large powerful saw. So my options now seem to be either dismantling the whole thing, cleaning it, boxing it up and doing the 160km trip to the nearest Bunnings (assuming they want the whole thing back to process it under warranty) and rolling the dice on another. Or buying a better quality blade at my expense (these things are not cheap!) I'm disappointed that this slipped through whatever QA Ryobi perform, some things should be above cost-cutting just for safety reasons if nothing else. (Footnote: this two-star review was originally submitted to the Ryobi website, I even checked the box to suggest that overall I recommend the product. Did they show any interest in discussing it? Nope. Did they perhaps offer a solution where we could exchange the faulty component by post rather than returning the entire large unit? Nope. Their solution was to delete the review. Bit of an insight into the Ryobi corporate culture right there).

Afternoon,
I have been trying to adjust the bevel angle on my EMS305RG to 45 deg. but it will not extend past about 35 deg. and that is using some force. There doesn't appear to be an obvious obstruction, eg. compacted sawdust. Any suggestions?
Thanks
