Terrible baby choked !

published

Bought this as was cheaper and was prev using aptimal but this was on sale. After feeding and burping baby I put to bed after a bit. My baby woke up choking where she somehow had brought it up and breathed in what looked like curdled milk. I had to grab her out and turn her over and clear her blocked nose from the milk she spat up. This never happened with aptimal and won’t use this crap formula again also the teats blocked every time and wouldn’t come out of bottle. Waste of money !! Oh and turned baby’s poo green and smelly runny

Still regurgitating on this formula

published

I decided to switch to S26 gold AR as my son has reflux. Unfortunately he is still throwing up a lot on this formula after feeds, and it comes up as thick curdled milk. Won’t be using this formula again.

Clumps clog bottle

published

Spent all night straining out mixture as clumps don't break down properly. Daughter gets small amounts before formula clogs the test. We use S-26 normally and since they were out of the one we use we bought this as a replacement.
I would not recommend.

Worst formula, does not breakdown and blocks up teat. I even have fast flow teats. My daughter gets upset and frustrated as can’t drink due to constant blockages. Won’t be buying again!

My son has reflux as soon as I changed from S26 gold to S26 gold a.r
He no longer threw up after feeds, I'm glad S26 has a reflux formula so I could still stay with the same brand.

Thick, gluggy and awful

published

Formula is so thick and clumpy and doesn’t break down in water. Baby gagged several times due to clumps of formula coming through treat and it’s caused massive constipation. I’m switching from S26 altogether.

Blockage

published

Brought this for my newborn and will not be buying it again! Such a waste of money. My baby didn’t get to try it as it was insanely thick and maybe one or two sucks if lucky before she was screaming because it was blocked!
Tried heating it up and made no difference and tried in different bottles/teats! And still blocked up!... such a disappointment!!!

Disappointed

Made no difference for my daughter unfortunately, made her very constipated.
Such a shame as I had read so many good reviews about it. Would not recommend don’t waste your time this is the worst formula I have ever used. Preparing it is also a nightmare.

Great Formula

published

My baby was originally on the s26gold which gave her extremely bad Reflux, but started her on s26 AR and it is the best thing I did for my baby she loves it and her vomiting/reflux has gone it's hard to mix so I stir it before shaking but this formula is really helping her alot I'd recommend this to any mother that's going through this situation makes the baby happy and the parent stress free

Good and affordable

published

My baby likes this formula and it's easy to prepare. No constipation and seems like my baby satisfied the milk. And the price is affordable and sometimes on special at chemist warehouse. I always buy in bulk if it's on special or discounted price. And easy to get even travelling to asia.

It is a great formula

published

This is not the regular brand I usually buy. But there were not stock of A2 in the Coles so I gave it a try. It is easy to prepare, you put two spoons of milk powder, fill in some water and shake it. That is done. The information on the tin is easy to understand and follow. The baby didn't seem to taste the differences and drank all of it. Up to now, he seems OK and none side effects have been noticed.

Great formula, love it !!

published

I think this is a great formula, in the beginning our baby was on S26 gold but was throwing up a lot, the doctor didn’t diagnose him with actual reflux but he was pretty unhappy and everytime we fed him an awful lot seemed to come back up . I decided to give AR a try and have never looked back, straight away it agreed with him and he’s still on it now at 6 months old . It seems a lot thicker and heavier when you first mix it up compared to the normal formula but I guess that’s maybe why his little tummy was able to keep it down . He didn’t get Constipated either . It’s great stuff

Good product

Information on the tin is easy to follow making preparing bottles easy. Have just given to my fully breast feed baby and seems to be working well. Will continue to use as my baby has reflux and this formula seems to be working. Would recommend this formula to other mums.

Little goes a long way

published

Not as easy to mix as the original, but if you combine formulas it mixes easily and you can mix it with some expressed breast milk too, baby doesn't seem to mind the taste, the spit-up seems pretty reasonably coagulated. Hard to tell if it gives my baby gas or if she's swallowing gas from the teat when bottlefeeding

I want the old formula back!!!

published

I would have given the old formula 5/5 but with the new tin there has been a slight change in the formula & the vomiting has started again. Not as bad as other brand formulas I've tried but enough to consider trying a different brand again.

Clogs teats a lot

published

I have used this for both my reflux babies. I have found that I have had to make up their bottles using 50/50 ratio of AR to Original formula as AR alone is far too thick. Even with the fastest flow teats it still clogs them a lot. This makes feeding time very frustrating for parent and baby.
It does seem to help with the vomiting a bit though so we stick with it.

Does anyone know if S26 Gold AR is being discontinued as I’m finding it really hard to find and it’s been on clearance in a couple of woolies ??

Hi Penny, S-26 Gold AR has not been discontinued. However Woolworths has made a commercial decision to no longer stock S-26 GOLD AR in some of their stores. S-26 GOLD AR remains available in a wide range of other outlets including other supermarkets and pharmacies. If you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact the Careline on 1800 552 229. The Careline is available on Monday to Friday between 9am to 5pm AEST.

Thank you very much for the response. I will shop around until I find somewhere that is going to continue to carry it . I am very happy that I can still feed it to my 6 month old baby as it really agrees with him .

Is there S26 antiregurgitation Stage 2?

2 answers
Loveit
Loveit

S26 Gold AR Is for 0-12 months, by 13 months hopefully your little one would have grown out of the reflux-y stage

Sonny
Sonny

There isn’t a stage two, however the tin available goes from birth to 12 months so a stage two isn’t needed.
I never realised until my health nurse told me but going on to stage two isn’t actually needed, you can stay on the formula from birth the whole time.
