Quality coffee at home
18 months ago decided to take the leap from "Department store" type coffee machines that had served us well for many years, to an Italian type machine. Big decision due to price and after research and advice from the seller decided on the SAB entry level machine (despite being prepared to pay more the sales advice we got suggested that we would gain very little by spending another $1 k or more).
Great decision, this machine make cafe quality coffee every time, as long as you are prepared to do your part and put the effort in to learning how to use it, which really isn't that hard.

Consistently great coffee!
After many years of using cheap, home kitchen-brand coffee machines and ever striving for a full flavour cuppa, I finally decided to invest in a serious machine. A scary decision, as the price point starts at ten times the price of my old machine, but a decision that turned out to be a very good one.
Ask a coffee roaster or barista what they consider a good machine to have for the home and the names ECM and Rocket Espresso keep popping up... SAB is a newer and lesser-known brand, but of the same calibre and build quality, and at a slightly...Read more
lower price point. This is an absolutely first-class machine: E61 head, boiler with thermosiphon/heat-exchange system, heavy duty polished stainless steel construction: many of the features of a commercial machine in a domestic footprint. Looks gorgeous on my bench and once I made friends with it, it delivers amazing coffees every time, rivalling the best I've had in a cafe. Although the boiler in this machine is the vibration type and a little noisy, the noise is very brief and occasional, and I don't find it to be an issue considering the cost savings over machines with a rotary pump. If you're used to a thermoblock machine like I was, there are a few things worth noting: 1. Boiler machines need to heat up before use, which can take up to half an hour when completely cold (although you can halve this time by running some hot water through the head before use - and warm your cups up at the same time...)
