If you like spending money at every turn, then this is the machine for you!
Sure, take this review with a grain of salt, this is my 'experience' with owning a Breville Oracle, but like many others, my Breville Oracle has been a over priced white elephant.
The final straw causing me to write this review is after many smaller/cheaper repairs, now after 4ish years of ownership, my machine has a failed group head collar, this would normally cost ~$10 in parts to fix as advised by my local repair company, seems reasonable but due to these parts being superseded for my earlier build unit and not sold anymore by Breville, th...Read more
ey are advising the machine now needs $600 worth of the repairs to retrofit the new version of the the superseded $10 part into my machine. The good news is the next time this $10 part fails, I'll be able to replace it myself. YAY. Way to treat early buyers of this machine Breville. What a joke, so a repair was requested from Breville as part of my Australian consumer rights for them failing to stock parts and not supplying a machine of acceptable quality for its price point, but Breville just laughs at things like that. Australian Consumer rights are something Breville doesn't acknowledge exist. For a machine that cost $2500 in its day, my expectations for this coffee machine that costs this much is that it should have parts available at a reasonable price, and shouldn't be needing major repairs in this time period of ownership. So far during the life of this machine, its had the water pump replaced twice, the water flow sensor replaced, its had the o-rings replaced twice for 'leaking' or 'hissing', I'm now told it also needs a new steam pump, a new steam arm and of course a new group head assembly.Purchased in February 2021 for $2,499.00.

Love our coffee machine!
We have had our machine for 3.5years
, it is used daily by many and consistently makes a fantastic cup of coffee, so much so I don’t like purchasing coffee when we are out!
I do prefer to manually foam milk with the machine as the automatic function does not have a great amount of froth. The machine also needed extensive repair just before it ran out of warranty as some internal parts were not working; however this was covered under warranty and it has been working perfectly since.
It’s expensive but well worth it for the great coffee it makes!

5 years and still going strong
Highly recommended coffee machine, from the time I've got this - it's my daily driver for the morning coffee.
Consistent coffee every time. If you change the beans (start with Grind setting @30) and adjust accordingly based on the beans) to get a perfect extract.
Very easy to maintain and clean and low maintenance machine.
It takes around 2-3 min to start (warm-up)
Easy to fill water, a big water tank inbuilt and an indicator to show the level. Filter change every 3 months (you can buy a pack of 5 filters (around $25 if you shop around).
Easy to clean - just follow basic instructions on below youtube link.

Emily in WA, came to give myself and husband a white glove demonstration of our coffee machine. Emily was amazing, friendly, kind and patient, she explained everything to us and more, it was well worth the experience and purchase, we cannot sing Emilys praise enough as she showed us how to make quality coffee, in the comfort of our own home. Thank you Breville and a big thank you to Emily, thank you.

Good machine
The machine has generally operated well but after 2.5 years it constantly required repairs. Luckily the authorised repairer was decent and would provide warranty on his repairs. The lifespan of the product needs to be increased so that it doesn’t start breaking down after the warranty period!

Best thing I have ever bought
I've had all sorts of coffee machines, including high end, fully manual Italian ones, without a doubt the Oracle is the best one I have ever had, with the in house, white glove service, I was full bottle on the way to use it and look after it, the dedicated Oracle phone line is another bonus

Great but complex
This machine makes a great cup of coffee however it can be a bit complex. Thoroughly reading the instruction manual helps. The machine also goes through coffee quite fast however I love that It has a contained grinder and tamping mechanism so I dont have to clean up any of that bean dust that seems to get everywhere with other machines. This feature alone makes the appliance unbeatable

Heavenly Coffee
The best thing I have ever spend money on.
If you look after it, service it and clean it the quality will always be maintained.
Remember to use fresh beans and not your regular grocery store packed. Find a good local roaster and your will be brewing better coffee then most cafes

Great coffee, but beware of the after-sales service
First the good: this is a beautiful machine! It is so easy to use and makes a great coffee, consistently. Our Oracle is the most loved and used appliance in our kitchen. Breville's White Glove service means that someone will come to your home and show you how to use the machine and give you tips on how to make a great coffee and clean the machine. Our guide, [name removed], was brilliant!
Now for the bad. Unfortunately, our machine had a leaky water compartment. Nothing major - the water compartment leaked, leaving a puddle of water on our ben...Read more
chtop if we didn't empty the water compartment after each use. We discovered the problem only after sustaining water stains to our stone benchtop. At this stage the machine was 11 months old. We contacted Breville and they arranged for our machine to be repaired under warranty. This is where things went downhill. The nearest service centre was on the north side of Brisbane. The person we were dealing with at Breville never mentioned to us that they can arrange a courier to pick up the machine. This would have been very helpful for us with small children and a heavy machine. Upon delivery to Breville's repairer (Queensland Coffee Machine Sales and Service) we were told that they would have the machine a minimum of 10 business days - longer if parts were required. We waited 9 business days and received an email advising us that parts were required so they would be back in touch when the parts arrived. They did not provide an update as to when it would be available. We followed up a week later (3 weeks at this point) and were told that the technician had discovered another part that was required, which had been ordered from Breville but would further delay the machine.Purchased in November 2021.

Barista Coffee At Home!!
Great coffee, the crema is great. We have used a number of different brands of coffee and haven't had any issues. We just adjust the coarseness and pour time. We get a consistently great coffee every time.
Another thing we love about this machine is it has a big water tank so we're not having to fill it up all the time. The temps are set to standard and are adjustable if you want however we like the standard temp. We have recommended it to family members and so far two different side of the family have purchased one.

We bought our Breville Oracle during the promotion period in August but our Pablo coffee beans ran out within the first two weeks of the teething period. Wish we had been supplied more.

When it works, it's great. Sadly, it regularly doesn't work.
We bought the Oracle in Dec 17. Within the first 10 months the steam wand stopped working and it took over 2 weeks to be fixed. Then within another 12 months, the replaced steam wand also stopped working. I'm up for another repair period without my machine. No prizes for guessing how long the second steam wand will work after the warranty period lapses. Further, it has needed a couple of items replaced due to wear and the postage is approx $15, regardless if the item is only $0.99. This all in less than 24 months on a machine that cost me $2,20...Read more
0. I would not buy this again or let anyone I care about buy this machine. Yes, it does make a very nice coffee when it works. And yes the customer service staff have been trained to tell you to suck eggs in a very nice way. However these two are things are a nice to have - after you know that such an expensive purchase will work as intended for a reasonable amount of time. White Glove Service makes this Coffee machine worth every cent!
I am so happy with my Breville Oracle. Last year I researched options for my mum who lives in the country and we ended up purchasing one of these Breville oracles for her. She has been really happy with her machine and I have really enjoyed her coffees whenever I visited so I felt like I had well and truly tested it out before purchasing one myself. I bought my own 2 months ago, but I did have a few issues initially setting it up and working out the right grind size for my coffee beans. I called the Breville Oracle support line and they said I ...Read more
was eligible for the white glove service. Basically a free service for new owners, where someone comes out to visit, Shows you how to set up your machine properly and how to keep it clean and running efficiently. Emily was wonderful and went the extra mile helping me work out the right grind size for my favorite brand of coffee beans. She also came back a month later to do the same white glove service for my mum and her machine as she never had it when she initially bought hers. I am so grateful for Emily's help and am enjoying a beautiful coffee from my Oracle every day :-) .Purchased in May 2021 at Harvey Norman for $1,700.00.

Great upgrade, perfect coffee each time.
I’m based in Perth WA. Firstly I’ve just had the pleasure of having a white glove service at my house. The very pleasant and informative Emily helped me through my machines operations and made me an awesome coffee. This device was second to none and made buying the machine worth it.
I previously owned a Breville express machine which I had for just over 2 years, I wanted an upgrade to something with dual boiler and a little more auto.
I’ve had the oracle for 6 weeks and it’s been a pleasure to have. It makes consistently great coffee and the best milk.
I would buy another ( if I had the money) again.

Great coffee machine
Overall, I am pretty satisfied with this coffee machine. I use it almost everyday and it is easy to operate. Especially the auto grind/tamp function and the ability to simultaneously perform extraction and milk frothing, it saves me a lot of trouble/time compare to other coffee machines. The coffee it makes is at the right temperature as well. However, I've found inconsistency with the espresso extraction. Using the same coffee beans with the same grinding size/level, the amount of espresso extraction can be very different. Sometimes it's right, sometimes it's over-extracted. Other than this, it is a very good coffee machine for the family.

Great Coffee easy
Bought this machine a few months ago having upgraded from a Nespresso Pod machine. cannot believe how easy it is to use. love the coffee after having experimented with a few different brands of beans. simple to clean. only issue so far has been the occasional spontaneous switch off of the machine in the middle of making coffee. has been checked by a repairer who was unable to duplicate issue

We have the One Touch 990. The Allen screw for the shower screen has broken in two, half of it stuck in the upper assembly (group head?). I see replacement screws available but removing the broken one looks difficult. The break is flush with the screw hole so there’s nothing that one can grab with pliers. The screw itself is only 3 or 4 mm in diameter so trying to reverse it out with a screw extractor will probably damage the threads of the hole, making it impossible to use a replacement screw (maybe it could be retapped, maybe not). And I don’t see the group head available as a replacement part. Any ideas?

Hi, i have my machine set to 93 degrees but it now it wont stop heating, it continues to heat to over 99 degrees and then either trips out and turns off or brings up a fault. Any ideas on what the problem is?
John Damasked
We've had the machine for approx 18 months and just recently it has started having problems getting to the operating temperature (I have it set at 94c). It gets to 88, the 89 and sometimes 90, fluctuates between the those and eventually after about 10 mins settles on 94 but the "heating" messages keeps flashing. Despite all that, once the 94 is reached all things work as their supposed to.
I have also never rescaled the machine. Never had any messages to do so. It's been cleaned as per prompts and filters replaced but no de scale. Could a descale help?
Cheers John

Hi John, i have set the temp @93 and never had such problems. There is nothing wrong to try descale as per instructions however not sure that will help. Have you tried to reduce the temp and saw any difference in time to initialise. Also worth calling breville support if there are any hardware issues.
Thanks Vish, I must admit it only started to have those issues since I moved to 94. I’ll take it back to 93 and let you know. Cheers
Hi Vish, it's been a couple of hours since I turned the machine off, so fired it up and changed the temp back to 93. It worked a treat so thanks for your help.
I'd been watching a coffee show and they said that 94c was the optimum temperature to extract the best from coffee hence my change. I really can't taste any difference in that one degree so looks like I'm all good again.
Cheers John
