    So far so good. Evidently a problem with fire but I did not experience this. Regardless, recently Sa

    Serves an extended family of eight and runs every day several times a day and to date faultless, reliable and efficient. A quiet unobtrusive machine that gets on with the job without fuss and is reliable. I am quite happy with it and should it fail would still consider another.

    SP = shody product

    We have had this machine for 2.5 years. Worst buy ever. It fills again at the end of each cycle and operates continuoly from cycle to cycle. Clothes alwas come out very wet.
    It has happy chime sounds though.
    Whoever developed this terrible product should hang their head in shame.

    Worst Machine

    published

    Can only say it's the worst washing machine we have used. Had a recall for possible fire hazard and was rectified but after that it played up all the time. It refills water after the final rinse every now and then and would waste unnecessary water and electricity if you are not around to monitor. It has been repaired 3 times including changing the computer board but problem was still not solved. The Diamond Drum technology was a total failure that makes all the washing stuck together which maybe be the problem causing the repeated washing. Anyway, have to replace it with another brand.

    Love the machine BUT...

    Love the machine but I also get the black gunk. It is the bad design of the inner tub which is plastic and is corrugated. Older machines had a smooth inner tub. Body oils, dirt from clothes get caught up in the folds of the drum as it spins and can't flush away until the machine stops and starts filing up again. My husband blew out this inner drum with an air hose and got the gunk out but after a few more washes it collected again. Samsung needs to change the design of this inner drum. Apart from that this machine does an excellent job. Samsung won't admit to this fault and blames it on the user instead. Stopping fabric conditioner makes no difference.

    Yes, contact Samsung and give them the number on the back of the machine.

    Mine was on the recall list years ago for some possible fire hazard if running unattended. Samsung sent in a technician to have it fixed. After that all the other problems emerged and eventually have their servicemen back a few times until we threw the machine away to buy another brand. I have heard about another Samsung recall recently but not sure if the same model.

    Yes its on the recall list, after many emails, phone calls and messages Samsung replaced mine with a different model, they took this one away when they replaced it. I don't know if you can ask for a refund if you still have the receipt even though you have thrown it away, contact the ACCC to find out about that.

    Will the machine be damaged if the hot water connection is not connected? We only have a cold water tap.

    Not sure. We have changed the Samsung to a Bosch WAS 28461AU‏ front loader which is very good.
    From memory, we always used cold water only for washing, so I think should be okay but please check for other opinion and don't just take my words.

    I most;y wash with cold water, I dont think it will be a problem as long as you only select cold water option. If you have the samsung machine it has been recalled and you should get a refund or replacement machine. Check with the ACCC about that.

    I did not have the same problem, so I cannot advise you except getting help from Samsung. My problem was water refilling after the final spin and rinsed again which wasted water, electricity and time. Samsung could not fix after coming back for three times. I changed it to a Bosch front loader which is working very well.
