SCANPAN is terrible!!! Non-stick layer is peeling off after less than 9 months!!!
enclosed are photos from the dealer to show examples of peeling...and so under warranty.
And my scanpan shows peeling but not under warranty... reason... the dealer says the food cooking has deposited a thick carbon layer that destroys the non-stick layer!!!
what else would i cook? bricks?

The first thing you discover with this frying pan when you read the instruction manual (yes, I actually read a manual on how to use a frying pan) is that it is only suitable for use on a medium heat. In practice, this makes it "not fit for purpose". You simply cannot cook a steak (for example) well. On a medium heat, the meat does not sear, sealing in the juices. The meat gradually dehydrates, while you watch the juices seep into the pan, which is fine if you are using cheap cuts to make some kind of stew, but I am not! AND, I don't want my sco...
Read moretch fillet coming out dry and as tough as the soles of my RM Williams. Now...the non stick coating. I took all of 6 days before fried eggs started to stick to the bottom of the pan. I was absolutely disgusted. I contacted Kitchen Warehouse to initiate a warranty claim. They asked me to send a photo of the pan, which I did. They referred this to Scanpan and they diagnosed the issue as carbon build up and supplied a document with pages of detailed cleaning products and strategies. In short, they avoid honouring the warranty by supplying you with cleaning strategies that would actually take 3 or 4 times longer than the actual cooking with their pan. I wonder if anyone has ever in the history of frying pans has ever had their warranty honoured? In summary, save your money, buy 10 cheap pans from Kmart and you will end up with a whole lot more non-stick cooking (and you will be able to cook a steak!). That said, I am a retired man with a lot of time on my hands, a lot of warranty left and I am going to be a royal pain to Scanpan and Kitchen Warehouse in pursuing my consumer rights. Following this review, I am off to pen an email to consumer affairs (or whatever they are called these days)Purchased in at Kitchen Warehouse Online Store for $120.

Product is quite heavy and difficult to clean. Surface became worn quickly. Unfortunately, although I used it as per the directions, the surface became very worn within 2 years. Absolutely not what I expected for the price paid and supposed superior surface compared with cheaper non-stick pans. Pan was difficult to clean and food stuck to the surface. I’d advise buying cheaper brands and replacing every 2 years rather than outlaying money for a recognisable brand name.

These pans are terrible. Not worth the extra money at all. Bought when about 18 months ago and there are bits flaking off the bottom edge already, in multiple spots.
What a waste of money and time and effort. The fact that they have no customer service replies on here is so telling as well.

This has to be the most overpriced rubbish on the market! It starts to lose its non stick pretty early (6months) using silicon and wooden utensils. And yes I have done their recommended carbon build up removal blah blah blah! Its useless, food sticks, bits are coming off into your food and its the coating coming off, not burnt on food etc, I know how to wash a pot. Never again! Cast iron fry pan, Tefal egg pan and stainless steel the rest. Talk about scam pan!!

Got a VERY expensive 5 pc non-stick set for anniversary gift. The non-stick coating came off in huge chunks in some pots, exposing multiple layers. Others it started to bubble and then flake off. We had to throw out food because flakes of non-stick coating were getting in the food. Within 3 months the frypan was so bad we threw it in the bin and replaced with a $20 frypan from Kmart (which is still going perfectly!). The other pots and wok we kept in drawer. Lodged a warranty claim and was told to send them back for a full replacement, however ...
Read moreI ended up in hospital that week and didn't get to return them. Fast forward in time and now that I'm back on my feet I tried to complete the warranty claim again but was refused. They have just been sitting in drawer gathering dust unused. Am told that the 'lifetime' warranty is only 10 yrs, they believe pots are older than that (they have been sitting unused all that time!), and they even had the nerve to say the damage on the wok is because it just needs a scrub! When I enquired about replacing them earlier they had told me it was a faulty batch with the coating and that they were replacing them all, but a different story now apparently. They are going into the bin. I have noticed dept stores always have scanpan at half price. I don't think it's even worth the half price. Don't bother, get another brand. I understand that nothing lasts forever, but I am disappointed with false promises and false warranty guarantees that come at a huge price.Purchased for $700.

I bought SCANPAN nonstick casserole pot, becomes rusted after approx 3 years of use.
I always washed with non scratch scourer, never put in the dishwasher.
Very disappointed with the product.
The replied from SCANPAN company:
Unfortunately, no manufacturing fault has been found when your pan was being assessed, therefore we can not issue a replacement.
Your pan has been rejected due to carbon being present.

I’ve bought thousands of dollars worth of these classic pans.
They’re re great for a few uses and even using their own cleaning instructions, no high heat and cleaning with soap and water without scrubbing and never been in the dishwasher, the coating still comes off. I’ve sent many back for replacement over the years and it’s more of a bother than anything. They’re very hard to deal with. Don’t bother

I bought a pricey Scanpan and found the food sticking to the pan. I tried to return it after speaking to someone on the phone-Scanpan kept it for 8 weeks and returned with no note/refused to fix or even clean. Appalling customer service. Would not recommend.

Questions & Answers
Hi I have had two roaster scan pan both got bubbles in them quite upset
And disappointed what can I do
Hi I would like to know if anyone has had issues with the scan pan induction frypan not cooking all the way across the pan. My 32 cm frypan only cooks in the centre of the pan even though it is on a ring that is large. Its actually useless.
I have a roaster with rack and lid with glass insert. The bottom of my roaster is bubbling quite badly and the coating is lifting. This is the first SCANPAN item that I have had any concerns with.
Sorry, I haven't had any experience with the roaster. All I can suggest is to either take it back to the store you got it from & see what they say. I managed to find a Sheldon & Hammond close to to me...
Read more where I exchanged my scanpan but I just looked them up & they are no longer there. Good luck getting an exchange or refund.Get an answer from our members and Scanpan representatives
