If I tallied the billable hours spent on emails and phone calls to this company to sort out simple details only to be told each and every time that they had a new system that was experiencing glitches, I could have bought the car outright. Don't ever try to change employers or extend your lease! Both procedures were almost impossible to achieve. Don't do it

Thank you Selectus!
I recently moved across from another fleet company and was totally confused by what was required and the process as the other company kept giving me different answers and basically were just not at all helpful. The support Selectus provided in the interim was second to none. Every Selectus representative went over and above to assist, explain and ensure that the process was as a smooth as possible.

Poor product knowledge and little customer service
On many occasions have been told a certain form filled in was incorrect only to have it accepted by another selectus staff member.
I Advised selectus I was being overcharged, they ignored my advice. Several months later I received an over payment cheque for over $9000. They have no clue and don’t listen to the customer.
Will not use them or recommend them again.

Really hard to deal with.
Had a terrible time trying to set up the lease for my car. Documents were flying everywhere, wrong information was given. Had several reps asking me the same question and then giving me different answers.

Post purchase customer support terrible
I have been with selectus for about 8 years now and these are a few of my experiences:
* I have updated my street address online numerous times as it was incorrect spelling, but it has never been changed.
* They have a lot of people in different departments that clearly do not communicate, as you get a different person addressing your issues or file each time and I have to repeat myself often.
* Pre-purchase communication good, post-purchase terrible.
Need to streamline and ideally would be great if there was one person assigned to my file, that I could talk too if needed.

My call was answered in a timely manner.
Follow up was great and any questions answered.

Easy to work with
Selectus has been easy to work with and i am happy with the cars i have got. Customer service has been great and made the changes i have requested. Have to add another word for the text.

Life made easier
Salary sacrificing my cars has been great. Makes weekly budgets easier to manage. I suggest using your own insurance as the one provided is really expensive. Customer service is great- a quick phone call has solved any queries or problems efficiently.

I have never had the displeasure to work with such an obstructive and unhelpful organisation before. From the outset, the customer service was appalling. I was required to provide a set of documents, which I did (one of which was a red book valuation as I was transferring the lease from a previous employment - which they knew). Apparently this would cost me down the track as this made me ineligible for a FBT offset. account and to act on my behalf. I received notification that that had been accepted etc and then when he contacted them they refused to deal with him. I am now at the other end of my lease and keep getting generated emails about my lease almost reaching its expiry etc etc and that I should contact them but they do not respond to the emails I send (PS - no section of this company that I have dealt with does by the way). So I continue to get emails asking me to email ... and I am now sending them emails asking if they intend to ever respond.... PS IF you care Selectus, I will be buying the car out. I was going to re-lease but since you are the only novated leasing company my employer uses...I would rather lose the tax benefit than go through the stress of all this again.Similar opinion? Avoid at all costs
Selectus are helpful and pleasant up until the point you sign all the documents and the lease is done - from this point onwards they are most unpleasant to deal with, unhelpful, take unheard of amounts of time to respond and have been holding my money for no apparent reason well after the date my lease was terminated - in addition to not providing clarity on anything I have asked. I would urge those who have a choice to use any other company to do just that and those who use Selectus because of a choice by their employer to point their employer in the direction of these reviews.

Terrible Customer Service Bordering on Criminal
Shared financial information about another client with me in order to bully me into signing the lease in a hurry. Approved the contract and finance, told the vehicle seller the car was "sold" and then broke the contract, cancelled finance and closed the file three days later because I was "rude" to them. Thanking my lucky starts I didn't get caught up with them. Have made a complaint to the Ombudsman. Avoid these incompetent people at all costs.

I used them to salary sacrifice my mortgage, one of the benefits with my previous employer.
In the beginning, they kept trying to push the car lease although what I really wanted to do was salary sacrifice my mortgage. The person I was told me to consider the car lease and said he'd send me information about it along with the mortgage details. age was set up after several calls/emails and it was working fine until, around a year I didn't get the amount paid into my account. I had to send several emails and calls before it was resolved. It's generally a nightmare to get in touch with them, getting passed around by staff and staff giving incorrect information -- this happened several times. One time I was given incorrect calculations and the reason given was "she doesn't really do this, she was doing this to help out" I guess I appreciate the sentiment but seriously that's no excuse for your staff giving out incorrect information? Lease again - No chance
I have never written a review about anything before but Selectus have made it a first for me. To be fair they were actually OK up to end of the lease and then they became difficult by not paying bills we were submitting even though our overall balance was good. I can only assume they were ring fencing the money they would have to pay out for our finance but even then we had plenty in the account. gh we have received clearance from the finance company and we now own the car we still await the balance to be paid back to us and have had to contact them again. This is over $650 in their account gaining interest. Money they should not have took but they say they do. Try finding that in their quotation and initial paperwork! Best bit was when they offered to lease the car again for another year yet we would still owe them money at the end of that year. The outstanding balance was only going to drop from 6K to 4K. They kept my money for 4 months!!!
Just got a call from the debt collector, representing the bank, that selectus has not paid any installments on my car since may 2018 and that legal action would be taken against me (ex repossess car). They have not paid any of the services they supposed to provide, including insurance, so I have been driving without insurance for 4 months and completely unaware of it. On top of everything they have lied after I contacted them and when they sent me the documentation I realized that the rego on all paperwork, including insurance, was not my rego! I am in shock with the bad service and incompetency!!!

They have just taken 3 moths worth of payments out in one day they have lied to me and are always asking for extra payments it feels like I'm paying for someone else's car as well as my own.

Stunned at how bad they are
Used them 3 times. No more after today.
Every time I have done salary sacrifice with them, something goes wrong.
Doubled charged, not getting reimbursement etc.
Every year its a different "error".

Abysmal Customer Service
Customer service is excellent in pre-sales, once you've signed up you get treated like dirt. There business profits by holding your funds in trust and they seem to be experts at frustrating attempts to claim. Missing something, claim rejected, start again, do not pass go, do not collect $200. A simple phone call could sort things out, but they dont workl ike that.

Worst company ever
Mid lease transfer of novated lease due to change of employer. Termination process was bungled from start and 2 months later still waiting for funds. Seems like it's a deliberate ploy to keep funds as long as possible. Staff have been OK but they always seem to blame the automated system for delays.

Unreliable
They sign you up and that's where the Service Ends.
They have very bad follow-up methods, or should I say lack of methods.

Seems like you are on your own. Lucky i experienced the poor customer service before I signed up. Maxxia has a far superior service.
I have no idea what their deal is but I know that even at lease end, and even when I mentioned legal action, I couldn't get a response or even acknowledgment of my emails. I ended up contacting the financing company directly and cutting Selectus out of the conversation. I don't yet have my final account so not taking legal action off the table yet.
They have no response. Not to endless emails, threats of legal action or consumer affairs involvement. No apology. No explanation.
I’ve never wanted to urge other people not to use a company as badly as I do with them.

I just found out that Selectus have not paid the car to the bank for the past 4 months... they did not pay insurance, so i have been driving uninsured so none of the things they said they were paying were paid... The bank called and said they are going to reposess the car... Where can I go for legal advise? I wanna sue them!
