You need to check the its using softener. Does it run out? If it isn't using any softener you need a Siemens technician.
Secondly not all cycles include softener. Try the wool cycle.

Hi there Hotwire. Thanks for your answer. Yes it's using softener, as it needs refilling. I'm using the cotton cycle which uses conditioner. Something is not combining right. Clothes used to come out soft and fragrant with my old manual Siemens. Seems like this automatic thing is more hassle than it's worth. David

Hi Juanita. I have had the machine a few months. It is quicker if you set it to Speed Perfect. Takes about 1 hr for a normal Cottons wash which is what I usually do. Much quicker than my old Siemens. There is an Eco Pefect option that is much longer. I am not happy right now because the clothes are not coming out all soft like they did with my old Siemens where I manually did the detergent and softener. Hope this helps. David

I don't fix washers but I would remove the draw and clean the contacts at the back with a clean dry cloth. The detergent has likely affected the connection.

I like to use the Hygienic setting and add a couple of extra rinses. I do the same thing with towels and I'm very happy with the results.
