Good machine and customer service from Simpson when we had an issue
After 2 weeks of use the machine would make a loud banging noise from the back. Service man from Simpson came out promptly and advised that they would simply replace with a new machine. Noise was possibly the drum. Within a week our new machine was delivered and no problems since. The water is added to the machine in bursts over a few minutes at the start of the cycle which can be loud through the house as the taps are turned on and off quickly. Overall though we are happy with the machine. You can vary the programs to your needs.

Top load washing machine
Great mcahnine for large items such as bed quilts. I can fit in a queen size Dooner. I would have liked to have a cake where you can soak a wash. There does not seem to be an option for this. Otherwise a variety of washing options are available, all which give a good wash. The ability to set and delay washes is a good feature

Washes well but you can't override some preprogrammed settings.
Washes everything well. Bought it to replace an unreliable and very expensive to repair Speed Queen.
Can't understand why they won't implement something to avoid water hammer. Well-known problem over many years, solutions available (not turning off the water abruptly or using a water hammer arrestor) but not implemented. Why?
Cons:
Can't change the water level for the quick wash
only very small time duration (+/-) adjustments to default times available
very bad water hammer for a few minutes at the beginning of a wash.

brand buy
I like to known brands, that's why i bought a Simpson, Probably also because my mother owned a simpson washing machine when i was young. good solid dependable brand, will work for years without breaking, Only issue i have is top loaders use more water than front loaders, if this is an issue, choose a front loader in their range. Otherwise you'll be happy and worry free with your purchase.

Touchpad doesn't work
The control panel is not consistent. Sometimes when you press it to change your selection it doesn't recognise your touch and the start/pause button doesn't always work. I have to turn the machine off and start again and then try another cycle to see if the touchpad will work. It can take me five or six goes just to get the touchpad to recognise a cycle and then the start/pause won't work and then we have to start all over again.

Value for Money
The Simpson 10kg replaced our old Simpson 8 kg which was about 9 yrs old. The new machine is much quieter even during the spin cycle. The new detergent mixing method stops leaving residue on the clothes as would often happen with the old machine. For a good quality washing but not top of the line machine at a low price this washing machine fits the bill.

Great for Family Laundry
We got this model.being a 10 kilo washer for our family of 4.
Has many different settings for different washing types/settings. Even has a quick wash setting if youre in a hurry and can even remove the spin cycle on any setting if you wish. Eco wash setting available if youre that way inclined. Has time adjust/delay start . You can save a favorite wash setting if you like. Also has alock feature. Soft close lid is great and top of lid /machine is a toughened scratch resistant glass.

Lasted 2 days then died
Bought 26th December, delivered 27th Dec and several loads through machine 27th and 28th Dec without any issues, then on 29th Dec no power to machine at all - won't turn on and tried everything (powerpoint tested OK with other appliance). Disappointed to say the very least, spouse even more so !

Very disappointed
14.11.2017 I purchased SWT 1043 - 25.11.2017 it flooded my laundry floor. Sent to be repaired, could not be repaired. 10.12.2017 replaced with a another SWT 1043 - 10.12.2017 - this machine also has failed. Have taken back and replaced with a different brand of washing machine. Very unhappy with the machine and all the inconvenience that has occurred due to faulty workmanship.

9 months in
After owning this washing machine for only 9 months the hose from the inlet valve (inside) to the tub has split, so when we attempt to do a load of washing the only thing that gets wet is our floor. Spoke to Simpson (Electrolux) and they suggest we get in contact with their local service agent. Local service agent suggested we bring the machine in to get it fixed, as it would be quicker than waiting for them to come out. So because Simpson use inferior or faulty parts we have to wait or arrange delivery and then try and redeem any costs incurred, contrary to what ACL states. Previous Simpson washing machine has gone 10 years without issue, this one 9 months and now we have to deal with the buck passing.

After several calls to the service agent and with Electrolux finally contacting me (2 weeks) I received the replacement part and installed it myself. Still unable to recommend this product even though... Read more
Electrolux (eventually) were helpful. The service agent on the other hand have only just contacted me (5/01/18) stating they have received the part and now are waiting on a "technician" to be available. Seriously, almost a month to fix something that is still under warranty if it was left up to the service agent.12 month later and the exact same problem has a occurred. Unless you are willing to have the same problem (broken hose) fixed every 12 months. Avoid this machine.

Great Washing Machine Better than expected
Washes cloth perfectly & spins dry well so no need to leave on line to long. Much quieter than the old Whirlpool Cabrio. 2 favourite features are being able to set water height & a lint filter that is missing in most other brands. (Lift cap off agitator then pull out inner plastic shaft to access & empty lint filter bag) Works Perfectly. Also like the Manual that identifies error codes and gives information on possible self fixes. If not fixed then you can give the repairer the code and they now what's wrong. Purchased from Harvey Norman & they installed the machine and took the old one & packaging away.

Read the instructions carefully
The secret is to read the instructions thoroughly especially the use of fabric softener . I did not and initially got bad resukts such as fabric softener not dispencing. The machine is now working as expected. It washes well and does not seem to wear out clothes. It’s not quite averafe the mouse is average.

SIMPSON - A good reliable brand and a great washing machine
The Simpson washing machine we have, was purchased in 2003 - that's 15 years and is still going strong. We know it will not last forever, but we cannot fault our Simpson machine. Oh Boy, has it had some use. It is used at least once daily but mostly 3 - 4 times daily and has never let us down. The clothes always come out very clean and almost half dry - hang them on the line and on a good day you can bring them in and do the ironing that is necessary, after about 1 hour - brilliant. As any motorised unit it makes a little noise, but not over th...Read more
e top. It cares for the clothes really well and fits in as a nice piece of furniture in the Laundry. It takes large loads or very easily or small loads - what ever is needed at the time. When we do need to replace it, SIMPSON will be the brand of choice for us.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great washing machine
Great washing machine.. really big and very quiet. Bought at jb hifi for a good price. Cleans clothes very well and uses minimal powder for such a large machine. Replaced an older machine that was as loud as a cat in a mincer so it is blissfull silence when doing washing now

Top Loader's rule, so do lint filters!
Y'all can have your front loaders, bending down to load a machine and waiting hours for completion. This Simpson machine is the goods, with two main factors that had has fork out the coin for this beasty... 1) a LINT FILTER - the amount of lint we clean out of this reminds you what you're flushing down (or getting stuck in) your drain without one, or worse, still stuck on your clothes. And 2) 10kg is awesome for big loads done in one hit! I couldn't care about water usage, because all these efficient machines that 'save water' take too long ...Read more
so you then use too much electricity (more valuable than water these days maybe?) and the clothes don't wash that well unless they go for a long time in the machine (more power wasted). And, I want control. Automatic machines with no settings but silly ones like clothes types is just a gimmick I'm sure! So this Simpson answers all I like about a machine. Control the water level (towels on very hot in a full tub of water is a great result!), temps, spin and the best... rinse type including a double rinse! A dial for quick access, and the wash countdown time is very acceptable and is the actual time till the end not an estimate. Soft close lid, and it's tempered glass so you can rest your basket or cat on it. The machine has remained smelling clean, no mill due or mold like 'efficient' machines, the clothes come out really, really clean, and there are quick settings for like a daily wash that are shorter times if something needs a quick spruce up. Great brand, very affordable especially compared to $2.5k priced front loaders (what the, who pay that price!!??), has not ever played up in the time we've owned it and it's used nearly daily, and it's easy to give a quick wipe over inside and outside. Lint filter is easy to access, no clothes ever have been damaged either. Highly recommended, and you're not on your knees paying for it or loading clothes or sheets in to it either!! Oh, previous machine was a 4 star Fischer & Paykel... never again, that machine smelled like a sewerage works, could never be cleaned, and had too many auto features which left clothes covered in soap scum. Many years of ownership I was never going back to that brand, and it went to the tip (recycled) once the shocks went and the smell was making it's way to the clothes.Similar opinion? appliances on line great service and value for a simpson SWT1043
delivered 3 days ago, used it a few times now in different cycles, doing a wonderful job even on grimy cloths like work Jeans.
the 10 kl is great too, already washed a very large bed throw, and washed up wonderfully, I like the way the wash powder is mixed before it hits the cloths. all round Im very pleased . and hope it last's as long as my old Fisher /p of 17 years.

A machine that actually cleans
I love this washing machine. Have owned it for about a month. It is quiet. It has an auto water level function that senses the correct water level per load. Uses minimal detergent. My clothes come out smelling and looking clean unlike previous machines. Has a variety of wash functions from speedy 30mins, bedding, handwash option and heavy duty. Highly Recommended.

Not Happy Jan
Purchased the machine in June. Hasn't worked properly since the day we got it. Basically the touch buttons don't recognise your touch. Can't change settings, can't even start the machine. Walk away come back 30 minutes later & hey presto it works. EVERYDAY we have this problem...EVERY DAY rang Electrolux today (Frid) - poor product knowledge to say the least..lady in customer service say why don't you ring the manufacturer? Well I would if I knew what was wrong with it...Repairman can't visit until next Tues...just fantastic. Expect MUCH MUCH better.

Clothes come out soft, much better washing than my previous LG front loader
I had a Simpson top loader for over a decade before it died. Then I went to an LG front loader. Not satisfied I went to a newer model LG top loader. They used to wash terribly as in left stains on everything, and the clothes would come out stiff like boards even after I did an extra rinse (which negates the reason to have a front loader). So I have gone back to a Simpson.
Only had it a couple of weeks. Immediately my clothes are softer. Stain wise it does much better than my front loaders did, yes I do need to spray my stain remover on ...Read more

Recommended product
I have a mix of requirements for a washing machine: Office clothes, horse rugs and saddle blankets, paddock work clothes etc. Being on tank water I also need water efficiency. The Simpson meets these requirements and I have had no problems with the quality of the wash.
In terms of controls I do not use automatic setting. I reckon the day I cannot estimate how full the tub is should be the day I forget to breathe. Having said that the manual settings are easy to use.
In all I would recommend this to anyone.

My top loader won't let me set the water level to low in the 20 min wash. What do I do.

I have the opposite problem . The quick 20 setting sets the level way too low. Can’t even wash 3 tea towels ... the water level doesn’t cover them !

I have a Simpson SWT1043 not 2 years old yet, and the hose has split in the Detergent dispenser drawer, has anyone else had this problem? and how do you get the back off so that you can repair the hose, my husband had a look and the hose is split in two places, this shouldn't happen one a washing machine that is not quite 2 years old. It is still under warranty but waiting for warranty repair is like waiting forever.
