We were initially hesitant about purchasing a SmartBurn due to the cost. However, since our first purchase we have definitely seen results that justify the price. The biggest plus for us is that the woods burns down to much finer ash, which means we don’t need to clean it out as often. SmartBurn lives up to all of its promises.

For the past number of years I have been tasked with climbing on to the roof to clean my wood heater chimney, that was until about 3 years ago when I was informed of SmartBurn, consequently no more roof hopping plus cleaning of the glass door, perhaps twice only over the winter period.

I have been using a smartburn in my combustion heater for years. This a tried and efficient product that I would not light my fire without. Thoroughly recommend it. It genuinely works.

Makes our wood burn a lot longer and a better heat, less smoke.
Keeps the fire place with less ash .when tapping the flue it has less build up .best investment for any fire place.

This will be the third Winter we have used SmartBurn in our fireplace.
We are getting more heat in our home and are using less wood as a result. The glass is cleaner and my husband has noticed that the flue is not as dirty after each use.

Smartburn is compact, easy to use, and does exactly as it says.
Have used it for 2 Winters now, and my glass is clean, the emissions have reduced and my fireplace is working well.

Use it every year and it works brilliantly. We got it one year and had to clean our flue mid winter. Never made that mistake again. Couldn't be without it.

Purchased on advice from home heating store, even though I was sceptical about the efficiency of this product. It certainly lives up to its name. I just replaced my wood fire after 10 years. The flue has never been cleaned.

Seem to work well. When product appeared to leak, was replaced for free, with useful tips to prevent it happening again. Great customer service. They obviously believe in their product!

No improvement on clearing the creosote. The glass is dirtier than ever before.
Not happy with the product. It is very expensive to spend the kind of money on something that disappoints.

When I first started burning this product it seemed to do what is advertised however was only effective for 3 weeks . Thought may have brought a dud so tried again . Same result from second purchase. (I'm a slow learner) $100. up in smoke. Won't be doing that again.

I normally wouldn’t bother writing this email however I feel a bit taken advantage of. I purchased the unit only to get home and find out I should sit the unit on a fire brick. Back to bunnings who don’t sell fire bricks. Regardless I sourced one and away I went.
As I said it would be 6 weeks using it and hoping week by week to see an improvement. Unfortunately this has not occurred. In fact I think the glass is dirtier.

SmartBurn does what it says. Less smoke produced. It actually does continuously clean the chimney flue and we are using less wood. although it costs $45 the chimney sweep guy also says they reduce the risky of a chimney fire.

We started using the smart burner about a month ago and so far the little wood burner we have looks cleaner.
But last night I discovered some sort of molten metal behind the smart burn. Looked for it this morning when my burner was cold and found some sort of metal.
I contacted smartburnt.com.au this morning through their website and got a call back about two hours later! Talked to a very friendly lady (sorry, forgot her name).
The 'stuff' indeed comes from inside the smart burner (I must have nicked it while still hot). And she told me she would send me a new smart burner as the one I have is probably empty.
What an amazing service!!!

Has this product been scientifically tested and analysed by an independent authority? How does the smoke reduction come down to a figure of 54% and 17% more value from the wood? How was that measured? The only claim that can be proven is the clean glass. From my experience it has no effect. I think it's a big scam and should be looked into by fair trading. I look forward to answers to my questions, preferably from the manufacturers.
